Teach your Kids about Jesus this Holy Week – Here are 5 Lessons from Superbook

Do you want your kids to know more about Jesus this Holy Week season?

Watch the Superbook Holy Week Marathon with your whole family on the Batang Superbook Facebook page LIVE from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, 3:00 PM, and learn these amazing lessons about Jesus this Holy Week.

1. Jesus was baptized even though He didn’t have to.

Jesus got baptized to fulfill the prophecy that He is the Messiah. In the “John the Baptist” episode, when John baptized Jesus, a dove came over Him and God spoke that He is the Son whom God is well-pleased.

Being baptized is Jesus’ way of fulfilling His role as the obedient and devoted Son of God. Jesus’ obedience to God’s will resulted in the salvation of many people.

2. Jesus’ miracles build faith.

In the Superbook episode, “Miracles of Jesus”, Jesus healed the sick, calmed the storms, and drove evil spirits away! He did all these impossible things because He wants people to have faith in Him as the Son of God and to help them build their faith muscle.

You can believe that no matter how difficult a challenge can be, Jesus can make things possible.

3. Jesus is a humble King.

In “The Last Supper” episode, Jesus rides a donkey during His triumphant entry to Jerusalem. Later, He washed His disciples’ feet. His actions are things that kings never do!

Even though He’s a king, Jesus showed humility. Jesus’ action sets an example for believers to be humble servants just like Him.

4. We were saved from sin and death by God’s love.

Sin separates people from God, and no one can remove their sins based on their own efforts. Because God loves people so much, He sent Jesus to be the perfect sacrifice for their sins.

Because of what Jesus did, men are saved from eternal death, the consequences of sin. This is God’s perfect love for mankind – taking upon Himself the punishment meant for humans.

5. Jesus is alive!

After three days, Jesus was raised from the dead. Through His death and resurrection, the relationship between God and mankind has been restored.

His resurrection also proved that death is not the end of life and sin has no power over His children anymore. If a person leaves this life, he will spend eternity with Jesus in heaven. Jesus wants to spend eternity with everyone, that’s why He commanded His followers to share the story of His resurrection.

Holy Week is yearly observed to remember God’s great love when He saved mankind from sin through His death and resurrection. This is a great time to go to church to pray and reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice on the Cross.

Help your kids learn more about the Holy Week through Superbook. Watch the Superbook Holy Week Marathon with the whole family on the Batang Superbook Facebook page! LIVE from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, 3:00 PM.

Do You Feel Like Your Life is Falling Apart?

“My life is falling apart…”

These were the thoughts running through Flordeliza Lalic’s head as she endured one setback after another.

Everything of her family’s possessions was destroyed in the 1991 Mt. Pinatubo eruption. With 2 children to support, her husband loaned money so they could start anew. However, on his way home, he was robbed and stabbed to death.

“My husband took out a Php 38,000 loan. On his way home, he was called by a group of drunk men who saw the money in his wallet. They went after him and ended his life,” she recalled.

Desperate and hopeless, Flordeliza fell on her knees to pray. She asked God to help her and give her hope. She asked God to give her a job so that she could support her children.

“Lord, please help me. I need to raise my children well,” she prayed.

Are you also facing challenges after challenges?

No matter how difficult life may be, there’s always hope!

It was also during this time that she chanced upon The 700 Club Asia. She found encouragement in the story of the testimony giver whose generosity to the ministry was repaid by God with a shower of blessings. Flordeliza was moved to give Php 300.

“I asked how to donate to The 700 Club Asia because I really wanted to,” she shared.

A few days after, she was recommended by a friend to a Korean employer who offered her a job as a caretaker. Along with this, is a salary good enough to take care of their family’s needs.

Because of this, she was able to provide for her children and send them to school. Now, she has stopped working because her daughter, who already graduated from college, volunteered to be the breadwinner of the family.

On top of the blessing, they have now acquired a new home and started their sari-sari store business!

