What to Pray for this Holy Week?

Now that many communities are back to Enhanced Community Quarantine, a lot of people are left wondering: when will this pandemic end?

Nobody knows for sure, except God.

But if there is one thing you can be sure of, it is this: God hears prayers. That’s why this Holy Week, take this perfect opportunity to pause, ponder, and pray.

As God says in 2 Chronicles 7:14 NIV, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

  1. Pray for your family

“Heavenly Father, thank You for everything that You have done and continue to do in the lives of my loved ones.

I trust that You love them more than I do, and You are willing to take away any fear, any sickness, or anxiety that they feel. Thank You for drawing them close to Your heart, and I pray that You will continue to protect, bless, and meet them in their point of need.”

  1. Pray for frontliners and all essential workers

“Lord, amid the lifesaving work of our frontliners, health experts, and essential workers, we know that they are exhausted. They’re risking their lives in the front lines while barely having the time to look after themselves or their own families. But Lord, we know that their work is not in vain!

We ask for your mighty hands to sustain and protect them. Thank You for pouring out Your grace, mercy, and provision to their families. I declare that You will restore them physically, mentally, and most importantly, spiritually.”

At this very moment, Father, may You touch the hearts of all the world leaders so they will work in harmony. Give them the courage to make bold decisions according to Your will, and according to what is good and pleasing to You. May You use this time to turn their eyes upon You.”

3 Keys to Effective Prayer, According to Tanikala Actress Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz

What are you praying for today?

Whatever you may be praying for — healing, restoration of relationships, or provision — you can be assured that God acts on your behalf. But do you know that the condition of your heart when you pray is such an important factor to bring God’s response?

This Holy Week, unlock the 3 keys to effective prayer according to Tanikala presents Isa Pang Hiling actress Lara Quigaman-Alcaraz:

Key #1: Simply pray

Prayers are powerful – there’s no single ounce of doubt about that.

Prayers are powerful because the God who hears them is all-powerful. Likewise, the effectiveness of your prayer does not rely on rituals, length, or big words. Prayers don’t have to be complicated.

So, what does it take for your prayers to be effective?

Simply pray. Do not heap up empty phrases (Matthew 6:7) and simply present your honest self to your Heavenly Father. That said, there is no limit as to when and where you can pray!

Key #2: Pray with faith

Do you pray confidently? Do you pray in faith?

Prayer and faith go hand-in-hand because, without faith, it is impossible to please God! (Hebrews 11:6). That’s why when you pray, you must believe and not doubt at all (James 1:6).

If you pray about something yet you still worry about it, isn’t it defeating the purpose of praying? Let go of your worries and doubts.

Have faith that there is a loving God who hears your prayers. Have faith that He will answer. Have faith that whatever you are praying for right now, know that it is safe in God’s hands.

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” (Mark 11:24 ESV)

Key #3: Pray with thanksgiving

Through prayers, bodies are healed, relationships are restored, lives are transformed.

That’s how good God is. And praying is not just about presenting your requests to God; it is also an opportunity to worship God and reflect on His goodness.

Saying “thank you, God,” covers a lot of things. First, it is a powerful act of acknowledging that God is in control. Second, it pleases Him when you pray without ceasing and give thanks in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18).

So if you’re praying for something and it’s a yes, a not yet, or even a loving no from God, pray with thanksgiving. After all, whatever the outcome is, God is worthy of praise and honor.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” (Philippians 4:6 ESV)

But before you focus on the results of your prayers, know that praying is a blessing itself. Imagine, an opportunity where you can commune with the Creator of heaven and earth!

And though He wants to bless your prayers, God does not want you to place your faith in the outcome. He wants you to place your faith in Him.

“God’s outpour of blessings did not stop. Here’s what He did in our lives_4

“God’s outpour of blessings did not stop. Here’s what He did in our lives”

Lourdes Cresencio blurted out these words. She could not believe the miracle that was set before her eyes.

Before that, Lourdes remembered experiencing an extreme low when she suffered a heart attack while her husband suffered a stroke. They were caught off-guard. They had no money to cover their medical expenses that amounted to more than a million pesos.

“I asked, ‘Why is this happening to us? We were so unprepared financially, yet I believed that God would not allow situations that I cannot handle,” Lourdes recalled. She was left with Php 6,000 in her pocket after trying to sell their property to no avail.

