The Principle of Sowing and Reaping Is Real!

Have you ever heard the saying, “You reap what you sow?”

To “sow” something literally means to “plant seeds,” while to “reap” something means to “collect a crop.” These actions apply to more than just gardening and farming. The Bible also teaches this concept.

One of those who believe in this principle is Gina Mendoza. Her heart always longs to help those who are in need and share her blessings with those who are less fortunate than herself.

“There are many people in need, but sometimes, our heart is not open to help them,” she realized.

Not only is Gina a giver, but also an avid viewer of The 700 Club Asia. Through the show, she discovered that she could reach out to her kababayans by supporting God’s ministry.

“I learned that Operation Blessing helps a lot of people. They go to remote areas to make water wells and help children go to school,” Gina said, recalling the episodes she watched.

She was deeply moved by the stories of how Operation Blessing, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, helps those in need. Because of this, she decided to make a commitment to give to the ministry, believing that those in need will benefit from her giving. She made her way to M. Lhuillier to donate Php 3,000.

Little did she know that while she was sowing in the lives of others, God was working on the things she was about to reap!

Gina has been suffering from her migraines for over a decade. One night, while watching her favorite show, The 700 Club Asia, she saw the hosts prayed for a woman who was suffering from migraines at that very moment.

She prayed for healing and to her amazement, was healed after claiming the prayer! Up to this day, the migraine never came back.

Not only that, God also answered a prayer that she has already forgotten.

A few years ago, Gina prayed for a commercial property. But it turned out that it was already purchased by another buyer. God is so amazing that after many years have passed, the lot became available again. He also provided Gina with the means to purchase the property!

“I learned that God does not forget the desires of our heart,” she said.

Your acts of compassion are not unnoticed by God, who rewards them abundantly. And since no one can outgive God, you can expect numerous blessings from Him in return. It may be in a different form, but it will surely come!

In giving, carry this verse with you:

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV)

Start applying the principle of sowing and reaping and see how God can surprise you!

Are You Praying for Blessings?

Was there ever a time in your life when you thought everything was fine then suddenly, things just started to fall apart?

Out of nowhere, what seemed like a promising dream became a haunting nightmare.

Ligaya Antonio thought that she had a great and foolproof idea when she started joining the online selling trend. For her, it was a great opportunity to earn a lot of money while doing something she is very comfortable with.

In a few months’ time, Ligaya’s sales skyrocketed. At one point, she was able to earn as much as Php 200,000, which encouraged her to keep going. From time to time, she and her husband would go back and forth to Hong Kong to buy bags that she would sell for her online business.

But after a short period of time, her business dwindled due to the intense competition in the online market. Ligaya and her husband saw their resources decrease bit by bit, until it became difficult to make ends meet.

They were abundant in resources before, but they are lacking now.

“When our sales declined, our basic needs were affected. It was difficult to get by. We have to pay for our rent, we have to pay for our electricity, we have to think about our children,” Ligaya said.

This situation caused friction in Ligaya’s marriage and constantly caused numerous arguments between them.

During this time, she also had a mild stroke that brought a heavy toll on her life.

Challenges really surrounded Ligaya and her family that shook her to the core.

When faced with heavy and unending burdens, what do you do

Where do you go for help?

Ligaya chose to remain faithful and run to God.

In spite of all that she and her family have been through, Ligaya held onto her faith and consistently honored God by supporting His ministry, The 700 Club Asia.

Ligaya explained, “The best way for me to express my gratitude for what God has given me is for me to give back to those that need help the most.”

She chose to give because she saw the good work that The 700 Club Asia was doing and felt inspired that her support had an impact on the lives of her kababayans. She wanted to bring change in their lives so even when she was struggling, she gave her best to become a fountain of blessing to others.

God saw her heart and He honored her giving.

With faith, Ligaya asked God for wisdom and direction as she tried to navigate her way out of her business problems. Thankfully, God did not disappoint her!