God’s presence, help, and comfort are truly ever-present in times of difficulty. After everything Flordeliza has gone through, God was there to rescue her.

He can do the same for you. If you feel like your life is falling apart, call unto Jesus, and He will be your ever-present help.

“Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for You are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me.” (Psalm 23:4 NLT)

What If God Calls You to Give, But You Do Not Have Enough to Offer?

Would you be afraid? Or would you trust God?

Marie Betita, a Real Estate Agent, was called by God to give. However, she finds it difficult to give back to God because her husband is unemployed, and she is the sole breadwinner of their family. Thinking about the bills to pay and the expenses, she hesitates to do so.

Marie came to the point when she asked God to lend her money for her tithes, “I promised God that I would give if He could lend me some money.” Marie added that she cannot imagine that she was asking God for that.

One night, God touched her heart to respond to her calling when she watched The 700 Club Asia. She saw kids going to feeding programs to eat and did not have clean water to drink. It reminded her how blessed she is.

Do you have the same mindset as Marie?

“I have clean water to drink. I also have a job. All I need to do is to trust God. Though I do not have enough now, I was eager to give,” said Marie.

So, when Marie received her paycheck, she donated to God’s ministry.

God honored her obedience. Marie closed a deal and received Php 60,000 with Php 2,500 commission. She then decided to give her commission to The 700 Club Asia.

God proved she can never outgive Him!

Her Php 2,500 donation multiplied up to Php 70,000 when she sold a house! Marie’s doubts about giving to God perished when she learned how God works. All she needs to do is to trust the Lord with all her heart.

Marie feels like her cup is overflowing. As she responded to God’s call through giving, her whole life changed. He even surprised her with a house and lot that she won from a company raffle!

Indeed, God works beyond what we can think or imagine. As promised in His Word:

“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (Luke 6:38 NIV)

Is God calling you to give but you feel like you do not have enough to offer?

Trust God and hold on to His promises. Because when God calls you to do something, He will provide everything you need to follow Him.

Do you want to give and be blessed like Marie? You can partner with us and be a blessing to our kababayans!

God, It’s Hard for Me to Forgive!

This is what Jennifer Tadiin cried out to God.

Forgiving people who hurt her, especially her absent father, seemed like an impossible task for Jennifer.

Are you also struggling to forgive someone? Let her story encourage you.

Jennifer was only 6 years old when her parents separated. She was left with her mother when her father abandoned them and had a new family.

She felt the absence of her father and longed for his love.

But then, the longing was replaced with hatred. She hated her father and those who ruined her family, that she even planned to take revenge against them.

To fill the void in her heart, Jennifer entered romantic relationships and prioritized her peers. Yet no matter what she did, she still felt empty.

Like Jennifer, are you trying to fill a void in your heart?

Do you also look for love in all the wrong places?

Thankfully, everything started to change when a friend invited her to a Christian church. She found God-loving people who understand her and helped her deepen her relationship with God. Jennifer was filled with genuine happiness, peace, and love from God through His Word.

As Jennifer’s faith and relationship with God grew, she realized that she needs to forgive those who hurt her. But forgiving her father wasn’t easy.

“Forgiving him was a struggle. I kept on telling God that I surrender every unforgiveness, but why is it that I still feel hatred and anger?” Jennifer cried.

Do you also struggle with forgiveness that no matter how many times you try and surrender it to God, you still feel hatred?

Keep surrendering your burdens to God and He will surely help you in His time, like how He helped Jennifer.

One night as Jennifer was watching The 700 Club Asia, God revealed to her that forgiveness does not happen overnight. Forgiveness is a choice that we must make every day and it is a process where God is our source of help.

Jennifer decided again to surrender her wounds to God and by His grace, she was able to forgive.

“I realized that the forgiveness we receive from God is the same forgiveness that we can give to others. I thought I couldn’t forgive but now that I am a Christian, by His grace, I can forgive.”

God also made a way for Jennifer to find her father through social media. Every conversation went well, it was as if nothing had happened. It was because she has forgiven her father.