They had nowhere to run but to the merciful arms of God.

In the midst of her despair, Lourdes chanced upon The 700 Club Asia and was moved by the story of a woman who learned how to give even though she, too, was in dire need.

Boldly holding onto God’s promises of healing and provision, Lourdes faithfully supported God’s work by donating to the CBN Asia.

“Even when we got sick, we did not stop giving because I know who my God is. I know that He will finish what He has started,” Lourdes hoped.

True as they say, God moves in miraculous ways. God honored Lourdes’ generous and obedient heart. Just a week after she made her donation, the outpour of miracles started.

It was effortless and trouble-free! Someone reached out to me and wanted to purchase our property. God was really faithful to us,” she shared.

Apart from that blessing, Lourdes’ husband was discharged from the hospital for freeWhat happened next further solidified her faith, stirred her love for God, and strengthened her belief in giving.

God’s outpour of blessings did not stop there. I recovered from my sickness and was told that I did not need to undergo any medical operation. All my medical needs were met. I was in awe of how God miraculously moved in my life!

Do you also want to experience God’s outpour of blessings in your life?

Out of her own need, Lourdes gave to the work of God. If God honored her heart, it could happen to you as well! As you give generously and freely, may you experience His blessing in all your work and in everything you put your hand to.

Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to. (Deuteronomy 15:10 NIV)

11112020_Affected by Disasters Here are 6 Ways to Help You Cope

Affected by Disasters? Here are 6 Ways to Help You Cope

Super Typhoon Rolly wreaked havoc in the Bicol region and nearby provinces last week. Inquirer reported that according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), the typhoon was by far the strongest this year.

Disasters like typhoons can have a lasting impact on people’s lives. It can serve as a lesson to better prepare people for the next calamities or it can cause traumas and anxieties among those who were severely affected. It can take a heavy toll on people’s physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual health.

So, how do you cope with disastrous events such as super typhoons?

Here are 6 things you can do to help yourself and your family overcome catastrophic events.

1. Take care of yourself

It may be hard to start at first but taking care of yourself is an important part of coping with disasters. Make sure you continue with your normal routines such as eating healthy, getting enough sleep and exercising regularly. Verywell Mind says that practicing self-care will help you cope better physically, mentally, and emotionally.

2. Limit sources of stress

One of the helpful steps you can do following a disaster is to stay away from sources that add stress.

This could mean lessening your exposure to visual pictures of this event. It is wise to be informed but it is also wise to prevent yourself or others, especially children, from anything that may add feelings of fear and anxiety brought by this natural disaster.

3. Talk about it

Voicing out your feelings to your family on how this event has affected you can help alleviate stress It can comfort you knowing that others share the same sentiments, too

Verywell Mind also explains that early intervention, resources, and support from others can be a major factor in helping people overcome the negative impact of a catastrophic event. Reaching out to people can make a huge difference.

4. Get professional help for mental and emotional distress

Are you extremely disturbed about the recent disaster?

If you feel that this event has caused you post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), a type of trauma that resulted from natural disasters, do not be afraid to seek professional help from psychiatrists, psychologists, or counselors. Treatments can range from series of psychological therapies to medication that would help you go through this very challenging season.

5. Find ways to help others

You may be on the other side of the boat who just witnessed a member of your family or friend go through a tough time during a disaster. One way you can lessen their burden is to reach out and extend a helping hand.

In the article Are We Biologically Wired to Help Others During Crisis?, Psychology Today stated that according to research, a particular part of the brain is activated when people donate to causes they care aboutHelping others can give you a sense of purpose, that even in bad situations, you can make a positive impact in the lives of people.

Iyou have the resources, you can partner with the Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines and lend a helping hand to those who were also severely affected by the typhoon.

6. Pray for your family and community

One of the best ways to rise above this disastrous event is to look out for each other, pray for one another, and lean on God as your source of hope and strength.

Matthew 18:20 NIV says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them.”

At times like this, coming together in prayer and promoting peace encourage people not to stay in that place of despair. It is an opportunity to know God more and reassure yourself and others that He is your comfort in times of trouble.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 NIV)

If you and your family are deeply affected by this disastrous event, we would love to comfort you through prayers. You may reach out to the CBN Asia Prayer Center or send your prayer requests to our Facebook page.

