Was there ever a time in your life when you thought everything was fine then suddenly, things just started to fall apart?

Out of nowhere, what seemed like a promising dream became a haunting nightmare.

Ligaya Antonio thought that she had a great and foolproof idea when she started joining the online selling trend. For her, it was a great opportunity to earn a lot of money while doing something she is very comfortable with.

In a few months’ time, Ligaya’s sales skyrocketed. At one point, she was able to earn as much as Php 200,000, which encouraged her to keep going. From time to time, she and her husband would go back and forth to Hong Kong to buy bags that she would sell for her online business.

But after a short period of time, her business dwindled due to the intense competition in the online market. Ligaya and her husband saw their resources decrease bit by bit, until it became difficult to make ends meet.

They were abundant in resources before, but they are lacking now.

“When our sales declined, our basic needs were affected. It was difficult to get by. We have to pay for our rent, we have to pay for our electricity, we have to think about our children,” Ligaya said.

This situation caused friction in Ligaya’s marriage and constantly caused numerous arguments between them.

During this time, she also had a mild stroke that brought a heavy toll on her life.

Challenges really surrounded Ligaya and her family that shook her to the core.

Where do you go for help?

Ligaya chose to remain faithful and run to God.

In spite of all that she and her family have been through, Ligaya held onto her faith and consistently honored God by supporting His ministry, The 700 Club Asia.

Ligaya explained, “The best way for me to express my gratitude for what God has given me is for me to give back to those that need help the most.”

She chose to give because she saw the good work that The 700 Club Asia was doing and felt inspired that her support had an impact on the lives of her kababayans. She wanted to bring change in their lives so even when she was struggling, she gave her best to become a fountain of blessing to others.

God saw her heart and He honored her giving.

With faith, Ligaya asked God for wisdom and direction as she tried to navigate her way out of her business problems. Thankfully, God did not disappoint her!

Just after a few months, her business picked up once again. God opened doors for her and gave her ideas to venture into selling diamonds, shoes, and clothes aside from just selling bags. More than the financial blessings, God allowed Ligaya to experience a new hope and a new life.

God also healed her completely from her mild stroke—her body recovered quickly, just like a stroke never happened.

“If I could meet God face to face, I would tell Him, ‘Thank you so much, Lord! Because it’s true, You never abandon all those who are faithful to You.’” she exclaimed.

Have you ever forgotten your promises to God? Arlene Delos Reyes got so distracted with the blessings she received that she failed to remember her commitment to God.

Arlene was unemployed when she discovered The 700 Club Asia. The show encouraged her to keep praying and hoping that she and her cousin will soon have a stable job to suffice their needs.

Despite being jobless, she started supporting God’s ministry by donating to CBN Asia. Like most people in desperate times, Arlene promised to God that she will be faithful in giving when she finds a job.

The Lord heard her cry and not long after that, He answered her prayers and gave her a job.

“I was so glad. I couldn’t express my happiness during that time because I could see that God was moving. From there, I saw how generous God is when we are faithful in giving,” Arlene said.

The Lord favored her so much that she was even able to buy a new house. Arlene was living her life with blessings after blessings, but she became distracted with all of it and forgot her promise to God. She soon stopped being a faithful giver.

After a few years, she lost everything she had acquired. Arlene can no longer pay her house’s monthly fees and she lost her job twice.

Imagine planning your family’s future and thinking that your life is already secured, then suddenly losing everything so quickly. Arlene started wondering, was it because she forgot about her promise to God?

She even admitted, “I was so preoccupied with all the blessings. In a blink of an eye, everything I ever enjoyed was taken away from me. It was hard for me.”

Arlene prayed and tried to restore her close relationship with the Lord. Because God is the God of second chances, she got another job as a fire dispatcher in the Middle East. This time, she is determined to honor her promise to God.

Arlene did not forget to thank God and get back to being faithful in supporting His ministry through CBN Asia.

“I am thankful that the Lord taught me how important it is to remember Him. Giving back to God is part of my life now,” Arlene testified.

Despite the pandemic, Arlene experienced the goodness, faithfulness, and freedom that comes from God. She’s grateful that He led her to CBN Asia to extend help to the people who need it the most.

Arlene is now debt-free and is continuously blessing the people around her. Not only does God bless her financially, He increased her faith.

Will True Love Ever Find Me?

“I don’t deserve to be loved.”

Coleen Barsibal believed this to be true after going through many traumatic experiences with family and romantic relationships.

It started with her father leaving them for another woman. Her mother was then diagnosed with schizophrenia, while her eldest sibling claimed their own life.

Since then, there wasn’t a permanent place that she could call home. She and her other siblings were passed on from one relative to another.