Now, the freedom from anger and unforgiveness became Jennifer’s inspiration to start her Facebook Page, You’re Special, where she shares the love that can be found in Jesus.

Are you struggling with unforgiveness, too?

Know that God understands you.

Let Him heal your wounds, and trust His timing and process. Let Jennifer’s realization be also your revelation that the forgiveness that you receive from Him is the same forgiveness that you can give. Remember how He has forgiven you.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the Lord. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” (Isaiah 1:18 NIV)

How to Find Hope When Suffering Doesn’t Stop?

When pain, pressure, and distress won’t stop, how can we trust that God is good when everything else isn’t?

How can we believe that what’s breaking us is saving us?

Whether you relate to these questions or not, Lovely Cajucom’s story will surely help you shed light on every trial that may come your way.

After being a longtime employee, Lovely and her husband started a fruit shake business which eventually became a successful venture. Having lived paycheck to paycheck for a long time, Lovely’s family finally experienced a comfortable life – with grocery shopping carts always filled to the brim and every child’s need fulfilled.

Sadly, after 2 years, that short-lived success became a memory with the closure of their business during the pandemic.  Without any other source of income, they had to survive with their small savings which quickly ran out.

From having much to barely making ends meet, their family was in a financial crisis.

“That time, we could only afford 2 meals per day,” Lovely recalled.

That same year, Lovely, who was hardly resolving their financial dilemma, faced the death of her beloved aunt to Stage 3 Breast Cancer. An incident that brought Lovely deeper into despair.

At the time, Lovely shared that she began to question the goodness of God.

“Lord, we haven’t even survived our business problem yet. Why?” Lovely recounted in tears.

Are you trying to gasp for air because life has been drowning you with problems?

And are you wondering if there is truly a purpose behind your suffering?

Know that there is no trial without purpose in the eyes of God. Believe that your distress or pain becomes the very place where you will experience freedom, healing, and restoration.

Lovely experienced this when God met her in her despair in a very personal way through The 700 Club Asia. When she could no longer carry her burdens, she found rest when as prayed along with the hosts.

Encouraged by the prayers, Lovely’s faith was rekindled. She learned to hold firm to God and His promises even more.

Responding to the promises in Jeremiah 29:11 which says, “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’” Lovely gave Php 500 when she only had Php 600 in her wallet.

She realized that her suffering could strengthen her faith and inner spirit.

Could it be that what you’re going through is God’s way of making Himself known to you?

While there might be a million reasons to give up, choose to persevere and look to the promise that God is working things out as you place your faith in Him.

After that faith decision to give, God gave Lovely the wisdom to start selling their mango shake online. A strategic move that soon got their business back at its feet.

“We only prayed to sell just 10 cups, but God blessed us with 100 orders,” Lovely gratefully shared.

Not too long after, Lovely’s faith was tested once again when her business partner and husband got infected with COVID-19. With that, Lovely began to question God why their family is going through all this.

But this seemingly bad news was a blessing in hindsight. God used this sickness to draw his husband closer to God through The 700 Club Asia. As she held on to faith, not only did Lovely witness God’s healing over her husband but also an awakening of her husband’s faith.

God continuously provided for every need and in return, Lovely faithfully gave back to God and donated again to His ministry through CBN Asia. And as they gave, God gave them even more.

Not long after, God opened an opportunity for their business to grow even more by blessing them with a stall in a park. In 2021, God blessed them even more after joining a Christmas bazaar, which was followed by another business opportunity. God truly overwhelmed them with blessings they couldn’t contain.

“We had an income of 6 digits. Our products got sold out in 3 hours. All the suffering we’ve been through was overwhelmed by God’s blessing,” Lovely proudly shares.

God’s blessing did not end there. He blessed them with a motorcycle that they are using for their business.

While all that they went through brought them pain and despair, it gave them something that led to their breakthrough: a newfound faith in Jesus and His promises.