10222020_Do Miraculous Healings Still Happen Today

Do Miraculous Healings Still Happen Today?

Inutile. Hopeless. Better off dead.

These are the words that Joseline Adversalo used to describe herself when she found out that she has rheumatic heart disease.

Joseline lost hope and spiraled into depression when she learned that apart from the serious disease that damaged her heart’s valve, she also has a growing cyst on her chest. Their family felt like they were drowning in financial problems on top of her health challenge. They were faced with overwhelming and seemingly unending problems.

This is when Joseline contemplated suicide to end her miseries. She was deceived into thinking that, maybe, a bottle of muriatic acid could stop all the physical and emotional pain she experiences.

“I did not know what to do then. I lost hope because my problems came all at the same time. There were times that I wanted to kill myself because I felt I was inutile; I could not take it any longer. I felt so useless, Joseline recalled.

Like Joseline, have you ever felt so helpless in life? Where do you find hope?

Amid her helplessness and anguish, Joseline saw a sliver of hope. A concerned friend came and advised her to watch The 700 Club Asia to be inspired by stories of people who are miraculously healed by God.

“My friend was right. When I watched The 700 Club Asiathe hosts prayed for people who have cysts. joined the hosts in praying and claimed it when they said that God has already healed me, Joseline shared.

Right after the prayer, Joseline felt the instant relief and peace that overflowed in her heart. While she prayed for miracles, she grew deeper in faith and believed that she will experience them, too.

God did not disappoint Joseline. He proved that miracles still happen today, and He showed it in her life.

“I did not undergo any operation; I did not take any medicine. The instant healing of the cyst in my chest is God’s miracle,” she said, in awe of the unexplainable healing that she experienced after she prayed.

Because her cyst was already clearedit became possible for her to underwent heart surgery. God also surrounded Joseline with people who blessed her financially and supported her in prayers.

Heart mended and faith strengthened, Joseline discovered that nothing is impossible for those who believe in the power of Jesus.

Before, all I can do was cry about my problems. But now, my heart is full of thanksgiving and joy because God keeps on pouring blessings after blessings into my life,” Joseline ended.

Would you like to experience God’s miraculous healing, too?

If it happened to Joseline, it could also happen to you. Whatever sickness you may have right now, know that God’s healinfavors the faithful. As long as you believe that He can do wonders and miracles in your life, then He can bring it to fruition.

Do not give up on your miracle.

Surrender all your worries and claim the miraculous healing, blessings, and peace that God is offering to you today, just as how He promised in His Word.

“But now I will heal and mend them. I will make them whole and bless them with an abundance of peace and security. (Jeremiah 33:6 CEB)

10102020_God, Is My Life Still Worth Living

God, Is My Life Still Worth Living?

While sitting in the dark corner of her room, Noreen Dela Cruz kept on thinking why she couldn’t get out of the black pit of depression and hopelessness.

Noreen harbored pain and sadness inside her heart while growing up and seeing her parents constantly fight against each other.

She found temporary solace in the arms of her grandfather, but when the latter died, her life became even darker.

Grief overpowered the young and naïve Noreen. This is when she started looking for love in all the wrong places –partying all night, drugs, same-sex relationships, and casual sex.

“I would end my days drinking. I also tried drugs, but sexual encounters are what gave me fulfillment. Sex became my favorite drug. I thought it was the fulfillment of getting the attention I needed. My life became a cycle – a meaningless cycle, Noreen recalled.

Noreen continued to seek comfort, affection, and validation from other people. She would take any love she could get.

Her rebellion and vices continued until she entered into a romantic relationship while believing that with a man beside her, she would never feel empty anymore.

“I thought he was the one for me, because he accepted me for who I was. We talked about spending the rest of our lives together. But, I found out that he was cheating,” Noreen lamented.

Despite trying so hard to find herself and what could make her happy, it seemed like nothing – and no one – could ever fill the growing void in her heart.

That really broke me. At that point, I couldn’t take it any longer. Nothing satisfied me and that’s when I started contemplating on killing myself,” Noreen recalled. For the first time, she cried out to God in utter desperation, “talked to God to prove to me that He is real and that my life would still be worth living.”

