Ever Wondered How a Wheelchair Can Change Someone’s Life?

It’s amazing how a new set of wheels helped Maria Theresa and her son, Archie, move and continue with their lives.

Maria Theresa found herself desperate for help because of an issue with the wheelchair of her son, Archie. The wheels on Archie’s wheelchair had rust and it made movement and everyday tasks difficult for the both of them.

“I always carry Archie when he needs to go to the toilet or if he needs to take a bath,” Maria shares.

For 6 years, Maria had to take care of her son who has cerebral palsy. Though it’s hard, she pushes herself to sell dried fish and cook kakanin to provide for the both of them.

Although Maria dreams of buying Archie a new wheelchair, she is unable to do so because her income is just enough for their daily needs.

“I hope that Archie receives a new wheelchair. I hope someone can provide for us because he really needs it,” Maria says.

Have you ever found yourself desperately praying for something you badly needed, but it seemed like it was impossible to happen?

Maria was losing all hope. She didn’t know what to do.

During such moments, God moves, and He amazes those people who firmly believe in Him.

Hope came in the form of Operation Blessing.

With the help of the Capiz local government, Operation Blessing gave new wheelchairs to people with disabilities. They also received hygiene kits and Bibles.

One of the beneficiaries of these gifts was Archie.

Volunteers from Operation Blessing did not miss the chance to minister and pray for their beneficiaries, especially Maria and Archie.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you to Operation Blessing. I may not know all of you, but I cannot express how grateful I am for what you have done,” Maria exclaims.

Through the generosity of CBN Asia and Operation Blessing donors, many communities, families, and individuals receive the help they need. It may seem simple but to others, but to the beneficiaries, it is life-changing.

The life of Archie was changed for the better because people chose to be a blessing.

“The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed; those who help others are helped.” (Proverbs 11:25 MSG)

You can be a blessing to others, too!

God Is Not Done With You Yet!

God loves you no matter where you came from, and what you have done.

And when you are facing a challenging situation, He will always make a way for you.

Shandelle Sarmiento is a living testimony to these truths. Here’s her inspiring story.

Shandelle faced a challenging childhood as her parents’ marriage crumbled due to her father’s betrayal, leading her to harbor resentment within.

To cope with the pain, Shandelle rebelled. She also got into a relationship with another woman to find love that she couldn’t have in her family. However, the relationship did not fill the emptiness inside her, and she thought about ending it.

Thankfully, Shandelle’s sister invited her to a Bible study, and that changed everything. She started to understand God’s incredible love—something she hadn’t found and experienced anywhere else. From then on, her desire to know and follow God grew.

“I realized that, no matter what I’ve done wrong, God loves me. He’s always ready to embrace and accept me as His child,” Shandelle shared.

But it wasn’t an easy journey for Shandelle. She went through a painful time because someone close to her sexually abused her. She spiraled into depression and eventually stopped talking to her church leaders. This difficult situation took her a long time to overcome.

Has life been difficult for you, too, even after knowing God?

It also happened to Shandelle, but her story will remind you that He is not finished with you yet. God will create a path for you to overcome life’s challenges, just as He did for Shandelle.

What God has used to help Shandelle heal was the uplifting content she found on social media, especially from CBN Asia’s Digital Media campaign, I Can BreakThrough.

I Can BreakThrough’s content deeply moved my heart. Sometimes, when I recall our family’s situation, that’s when I come across a Bible verse or encouragement from their page,” she shared.

The messages she encountered reminded her that God keeps His promises and is always working for her and her family’s benefit.

As Shandelle held on to her faith and obeyed God, her life started to change for the better. Her family—once broken and divided—now comes together to go to church, worship, and listen to God’s teachings. Even her father, whom she used to be mad at, decided to follow Jesus.

“No matter how hard things are, God always finds a way for us to get through them,” Shandelle declared, showing how her strong faith and God’s love turned her tough journey into something beautiful.

If you are in a difficult and painful situation, may this story remind you that God sees all that you are going through.

He sees every pain, mess, and exhaustion. Not only does He see it, He is at work because He is not done with you yet. His promise is that He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will be with you in every situation (Deuteronomy 31:8).

If You Are a Breadwinner, Here’s What God Wants You to Know

You are not alone in bearing the weight of your problems. God is willing to take care of your family’s needs.

Would you trust Him?

This question confronted Rogene Puli and his wife when they thought they were at the end of their ropes after a financial crisis hit their family.

As a public school teacher and sole provider for the family, Rogene’s salary was not enough to afford his premature baby’s medical needs.

It wasn’t an easy decision, but he had no other way but to resort to borrowing money.

“We were scared for our baby’s life. What are we going to do if we run out of money?” he lamented.

Are you also facing the same situation as Rogene’s—lacking and needing a financial breakthrough?