Truly, every struggle is an opportunity for us to grow and practice our faith. As stated in James 1:2-4,

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”

“I learned to trust and hold on to God. I am thankful to God because through Him, I was able to come out victoriously from my struggles,” Lovely shared.

Lovely’s story is a testament that what the enemy meant for evil, God meant for our own good. While it may be tempting to doubt that God has a good purpose for our trials, choose to believe the promises in Psalms 37:13 – 14:

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
So even on your hard days, we can be confident that all will be made well in time. In lack, the Lord shall provide. In pain, the Lord shall bring healing. In dead situations, the Lord will give life.

So when suffering won’t stop, we don’t give in and give up. Instead, we hold on to His love and declare that though the time isn’t now, we will soon see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

This suffering will accomplish its purpose.

Bedridden Teenager Experiences God’s Miracle

Are you praying for healing?

If you are severely sick or you know someone who is bedridden, let Ricardo Gayo’s story give you hope. He was diagnosed with 3 fatal diseases.

Ricardo grew up in a religion where it’s forbidden to read the Bible, so he constantly smoked cigarettes and drank alcohol. He thought nothing was wrong with these vices.

At the early age of 13, Ricardo chanced upon a few episodes of The 700 Club Asia.

“I was amazed by how God shows His power. But that’s it,” he said. It was not enough to push him to be better.

Despite his enjoyment of a ruleless life, Ricardo started experiencing physical discomfort, chest pains, and shortness of breath. And at 15 years old, he was diagnosed with a severe heart problem.

Imagine how stressful and hopeless a teenager feels after being told that his heart is failing. The thought of not affording hospital fees and medicines has drained his energy.

While he was still looking for a cure for his cardiac problem, another disease arose. It was just as bad as the first one, cancer of the blood cells–Leukemia.

Without enough money to address these diseases, Ricardo stayed at home and treated himself the best he could.

But his diseases worsened.

“My sickness kept me awake all the time. I had no appetite, so I kept losing weight. My fingers were already turning purple. Every day, I felt more fragile.” Ricardo expresses his burden.

His sister witnessed Ricardo’s heartbreaking situation, “We still had a traditional thermometer before, and I really saw the red line reach the end. That’s how high his fever was.”

Just when he thought that two diseases are difficult enough, here comes a third one.

The doctors told him he had malaria of the brain.

“You only have 3 days to live,” the doctors finally said.

The small amount of hope Ricardo had before is now completely gone. He just laid on his bed and accepted his death.

Ricardo’s mother came to him on his bed and cried. He always argued with his mother before, so he didn’t expect that she would be the one earnestly praying for his healing.

She held his hand and asked him to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Thinking that he was about to die, he invited and accepted Jesus in his heart.

He suddenly recalled watching The 700 Club Asia when he was younger.

“I heard them say that if you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you will experience a miracle.”

After his mother’s prayer, he fell into a deep sleep like never before. He woke up feeling renewed and replenished. He simply described it as instant healing.

They returned to the hospital and all the tests came back negative. All his diseases are now cured. He is healed.

“The testimonies I watched before really helped me. I realized that God was already preparing me at that time,” he said, smiling.

At the age of 21, he offered his life to God as a preacher in a Christian church.

And after a few years, he now has his own family who serves God with him.

Ricardo’s life has made him testify of the goodness of God, “He is really the God of healing. What may seem impossible to men is really possible with God.”

Are you already losing hope because of a sickness?

Draw near to God, now more than ever. Seek and follow His Words. Put your trust in His power and believe that He can restore your strength.

My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” – Proverbs 4:20-22

Kids in Bukidnon Share Meaningful Takeaways from Superbook’s “The Good Samaritan” Episode

“Let us love our neighbors and help them the best way we can!”

This was the lesson learned by the children in Can-ayan Integrated School in Malaybalay, Bukidnon, when they watched the Superbook episode, “The Good Samaritan” as part of the Gizmo on the GO! event last January.