That night, sitting in the dark corner of her room, Noreen shed every tear she could. But those weren’t tears of hopelessness anymore. Those were tears of surrender to Jesus.

She never thought that God was already answering her prayers when she got invited to an outreach program and later on, a retreat. As she began to know more about Jesus, all the wounds she carry started to heal.

After hearing about the cross and what Jesus went through, I cannot reconcile how a God like that – holy and righteous – would sacrifice Himself for someone like me. That’s when I came to my senses. I thought this isn’t the way I’m supposed to be living my life! God created me for so much more than what I was running for, she said.

Noreen accepted Jesus as her God and Savior and got baptized the next day. God also restored Noreen’s relationship with her parents and continued to use her in sharing His Word and His love to the hurting.

“The heaviness in my heart was taken out. There is so much hope. There is so much joy – the joy that I’ve been looking for so long, the joy that doesn’t go away because Christ is the foundation.

Like Noreen, do you want to break free from all the chains of your painful past?

Are you tired of looking for love, acceptance, and validation from the people around you?

Are you wondering if your life still has meaning and purpose?

Are you thinking of ending your life?

This World Mental Health Day, know that no matter how you feel right now, your life is worth living.

There is a mighty God who loves you perfectlyIf you’re on a rollercoaster of emotions, He is willing to give you comfort, joy, and peace. He has already set you free from all the bondage of your past, the weight of your current situation, and the worries you may have for your future.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36 ESV)

Receive your freedom today.

Take a step closer to God by calling the CBN Asia Prayer Center at 8737-0700. We would love to journey with you through prayers.

10052020_Dear Teacher, Here’s a Prayer for You

Dear Teacher, Here’s a Prayer for You

Dear Teacher,

How are you?

How are you coping with this year’s back-to-school scenario?

Perhaps, you are a little exhausted because of all the preparations. Lately, you’ve been going the extra mile to make sure that your students would learn despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.

Maybe you are anxious – about your students’ safety, about your own safety – and you might be wondering how things would unfold with distance learning.

You ask, “Would my preparations be enough? Would I be effective?”

Chances are you, too, are affected by the crisis. You are worried about how you can best serve your students while providing for and taking care of your own family.

Teacher, you do not have to carry all the burdens alone.

Jesus, the greatest teacher, is here to help you, guide you, and comfort you as you navigate the new normal way of teaching. This World Teachers Day, may these prayers resonate in your noble heart:

To the teacher who is tired

God never overlooks anything. He sees all your efforts and He knows how much love you pour into your craft and calling. Take all the sleepless nights and all the busy days to your Heavenly Father and allow Him to restore your strength.

May your mind, body, and soul be renewed while you rest in His presence. In Him, may you find the rest that rests not only your body but also your heart.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NIV)

To the teacher who is worried

Your worries are not hidden from GodRight now, He is waiting for you to surrender them at His mighty feet.

May you find confidence and peace knowing that no matter what happens, He promised that He will never leave youHe will bring you to a wonderful moment of calm in the midst of storms.

As you entrust your profession to God, be in faith that He will hide you under His wings to make you safe. He will give you wisdom and bless the works of your hands.

As you seek Him through prayers, be in faith that He will make your paths straight.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. (Proverbs 3:5-6 ESV)

To the teacher who needs provision

Praying for your financesMay you rest in God’s promise that He’s already got the things you’ve been praying for. God is fully able to provide all your needs according to the riches of His glory.

God is able to accomplish far more and provide greater blessings in your life. As you thank Him for paving the pathways of provision for you and your loved ones, may you always see and feel how He miraculously provides for every single need you have.

Be ready to receive the abundance of favor and blessings that He has stored for you.

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NIV)

Dear teacher, the road ahead is quite challenging.

When the going gets tough, know that you can always come to Jesus, soak in His promises, and rely on His strength. Thank you, for answering a great calling, and receiving the gift of teaching.

As you surrender every challenging assignment, every responsibility to enrich the growth of your students, and all your personal needs to your Heavenly Father, know that He is looking at you with love.

While you teach His beloved children, be comforted that He is with you. Be confident that in time, God’s promise for your life will be fulfilled.

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you.” (Psalm 32:8 NIV)

Teacher, allow us to honor you in prayers. You may call the CBN Asia Prayer Center at 8-737-0-700, or send your prayer requests to our Facebook page.