Did you experience the same problems, too? How did you overcome?

Coleen thought that the answer to her problems was doing vices with her friends. While these made her forget her problems, she eventually realized that it was only temporary, and these could not give her the genuine joy she seeks in life.

Believing her life was meaningless and pointless, Coleen also started entering romantic relationships. She urged her then-boyfriend to engage in sexual activities with her, despite him initially refusing to do it. He ended up cheating on her and breaking her heart.

She recalled asking herself, “My world crumbled down. I felt lonely again. My heart, body, and soul were so tired. Where is my life headed?”

At that moment, she asked God to give her the right man for her because she was tired of everything that she went through.

One day, she got an unexpected friend request on a social media site. It was from Sylverio, her classmate and crush from sixth grade. They started messaging each other, building a relationship together, and even co-habiting before they got married.

Is this finally the part where she finds peace and joy? Unfortunately, not.

Coleen found out that Sylverio has a child, and that the mother was using her child to get him back. One time when she called her boyfriend, the woman answered the phone and told Coleen that she’s in a hotel with Sylverio.

Although Sylverio ended up choosing Coleen over the other woman, she was still bothered and couldn’t sleep at night.

Thankfully, God had an amazing plan that would change Coleen’s life forever.

One sleepless night, she stumbled upon The 700 Club Asia, where she discovered that God loves her despite her past.

She prayed with the host and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. Her burdens felt lighter now that she has a personal relationship with God.

You can experience this miracle as well when you let Jesus into your life and believe that He can save you! According to Romans 10:9 (NIV), “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”

God did not only restore Coleen’s relationship with Him, but with her loved ones as well.

“I learned to forgive even when the person did not apologize to me. I can now tell my father, ‘I love you’ and to my siblings, ‘I forgive you’. That’s how powerful God’s love is,” she testified.

God also restored Coleen’s relationship with Sylverio, and they tied the knot in 2014. Thanks to The 700 Club Asia, she was able to find a Christian church where she and her husband can grow in faith.

They are now part of a discipleship group that helps them love and know Jesus deeper. The couple also publicly declared their faith through their baptism.

But that is not the end of God’s amazing blessings for Coleen. She also passed the nursing board exam and is now using her profession to show God’s love to others.

Coleen now proudly says, “Yes, I have finally found true love and it can only be found in God.”

A loving marriage was the dream. Growing up in a happy home, Leah Villarin always thought that getting married is the best thing that could ever happen in her life.

That was not until she found out that the love of her life was sleeping with another woman.

As she witnessed her husband’s infidelity, her dream quickly turned into a nightmare. Angry and disappointed, Leah held the knife and aimed it against her husband. She was overpowered by him and was unable to do anything about it.

Feeling defeated and miserable, she walked home alone.

Despite the painful memory of her cheating husband, Leah hoped that their marriage would still work out. But her husband was not done yet. It was not long before Leah found out that he had another affair.

Desperate to have her husband back, she marched to his mistress and begged on her knees to give back the love of her life. But the marriage contract she clung to wasn’t enough to save their already broken marriage.

With a broken heart, Leah had to accept the reality that their relationship was beyond repair.

Life continued for Leah. With her children’s growing needs in mind, Leah flew to Manila and took her chances. After landing a job as a mannequin model, she fell in love again with another man, Nestor, with whom she bore three children.

But love was not better the second time around for Leah.

In fact, her second love almost ended her life. Nestor became a drug addict and became abusive. Leah shared that Nestor tried to kill her with a bolo knife while she was sleeping. Holding on to dear life, Leah and her sons escaped Nestor’s unstable, abusive behavior.

For the second time around, Leah had to move on and start anew. But Leah, being a firm believer of true love, fell in love the third time. And for the third time, had her heart broken again.

Leah had enough this time. Filled with rage, pain, and regret, she questioned God about everything she went through.

“Do you hear me, Lord? What else do you want from me?! It’s better to just end this,” Leah recollected with tears.

Tired of love and depressed about her situation, Leah wanted one thing—she wanted to die.

Like Leah, have you ever had your heart broken after loving so much? Have you ever felt that you didn’t deserve what you’re going through, and you just wanted to end it all?

You are not alone.

In Leah’s darkest moment, God made her realize that there are people ready to listen to her story. She came across the numbers at The 700 Club Asia.

Without hesitation, Leah texted and pleaded for prayers as she wanted to kill herself that time. That same night, she received a phone call from the CBN Asia Prayer Center.

A call that would eventually turn her life around.

“I am so tired. I give up. I want to end this. This time I’ll really kill myself,” Leah recalled from that phone call.