All the kids got so hooked on watching the episode and found themselves relating to the characters while taking home powerful lessons from the story!

When asked about her favorite scene in “The Good Samaritan” episode, grade 5 student Kyline Silmaro shared, “I like the part when the Samaritan helped the wounded man on the road.”

After watching the episode, Kyline learned that we should be kind and loving to others because this is what God desires for all His children.

“The priest in the parable did not help the wounded man. But the Samaritan even took him to an inn and paid for his stay! (www.louismassaro.com) ”

Kyline realized that the Samaritan’s kindness mirrored what Jesus did for us. “He helped us by dying on the Cross and was raised back to life so our sins will be forgiven.”

Grade 6 student Dominick Binahon felt the pain of the wounded man on the road as a familiar situation came across his mind.

“I felt a bit sad because I remembered the time when no one helped me when I was hungry and had no money to buy food,” Dominick recounted. “Good thing my best friend was there to help me get by the day.”

Through Superbook’s “The Good Samaritan” episode, Dominick learned to show love, kindness, and respect to every person he will meet.

Anjalina Esoy was also able to relate to the story of the “The Good Samaritan.”

“I helped my younger sibling who was being bullied. We confronted the bully and asked him to apologize to my younger sibling. I also encouraged my sibling to forgive the child who bullied him,” Anjalina shared.

She continued, “I learned from Superbook’s ‘The Good Samaritan’ that we should love, respect, and help each other.”

Many children are learning good values and getting closer to God through Superbook!

Make God Your Business Partner

Many people can attest to the fact that running a business is not easy.

One of them is Ria Repalda, a former IT consultant turned entrepreneur.

Ria enjoyed cooking and frequently brought her homemade gourmet meals to their office. Her coworkers began paying her to prepare their lunches since they enjoyed her cooking. This paved the way for the beginning of her business.

“I brought my food in the office, and they started ordering from me,” she gladly shared.

Ria was not only an excellent cook but also a very faithful partner of CBN Asia. She watched the show, The 700 Club Asia, because she saw how individuals change, especially when they practice giving. The encouragement inspired her to keep up her regular donations.

By God’s grace, her profits increased! From having an online food business, she was able to obtain a space for her first restaurant. But what Ria thought was the start of her triumph turned out to be one of the hardest challenges she encountered.

Her sales on her first day were Php 990.

“We only had four customers on the first day of our opening. I told my husband, we’re paying Php 25,000 in rent. With these earnings, how can we survive?” she shared.

Are you running a business too? What are the current challenges you are facing?

Despite the challenges, Ria did not stop giving to The 700 Club Asia.

After nine days, she received an investment worth Php 4.5 million for her business! Their building owner also partnered with her—which gave her free rent. Ria witnessed God’s faithfulness through her business. Now, her restaurant has a franchise in Quezon City and Cavite!

The Bible says in Deuteronomy 15:10, “You shall give to him freely, and your heart shall not be grudging when you give to him, because for this the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all that you undertake.”

Indeed, there is no way we can outgive God! He takes whatever you offer Him and increases it a thousandfold.

If you’re having trouble with your business, ask for God’s help. Make Him your partner, and trust that He will provide!

You can also support The 700 Club Asia as Ria does. Visit our telethon page to know how you can give.

If you need prayers, the CBN Asia Prayer Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Send us your prayer requests immediately, or call us at 8737-0700.

God Hears the Cry of Your Heart

What are you crying out to God today?

He is not deaf to the pleas of your heart.

God understands your sorrow and He will save you just like how He did with Jhona Balitaosan and her family.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Jhona and her husband were one of those people who lost their jobs. They were devastated. Worry and fear crept in as they think of solutions on how to sustain their family’s daily needs.

“We don’t know how to restart our lives,” Jhona shared.

Are you in the same position? Hopelessness takes over you and you can’t seem to find the light in the darkness you are in.

Jhona’s youngest child could not bear what happened to their family, and he got sick. He was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. As a parent, there’s nothing more painful than to see your child suffering.