As learning goes on now that the Department of Education stands firm on reopening the classes on October 5, schools, teachers, students, and parents like you will be navigating new modes of learning such as online classes, radio and TV broadcasts, and printed learning modules.

You and your child might be wondering about how to survive and thrive distance learning.

Grab your pen and paper and check out these 5 back-to-school tips that will help you support and protect your children while they continue their education:

  1. Prioritize health

Even when classes will be conducted at home, it’s best to practice safety measures to lessen the risk of contracting the virus. Gently remind your child about social distancing, washing their hands oftenand using sanitizers.

It’s also important to prepare healthy meals that will help boost their immune system and encourage them to take vitamins, do physical exercise, and get enough sleep.

  1. Set up a conducive learning space

Here’s the truth: not every household is conducive to learning.

As a parent, you can still try your best to make your child’s learning a bit more comfortable by designating a specific study area in your home. It doesn’t have to be a new room; just somewhere quiet, well-lit, and free from clutter and distractions.

  1. Pay attention to your child’s concerns

Ask your child, “What do feel about the reopening of classes? What do we need to prepare? Do you have concerns? How can I help?”

If you have a job to attend to or they ask for something that’s beyond what you can give, go ahead and explain your situationInitiate the conversation – ask them and listen intently to what they have to say. Reassure them that you got their backs as they cope with education’s new normal.

  1. Take care of yourself, too

Your child’s education is important, but so is your own mental health and overall well-being.

As you set up a routine for your child’s learning and for the whole family, don’t forget to include time for your own rest and relaxation. Take care of your health and spend quality time with your loved ones, tooRemember, it would be hard to take care of your child’s wellness if you don’t feel well yourself.

  1. Cover your child in prayer

At the end of the day, your child is God’s child too. Pray for your child and with your childPrayer is the greatest weapon you can give them. Ask God to protect, strengthen, and give them wisdom even when the country’s current situation is less than ideal.

Be in faith that despite the changing seasons, God’s love for the both of you remains unchanging. After all, He promised that all things would work together for those who love Himdidn’t He?

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28 ESV)

If I Pray, Can God Heal my Loved One from COVID-19?

Deep inside Minda Donaire’s heart, she never believed that God could bring total healing for her daughter Jonalyn who tested positive for COVID-19.

Jonalyn flew to Saudi Arabia to be a domestic worker with hopes of providing a good future for her three children who are left in the care of her mother Minda

Fear started to plague Minda when in the midst of the outbreak, she lost all communications with her beloved daughter.

After a week, she received the news that her daughter was put in quarantine after showing symptoms of the dreaded disease. Her world turned upside down when Jonalyn confirmed that she tested positive for COVID-19.

“It was so painful when my daughter told me‘Ma, please take care of my children. The ambulance is here already, Minda recalled. Since that callshe never again heard from Jonalyn.

This left her paralyzed with fear. It was during this time that one of Minda’s grandchildren encouraged her to watch The 700 Club Asia. Their whole family watched the show and joined the hosts in prayer.

She also called the CBN Asia Prayer Center to ask for prayers.

I told the prayer counselor that I cannot contact my daughter and I do not know if she is still alive. I told her all my problems, and she prayed for me,” Minda said.

Just minutes after they prayed, Minda received a message from Jonalyn, who then assured her mother that she is safe in a hospital. Minda felt immediate relief. She literally jumped for joy and thanked God for hearing her prayers instantly, “I told her that I sought help from The 700 Club Asia in praying for her.”

However, despite hearing from her daughter, Minda still felt doubtful that God would miraculously heal Jonalyn from COVID-19 – until she opened her Bible and stumbled upon God’s Word in Jeremiah 33:3:

“Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.”

The next day, the hospital declared that Jonalyn was COVID-negative – a miracle that both Jonalyn and Minda could not fathom.

Even though she wrestled with doubt at first, Minda learned that God’s Word can defeat fear and disbelief.

“Calling the Prayer Center was a huge help for me. They stood with me in prayers. Indeed, Jesus Christ is the best healer!” Minda ended.

Do you also doubt that God can heal you or your loved one from COVID-19?

Be assured that when you call to God with all your heart, He is willing to help you overcome your doubtsBelieve that powerful, faithful prayers can bring instant answers!