Just after a few months, her business picked up once again. God opened doors for her and gave her ideas to venture into selling diamonds, shoes, and clothes aside from just selling bags. More than the financial blessings, God allowed Ligaya to experience a new hope and a new life.

God also healed her completely from her mild stroke—her body recovered quickly, just like a stroke never happened.

“If I could meet God face to face, I would tell Him, ‘Thank you so much, Lord! Because it’s true, You never abandon all those who are faithful to You.’” she exclaimed.

Are you praying for blessings?

When Ligaya was lacking and burdened, she ran to God for help. Her faith did not waver; she stayed faithful to Him in the midst of her trials and so God blessed her abundantly.

In good times and bad, staying faithful to the Lord is always the best decision you could ever do. Indeed,

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” (James 1:12 NIV)

Keeping Your Promises to God Brings Blessings to Your Life

Have you ever forgotten your promises to God? Arlene Delos Reyes got so distracted with the blessings she received that she failed to remember her commitment to God.

Arlene was unemployed when she discovered The 700 Club Asia. The show encouraged her to keep praying and hoping that she and her cousin will soon have a stable job to suffice their needs.

Arlene Delos Santos

Despite being jobless, she started supporting God’s ministry by donating to CBN Asia. Like most people in desperate times, Arlene promised to God that she will be faithful in giving when she finds a job.

The Lord heard her cry and not long after that, He answered her prayers and gave her a job.

“I was so glad. I couldn’t express my happiness during that time because I could see that God was moving. From there, I saw how generous God is when we are faithful in giving,” Arlene said.

The Lord favored her so much that she was even able to buy a new house. Arlene was living her life with blessings after blessings, but she became distracted with all of it and forgot her promise to God. She soon stopped being a faithful giver.

After a few years, she lost everything she had acquired. Arlene can no longer pay her house’s monthly fees and she lost her job twice.

Imagine planning your family’s future and thinking that your life is already secured, then suddenly losing everything so quickly. Arlene started wondering, was it because she forgot about her promise to God?

She even admitted, “I was so preoccupied with all the blessings. In a blink of an eye, everything I ever enjoyed was taken away from me. It was hard for me.”

Arlene prayed and tried to restore her close relationship with the Lord. Because God is the God of second chances, she got another job as a fire dispatcher in the Middle East. This time, she is determined to honor her promise to God.

Arlene did not forget to thank God and get back to being faithful in supporting His ministry through CBN Asia.

“I am thankful that the Lord taught me how important it is to remember Him. Giving back to God is part of my life now,” Arlene testified.

Arlene Delos Santos

Despite the pandemic, Arlene experienced the goodness, faithfulness, and freedom that comes from God. She’s grateful that He led her to CBN Asia to extend help to the people who need it the most.

Arlene is now debt-free and is continuously blessing the people around her. Not only does God bless her financially, He increased her faith.

Like Arlene, if you feel like you have disappointed God, it’s not too late. He is ready to help you and willing to bless you as you decide to be faithful to Him.

Will True Love Ever Find Me?

“I don’t deserve to be loved.”

Coleen Barsibal believed this to be true after going through many traumatic experiences with family and romantic relationships.

It started with her father leaving them for another woman. Her mother was then diagnosed with schizophrenia, while her eldest sibling claimed their own life.

Since then, there wasn’t a permanent place that she could call home. She and her other siblings were passed on from one relative to another.

Did you experience the same problems, too? How did you overcome?

Coleen thought that the answer to her problems was doing vices with her friends. While these made her forget her problems, she eventually realized that it was only temporary, and these could not give her the genuine joy she seeks in life.

Believing her life was meaningless and pointless, Coleen also started entering romantic relationships. She urged her then-boyfriend to engage in sexual activities with her, despite him initially refusing to do it. He ended up cheating on her and breaking her heart.

She recalled asking herself, “My world crumbled down. I felt lonely again. My heart, body, and soul were so tired. Where is my life headed?”

At that moment, she asked God to give her the right man for her because she was tired of everything that she went through.