“Our hearts are breaking to see our youngest child in this state. We were hopeless. We lost our joy. I was crying to God for a miracle,” she said as tears run down her face.

Jhona did not know what to do. Every day she was filled with worry because they did not have the means to pay for the medication for their child.

Yet in the middle of a very difficult trial, God made a way.

God used The 700 Club Asia Facebook Page to let her feel that she was not alone in this battle. Through the online shows and testimony videos she watched, she regained her hope to believe in God’s power to do a miracle in her family!

“I have watched a video featuring Alex Tinsay, and I cried out to God to heal my son and to deliver our family from this trouble,” she said.

Touched and encouraged by the content she saw, Jhona messaged The 700 Club Asia Facebook Page and shared her prayer concerns. She found someone who will stand by her!

Not long after, God answered her prayers…

Truly, “When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” (Psalm 34:17 ESV)

God used Jhona’s friend to bless them financially, more than enough for her family to move into a new house and start a convenience store! Her husband also got his job back.

May Jhona’s testimony encourage you that even though things are against you, you can cry out to God and trust that He can turn things around for your good.

“God has been faithfully providing for our needs and the needs of my son. He turned my sorrow into joy,” she shared with gladness in her heart.

It says in Psalm 40:1 ESV, “I waited patiently for the Lord; He inclined to me and heard my cry.”

God is listening to your prayers. He will help you and deliver you from trouble because He loves you. Trust in His Word and hold onto His faithfulness.

Like Jhona, do you need someone to pray for you? We are here for you. Give CBN Asia Prayer Center a call at 8-737-0-700.

Caviteña Mom Recommends Superbook to Parents with Techy Children

From street games such as piko, tumbang preso, and luksong tinik, children are now spending more time on computer games, mobile apps, and television.

Mina Paragoyo is a mom who witnessed that change in hobbies and entertainment in today’s new generation.

Now that she has kids, she said that it has really been challenging to limit the use of technology in children. Some schools require the use of laptops. Communication with a distant loved one requires an Internet connection. Even shows and movies are watched online.

Joaquin, Mina’s 6-year-old first-born, is a part of this generation and he genuinely enjoys playing games on his gadgets for long hours. Despite that, Mina always finds time to remind Joaquin to watch Superbook.

“Kids nowadays have different interests. But I make sure that I include Superbook into my son’s screen time because I see that he enjoys and learns from it, too.” Mina says.

The Caviteño mom added, “Every time Joaquin watches Superbook, I notice that his attitude improved. He sometimes asks why the bad guys do bad things, and what’s good about Superbook is that they are really clear in explaining.”

“Since the kids cannot read at an early age, Superbook is a big help. Stories in an animated format help kids visualize the Bible at a level that they will understand,” she said.

After finding out that Gizmo will be in their school event in Molino 4, Bacoor Cavite, Mina said that Joaquin felt really excited that he even helped in preparing before they leave to see Gizmo.

When asked about his favorite Superbook episode, Joaquin said that he liked Moses’ story the most. “Moses did the right thing,” he said.

Despite his shy attitude, extreme joy flooded Joaquin’s eyes when he was in line to take a photo with Gizmo. Even after his picture was taken, his attention was fixed on our robot friend, showing that he knew Gizmo from the Superbook episodes he watched.

Mina started showing the Superbook episodes to Joaquin as early as he was 4 years old. She said parents should encourage their children to watch Superbook and left this message for all the parents who have kids that are spending too much time on gadgets and the Internet:

“The media has all kinds of violent and unpleasant videos that might expose your child to the wrong outlook in life. Superbook breaks that cycle and helps remind the kids about good values and the Word of God. Because of activities like Gizmo on the GO!, I was reminded that I should let my kids watch Superbook more often.”

Do you want your kids to learn more about the Bible, too? Follow Batang Superbook on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok to watch different Superbook episodes your kids can enjoy.