From that phone call, she experienced the true and unchanging love she’s always been looking for. A redeeming love that made her realize how sinful and prideful she was and how deep God’s love for her is.

As Isaiah 54:10 says, “For the mountains may move, and the hills disappear, but even then my faithful love for you will remain.”

Even when everyone walks away from your life and turns their back against you, the love of the Lord will remain faithful. Even when everything you worked for turn into rubble, the Lord will be constant.

For Leah, there was nothing left to live for. But for Jesus, her best life was just about to unfold. Because of that phone call, she was able to connect to a local church where she grew deeper in her understanding of God’s love for her. She regained hope and faith that God will not leave her.

Leah praised God for the people He brought to her life in her darkest moments, especially, The 700 Club Asia.

Looking at her life, one might argue that believing in love again would be pointless. But for so long, Leah had a wrong understanding of what love is. Real love is this: to lay down one’s life for another. A kind of love that only Jesus can offer.

A kind of love that Leah experienced.

The kind of love that made her heal, hope, and love again.

Education is a basic human right, but for many people, it remains an unreachable dream. It is also considered as an undeserved privilege for families living in poverty who worry more about what they will eat to survive, and don’t have access to quality education.

Like the story of Marian Balmes.

Growing up with seven other siblings, Marian witnessed how her parents constantly fought because of lack of money.

Her father is a farmer, while her mother sells vegetables at the local market. What they could offer to their children was just food on the table and a shelter.

Education was not among the options.

Because of the constant fights between her parents and lack of provision in some cases, Marian felt deprived of parental love and care.

“There came a point that I craved to be taken care of and be loved by a parent,” she shared with tears in her eyes.

But her parents were busy making ends meet.

Thinking that they didn’t care enough for her, Marian grew up hard-hearted and rebelled against her parents.

This affected their family relationships. And when they couldn’t handle it anymore, Marian was sent to her sister’s home in Bulacan.

Little did she know, her life would change the moment she left home.

Marian realized that she needed to do something to change her rebellious ways to have a better life compared to what she grew up in.

For her, education is the answer. She was determined and was willing to change just for her parents to support her financially.

But when they couldn’t, her hope died. When she finally mustered the courage to change, no one showed up to help and support her.

It was like that for Marian, too.

On the verge of losing hope, her aunt, who is a pastor, encouraged her to sign up to the Back-to-School program of Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm.

This program aims to provide financial help to underprivileged yet deserving students. During the pandemic, this initiative also provided gadgets so that students can attend online classes.

It was in 2019 when Marian’s dream to go to college was answered by God through this very program.

She witnessed firsthand how God can make a way when there seems to be no way, and how God can provide support even when her family couldn’t.

With a renewed hope in her heart, Marian opened her heart to God. She grew a deeper understanding of God’s word. The Lord also softened her heart. That’s why now, she has a good relationship with her family, too.

Marian is in her 2nd year in college, pursuing a degree in elementary education. It’s in her heart to help children who have similar stories like hers.

In her own words, “My way of life changed. The person who was once a sinner, now became a servant of God.”

How to Find Hope in Troubled Times?

Have you had an experience where important things in your life were taken away from you?

Edwin Ducayag knows exactly how you feel. He felt that everything was taken away from him when a magnitude 7.3 earthquake shook their place in San Antonio, Bangued, in Abra.

Edwin was at home with his family when the earthquake happened. Their saw how the place they called home fell apart, leaving them with broken walls and broken appliances.

It was during that trying time that Edwin’s family couldn’t do anything but cry—seeing how the home they built for years crumbled right before their very eyes.

“I was in tears. I worked hard for this house for four years, but now, it’s gone,” Edwin lamented.

Along with their home and livelihood, the earthquake shattered their hopes, too. There was no clean water for them to drink and no food to fill their stomachs. Edwin didn’t know how to begin again. In his heart was discouragement and fear for possible aftershocks.

Like Edwin, are you experiencing troubles and difficulties, too?

In devastating times like this, God reminds through His Word that you can always find hope in Him. As Psalm 46:1 says, “God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.”

God hears your cries for help. Look to God for refuge and strength, for no situation is too hard for Him! God is with you, and He can use people who can help you in your situation.

Like what happened to Edwin and the rest of the people affected by the earthquake, God used Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, to answer their call for help.

Operation Blessing brought food bags and clean water that would last for a week. Most importantly, they shared hope to the residents—the kind of hope that can never be taken away by earthquakes or any disasters in life.  The hope that can only be found in Jesus.

Edwin is so grateful for the help they received from Operation Blessing. The help doesn’t end as Operation Blessing teams are still in Abra with the Philippine Army and CBN Asia partners who continuously offer relief to affected communities.