One day, she got an unexpected friend request on a social media site. It was from Sylverio, her classmate and crush from sixth grade. They started messaging each other, building a relationship together, and even co-habiting before they got married.

Is this finally the part where she finds peace and joy? Unfortunately, not.

Coleen found out that Sylverio has a child, and that the mother was using her child to get him back. One time when she called her boyfriend, the woman answered the phone and told Coleen that she’s in a hotel with Sylverio.

Although Sylverio ended up choosing Coleen over the other woman, she was still bothered and couldn’t sleep at night.

Thankfully, God had an amazing plan that would change Coleen’s life forever.

One sleepless night, she stumbled upon The 700 Club Asia, where she discovered that God loves her despite her past.

She prayed with the host and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her burdens felt lighter now that she has a personal relationship with God.

You can experience this miracle as well when you let Jesus into your life and believe that He can save you! According to Romans 10:9 (NIV), “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

God did not only restore Coleen’s relationship with Him, but with her loved ones as well.

“I learned to forgive even when the person did not apologize to me. I can now tell my father, ‘I love you’ and to my siblings, ‘I forgive you’. That’s how powerful God’s love is,” she testified.

God also restored Coleen’s relationship with Sylverio, and they tied the knot in 2014. Thanks to The 700 Club Asia, she was able to find a Christian church where she and her husband can grow in faith.

They are now part of a discipleship group that helps them love and know Jesus deeper. The couple also publicly declared their faith through their baptism.

But that is not the end of God’s amazing blessings for Coleen. She also passed the nursing board exam and is now using her profession to show God’s love to others.

Coleen now proudly says, “Yes, I have finally found true love and it can only be found in God.”

Are you looking for true love as well? Do the world’s definitions and expressions of love continue to disappoint you over and over again?

Turn to God, the Author of love! There is always hope because you are covered by His unconditional and unending love.

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.” (Isaiah 54:10 NIV)

Facing Marriage Problems? Here are 3 Tips to Overcome

No marriage is immune from having ups and downs. All relationships hit unforeseen speedbumps like issues of trust, intimacy, finances, family, communication—there are so many boxes to tick!

How you and your spouse face those obstacles can determine how you are going to make it in the long run.

Worry not. Beyond Small Talk is here to help you!

Guest Bearwin Meiley shares 3 practical tips to help you overcome if you are experiencing marriage problems:

1. Submit to God and obey Him

Have you ever tried praying together as a couple? Seeking God’s presence has never been more important in these trying times.

As Bearwin shared, “My wife and I have shortcomings, but we submit first to the Lord. The more you and your spouse grow closer to God, the more you grow closer to each other.”

2. Be each other’s accountability partner

In good times and in bad, where do you turn to?

Bearwin suggests that you turn to praying and Bible-reading—and encourage your spouse to do the same. Often people turn to friends, relatives, or churchmates for motivation, but it is good to know that marriage thrives on openness, honesty, and being each other’s cheerleader.

In tough times, remember that your spouse is the accountability partner God provided for you.

“My wife and I check on one another, ‘How’s your devotion?’ That is what I appreciate about my wife. When we started growing in God, whatever we were praying for, my wife would submit—and that is very, very important in marriage,” he testified.

3. Help each other in leading your children to God

As your family go through a challenging season, it is crucial to help your children develop a strong, enduring, and close relationship with God.

Marriages are not perfect, but they ought to know that they have a perfect God whom they can take refuge in when the going gets tough.

“One thing that I am so grateful, is that our 2 children know who God is and how He saved them. Everything is temporary, but your relationship with God is more than enough,” Bearwin shared.

Husbands and wives, God designed marriage that you must work as a team united with Him to carry out what He has called you to do even when—and especially when—times are rough.

No matter what marriage problems you are facing right now, know that God is your ever-present help. May you always seek Him and tune into what He wills for your marriage and your household!

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 ESV)

Superbook and Gizmo on the Go Touch the Lives of Kids in Parañaque

A superb experience for all the Batang Superbook!