“To everyone who helped Operation Blessing reach our place, thank you very much! Hopefully, more blessings will come your way,” Edwin shared.

Indeed, there is a Savior, Jesus Christ, who is mighty to help you in times of trouble!

No matter what the future may bring, you can hope in Him. With His unfailing love, He will guide you, sustain you, and protect you.

“Let Your unfailing love surround us, Lord, for our hope is in You alone.” (Psalm 33:22 NLT)

“Only those who have plenty can afford to give.”
“There’s no benefit in giving, it is just a waste of resources.”

Have you had thoughts like these when you were asked to give or share your blessings?

It is human instinct to survive and thrive. Being limited in abilities and resources, it is innate for people to focus on their own needs.

In short, people are born takers. It is the reason why there is a struggle whenever there is an opportunity to give.

But like any other struggles, there is a way to win over it despite the lack, scarcity, and crisis.

Are you struggling to give?

Orlan Sacman can confidently attest that you can rise to the challenge and be a blessing to others despite your lack.

As the head of the family, one of his main responsibilities is to provide for the household. But as a full-time pastor who receives a meager allowance for his commitment, he had nothing else but his faith in God.

He trusted God to provide for their needs as he took care of God’s people.

Since it is human nature to depend on your own and to base your hopes on what your senses can perceive, most of the time, it’s easy to give in to worries and anxieties.

But Orlan, and his wife Lori, held on to their faith and believed in what God has spoken in Genesis 12:2 (NLT), “I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others.”

When they chose to live by faith and be a blessing, God opened doors of opportunities for them to bless others. They chanced upon The 700 Club Asia, and witnessed how Operation Blessing extended comfort to Super Typhoon Yolanda survivors.

They were inspired to pledge Php 500 monthly to bless their disaster-stricken kababayans and out-of-school youth who dreamed of finishing their studies but had no means to continue.

Through Operation Blessing, Orlan was able to reach people living in places he was not able to visit.

As they were faithfully giving to CBN Asia Family of Ministries, God led Orlan to start a widows’ ministry in His desire to minister to families who lost the pillars of their home.

“This ministry is given by God, and I will continue it as long as He wills. I always say, ‘It is God’s grace that I am entrusted. Even in little things we were able to share it, especially to the widows,’” Orlan shared.

The struggle whether to give or to keep ceased as they rely on God. They have cultivated the gift of giving in their hearts that it already became a habit.

God, who is their hope, rewarded their selfless giving and sacrifices.

His own child was able to graduate in college. His church allowance increased. And he was able to start a business. Aside from those material things, Orlan and his wife are grateful for the joy they experience because of giving.

“God continues to supply our needs. Thank God because Operation Blessing is our inspiration to do this ministry,” Orlan shared.

You can be honest with God and ask Him to show you how it is more blessed to give than to receive. As what Orlan testified, “You cannot outgive God. No matter how big or little, if your heart is to really help the people, the needy, and to give generously, the Lord will also bless you generously.”

Abandoned.

Fatherless.

Suicidal.

That was how Fatima De Guzman described herself when the dad she looked up to and adored walked away and left their family for another woman.

Fatima and her mother had to step up and fill the shoes of a father even though what happened was heartbreaking. Moving on from a good home and happy family was the only choice.

“My mom had to work. I had to take care of my siblings. We were all on our own.” Fatima painfully shared.

At that moment, she needed to be strong. She had to fight back the tears. Despite her suffering, she needed to carry on.

But the pain and the emotions she repressed eventually caught up.

“While I was washing the plates one night, I thought of killing myself with a knife because I thought there was nothing left to live for. What if I just ended this?” Fatima recalled.

Gladly, she didn’t push through with it. But the suicidal thoughts remained.

That same night, something divine happened. For some reason, she was led to sit beside their telephone rack where she saw a calendar of The 700 Club Asia. With a longing to be heard, understood, and released from her pain, she dialed the numbers from the calendar.

“I vividly remember what the prayer counselor said, ‘God has a plan for your life’,” Fatima recounted with tears.

Looking at her life, she found it hard to believe that God had a plan for her and her family. She burst into tears on that phone call.

Have you ever felt this way?

Let Fatima’s words bring encouragement to your heart.

“God made me realize that what I am going through is what He will use to make me stronger, that something beautiful will happen, that there is hope,” Fatima shared with conviction.

After that phone call, she found relief, peace, and a revelation that God indeed has a good plan for her. That phone call was God’s divine intervention.

Since then, Fatima has become an avid watcher of The 700 Club Asia. Through the program and the stories of how God changes lives, their family’s faith was strengthened.