Kids from Word for the World – International Christian Academy in Sucat, Parañaque, had a spectacular day with Gizmo and the Super Crew.

The fun started as the kids showcased their dancing skills during Gizmo’s Talent Show and enjoyed games testing their knowledge on Mathematics and more on Gizmo Quizmo!

Everyone who participated brought home amazing Superbook items. The kids and parents also watched the Superbook episode Joseph and Pharaoh’s Dream.

They were super thrilled to sing and dance along The Salvation Poem with Gizmo. Everyone prayed and accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

It was a meaningful day filled with hope, fun, and learning!

Angeline, 8 years old, is one of the Superbook fans who was grateful to be part of the event. She shared that by watching Superbook on television and on YouTube, she is learning more about Jesus. The show also introduced other Bible characters and biblical values to her home.

“I learned how to help others by watching Superbook,” Angeline said.

Nelgie, Angeline’s mother, is very grateful about how the show touches the lives of her children.

Superbook helped my kids grow in Jesus. They are excited to go to church every Sunday!” Nelgie said. With tears of joy, she shared her prayer for her children to keep growing closer to Jesus and be successful in life.

Julia Jarin, one of the Sunday School teachers, agreed and expressed that the show is an effective way of sharing the Good News to her students.

“More than a children’s animated show, Superbook is a tool for sharing the gospel to children and teaching them biblical values.”

As a Sunday School teacher for 4 years, Julia witnessed Superbook’s impact on kids and how they opened their hearts to learning about God.

“We are thankful that there is a television program that explains to children who Jesus is—that He is their Superhero and Friend!” Julia ended.

With Superbook team and Gizmo on the Go visiting different parts of the country, more and more children experience the saving love of Jesus Christ.

Superbook Makes Life-Changing Impact on a Young Girl and Her Teacher

Like many children, 11-year-old Czerina Adaya is heavily influenced by what she sees and hears on TV. Thankfully, watching Superbook inspires her to be obedient, polite, and God-loving.

Superbook taught me to obey my parents, to pray every day, and to avoid saying bad words,” says Czerina, who discovered Superbook through YouTube and a Bible study.

The grade 6 student loves the show so much that she could not contain her excitement when she joined Superbook’s Gizmo on the Go event at Robinsons General Trias Mall last week.

Czerina and all the certified Batang Superbook sang, danced, prayed, and played exciting games! They were all thrilled to meet the Super Crew and their favorite robot friend, Gizmo.

To Czerina, the part she enjoyed most was Gizmo Lab, where they were quizzed about their favorite subjects. She said it was an amazing experience as it was her first time on stage.

The kid is grateful that she continues to discover more about Jesus and His saving love in a fun way through Superbook and Gizmo on the Go. As she watches the show, Czerina also prays that her family would also experience the joy she found in Jesus.

“I know Jesus is my Lord and Savior, and I pray that He will also save my entire family,” Czerina shared.

She and her friends were accompanied by their Sunday school teacher, Melanie Luna from Jesus Is Lord Church, in General Trias, Cavite.

According to her teacher Melanie, watching Superbook is highly recommended by their church pastor because not only does it promote good values, but it also teaches biblical principles in an interactive and enjoyable way!

Seeing the positive impact Superbook has on her students, teacher Melanie encourages parents and teachers to let their children watch Superbook.

She hopes that instead of spending much time playing online games, more kids will be inspired to watch the show that helps with values formation. Teacher Melanie also hopes that through Superbook, God will continue to touch the hearts of both the young and the old.

“I pray that God will continue to bless the kids with strength, wisdom, and excellence, and that He will continue to help us parents and teachers in guiding our children’s spiritual walk. Even though we, too, are struggling, I pray that we will not give up,” she said. (allterrain.net)

How to Dad: 6 Helpful Tips to Be a Better Father

Being a father is one of the most fantastic gifts you can have in life. It is a beautiful opportunity that can bring great joy.

On the other hand, it can also bring great struggles. Why?

Because men are taught many things in life—how to play basketball, how to bike, work, or repair broken things at home—but no one is taught how to be a father. And unless you become one, most of the time you have no idea what it’s like to ride the rollercoaster called fatherhood.

Don’t worry, amazing dads. Beyond Small Talk is here for you!

Media practitioner and a father of five Anthony Pangilinan shares 6 helpful tips on how you can be a better haligi ng tahanan and be your child’s greatest M-E-N-T-O-R:

M – Meet them at their need

Some parents are too caught up in providing what they think is best for their child that they sometimes forget what their child actually needs.

Asking your child, “Is there anything you need?” or “How can I be a better parent?” can be nerve-racking, but  Focus on the Family suggests that you ask your child so you’d know how you can love them better.

It’s also good to consider that different people have different needs. You cannot assume that your panganay has the same needs as your bunso. When in doubt, ask! Whether they’re 8 or 18, ask and discover what each person’s unique needs are.

E – Encourage the heart

Do you frequently give your child praise, words of encouragement, or a pat on the back?

Fathers, encouragement is one of the best gifts you can offer to your child. Your positive words and supportive gestures don’t just inspire them—it helps them become strong individuals.

The Center on the Developing Child at Harvard University backs this up, suggesting that the single most common factor for developing resilience is the presence of at least one supportive adult in a child’s life. It’s time to be your child’s greatest cheerleader!

“Sometimes, encouragement means telling them, ‘You can do it, fight!’ or sometimes you just cry with them and say, ‘I grieve with you, son. I am sorry this happened.’ That’s both encouraging to the heart,” Anthony explains.

N – Nurture their skills

Although your child’s skills, knowledge, and talents can be honed in school, they will surely treasure the moments you support their dreams.

Unlock your child’s potential by providing them with the tools, materials, and opportunities that will further nurture their gifts.

As for Anthony, taking singing lessons with his daughter serves as a good avenue to nurture her skills and a great bonding experience for them, “Right now I am practicing singing with my 10-year-old daughter. Find their talent, and then you nurture the nature in them.”

T – Take time

Fathers are often too busy working to provide for their children, that sometimes they couldn’t find time to spend with them.

The trick is not to find time, but to make time. To intentionally set aside a moment to spend with your child. It doesn’t have to be a grand vacation—the little things and simple routines in your daily lives are great opportunities to strengthen your bond.

So whether it’s eating together, enjoying a movie marathon, or asking how their day went—you can make them feel that you are present in their lives and willing to give the necessary attention, love, and care they deserve.

O – Open doors

Not all fathers have the connections and resources to cement a successful future for their children. But if you do, you can help your child thrive in life by opening doors of opportunities for them.

“I do that for my kids,” Anthony said. “I tell them, ‘I know that person, do you want to have your internship there?’ or I ask my business partners if they want to partner with my children or get them as endorsers. You have to open doors of opportunities for your children.”

But what if you don’t have those kinds of connections? What if you have limited resources?

Fathers, it is best to rely on your limitless God. Ask for God’s provision and believe that He can supply the needs of your children.

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 ESV)

R – Reflect a life that they will want to live

To Anthony, living by example and inspiring your children would be the biggest challenge of all. Don’t worry if you fail at being the best dad sometimes. Truth is, there are no perfect fathers here on earth.

Thankfully, there is a perfect God who can help you to be a better father. So, seek God’s guidance in leading your family and living a life that reflects His love and goodness.

“There must be some inspiration in your life, too. It’s not that you are perfect—but you are struggling, you are in pursuit. God will honor that, and your children will see that. They will see God in your life. They will say, ‘Thanks, dad!’ Then you’ll say, ‘It’s not me. That’s Christ in me,’” Anthony ended.

For more tips about nurturing relationships, watch the upcoming webisodes of Beyond Small Talk every Saturday, at 7:00 PM, on The 700 Club Asia Facebook page and YouTube channel!