After 8 long years of waiting, hoping, and wrestling in prayer, the reconciliation she wanted for her mom and dad finally happened. God also transformed her once drug-addicted father into a new man. Ultimately, God restored their broken home.

If God can reconcile and restore Fatima’s family, He can also do the same for you!

“Whenever I and my dad talked, he would say that it was not only him who learned but the whole family, ” Fatima happily shared.

She added, “While it was a long process, God was teaching all of us something. And what really helped was prayer.”

Truly, there is no family too broken or messed up that God can’t reunite. There is no trauma or scar too deep that can’t be healed. So, draw near to God and surrender.

Who knows? Maybe the reconciliation or healing you desire is at the end of your next prayer.

Now, Fatima is busy making new memories with her family. As she looks back, she thanks God for the CBN Asia Prayer Center because she found someone who listened and genuinely cared.

“I am really thankful to God for leading me to call the Prayer Center that night, that He intended for me to have someone to talk to. Because if not, I wouldn’t have experienced what God has planned for my life,” Fatima shared.

Fatima’s heart overflows with joy and gratitude for what God has done in her life. The truth that God changed and fixed her life fuels her worship.

“Jesus really is a superhero. He is the superhero of my life and my family,” Fatima ended.

Fernando Patulot has been addicted to drugs for 25 years.

His addiction caused big conflicts in their family. To sustain their everyday needs, his wife resorted to gambling which buried them deeper into debt.

“I was so hooked on drugs that I did not care about my family anymore,” Fernando recalled.

This addiction brought Fernando and his family to a place of utter mess. Everything was falling apart. His children were harboring hatred towards him and as if that’s not enough, his wife tried taking her own life.

More than anyone, Fernando’s wife was affected the most and everything became too much for her to bear.

Always remember that God is your living Hope. You can go to Him and ask help for any hopeless situation.

Although Fernando and his wife had a serious conversation about his vices, it still wasn’t enough to convince him to stop his addiction. Until one night, Fernando chanced upon The 700 Club Asia.

He was moved by the story of the testimony giver who was also addicted to drugs but came to know Christ and had his whole life transformed.

Fernando prayed with the host wholeheartedly and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.

“Lord, please forgive me. Make my paths straight. Teach me what to do,” he prayed.

Fernando started going to church. Slowly, God was able to free him from his addiction. Soon after, through their small business, they were able to pay off their debts.

A lot of people thought it was impossible for Fernando to change. Even his own family lost hope.

But his story is a reminder that when you allow God in your life, transformation can happen. The Lord is in the business of changing lives, and He will change your life if you let Him.

If you are you going through a difficult situation, it might be hard to believe that God is still good and that He cares for you.

It might be challenging to still see God as a good Heavenly Father because of the difficulties you experience.

Like you, Danilo Perez and his family also faced a very difficult and painful situation.

After 8 long months of waiting, Danilo’s wife—who had been pregnant with their third child—experienced a miscarriage.

“It was painful. We have waited for so long. I knew the baby was from God but now the baby is gone,” Danilo lamented.

Like Danilo, have you also lost something or someone so close to your heart?

In times like this, know that God sees you and He knows exactly how you feel. Psalm 34:18 says, “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

God has never left your side. He was, He is, and He will always be with you to carry you through. Just like how He carried Danilo through his troubles.

In their dark situation, Danilo and his wife lost their focus and failed to manage their business well.

But despite all these, Danilo did not lose hope. He continued to praise God, “You are always faithful in our lives, we will hope in You alone. We will put our trust in You.”

Danilo sees God’s goodness in times of troubles. By watching The 700 Club Asia, he was inspired to give and has experienced a different kind of joy. Despite what they were going through, he remained faithful in his giving.

“God is truly good and He gives us opportunities to be used by Him and be of blessing to others,” Danilo said.

His faith grew stronger and he believed that despite what happened, God can still bless them with another child, “I am really hoping in God, He is a good and generous God.”

Through God’s grace, Danilo’s wife got pregnant again. However, on the third month, she experienced heavy bleeding. The couple feared that they might lose their baby.

Once again, Danilo called to God, and God heard his prayers! He has given them a healthy baby boy, and they named him Daniel.

God’s faithfulness did not end there. He expanded their business and blessed them with their own car. Danilo was overflowing with joy and was very grateful to God for how He has been using The 700 Club Asia to reach many lives!

Indeed, no matter what hardship you face, God remains as a good and faithful Heavenly Father. In Nahum 1:7 it says, “The Lord is good, a strong refuge when trouble comes. He is close to those who trust in Him.”

He can transform your dark situation into a powerful testimony of His goodness!