Would you allow God to intervene and show Himself faithful?

This is exactly what happened when Rogene and his wife chanced upon The 700 Club Asia one night.

While watching, their eyes were opened to other people’s needs. And despite their lack, God touched the couple’s hearts to give to people who are also in need.

Even if they couldn’t see any chance that their financial situation would get any better soon, they took a step of faith and promised to give Php 500 to CBN Asia.

For Rogene, it felt like a challenge. He thought, “What would God do with our need when we respond to His call to help others?”

Truly, God did not disappoint them.

When Rogene proceeded to borrow money, he was surprised to know that he would actually get Php 12,000 back because of an overpayment for a previous loan.

That miracle changed Rogene’s life.

“I believe that it was a gift from God,” he said joyfully.

As Rogene continued putting his faith in God and giving to help others, blessing after blessing followed.

Not only did God take care of Rogene’s financial needs, but He also promoted him and blessed his son with good health!

Their story is just one of countless stories of God’s promise being fulfilled.

If you are a breadwinner, know that God is willing to take care of your family’s needs—just like how He took care of Rogene’s family.

When you trust Him, you will experience His faithfulness. He will not only provide for you—He will also give you the ability to help others.

“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:8 ESV)

Embracing God’s Plan Even in Times of Crisis

When God allows you to face a crisis, would you still trust and serve Him, even if it causes discomfort and suffering?

For Ronnie Cabuhat, enduring challenging times is better than witnessing families and youth live in hopelessness and brokenness.

“God planted in my heart the desire to reach out to those dysfunctional families that have lost hope. Those youth who are lost, who will guide them?” Ronnie shared.

Having lost his way during his youth, Ronnie’s desire to share the Gospel compelled him to persevere despite the trials he and his family encountered.

He believed that the Lord is his Shepherd, and he would lack no good thing (Psalm 23:1).

What about you? Do you believe that the Lord can take care of all your needs, even your desires?

Keep delighting in God, and trust that He will give you the desires of your heart (Proverbs 37:4).

Ronnie, who is now a pastor, can attest to that promise.

As he sought God, the Lord empowered him to start a church community where he could lead families to Jesus.

Their church grew. However, another issue emerged.

Their place of worship became unusable during rainy seasons due to flooding. Due to financial constraints, they could not afford to find another place of worship.

Enduring trial after trial can be so disheartening and frustrating, especially when you give up all that you have to obey God and His will for your life.

If that resonates with you, let this story inspire you to hold on to God’s promise.

Instead of sulking and seeking help from other people,  Ronnie and his family chose to give the little that they had to reach more people for Jesus.

While their family and the church they led faced financial struggles, they remained open-handed and gave cheerfully to God’s work through partnering with CBN Asia.

“Truth is, it is never easy to give the little that you have. But because I believed not in the principles of men, I held onto the principles of God, where when you support the very work of the Lord, the Lord will bless you,” Ronnie recalled.

Do you agree with Ronnie?

Giving in times of crisis is never easy, but it becomes joyful and comforting when you focus on the Source of everything you have.

If the challenges you face make you doubt and worry, let God’s faithfulness in the life of Ronnie motivate you to stay faithful in pursuing His plans for your life.

As he held onto God’s promise and showed generosity even in crisis, the Lord showed His faithful generosity to Ronnie.

They received a movie house as their new place of worship. Their church grew from 60 to 300 attendees—people who worship and serve God with their families.

Furthermore, Ronnie and his family experienced God’s goodness. From owning a house and car to sending their kids to school, he can attest that it is truly better to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).

The calling to bring hope and new life to the hopeless and hurting became a joy for Ronnie as he saw God’s faithfulness and power to transform.

His faith was greatly tested as he chose to follow God’s plan.

Due to his perseverance, many other families found the joy of partnering with God.

He, along with his family, encouraged their church community to actively participate in expanding God’s kingdom, not just in their community but also throughout the Philippines and the world by supporting the CBN Asia Family of Ministries.

You, too, can become a CBN Asia partner today!

As you choose to be a blessing, hold firmly on God’s Word in 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV), My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

Experience God’s empowering grace as you embrace His plan for your life even in times of crisis!

Are You Struggling to Find a Job?

To be independent, secure, and happy with a well-paying job – that’s all a college graduate could ask for. After years of studying, it’s time to harvest what you have sowed, to reap the fruits of your labor.

But that wasn’t the case for Aaron Tristan Balanza.

Just 6 months after his graduation, he found himself struggling to find a job. If you are too, know that there is hope for you—just like how Aaron found hope.

“Lord, are you punishing me? What do you really want to happen in my life?” In that season of unemployment, these were the only words Aaron could muster to God. His excitement about achieving the life he wanted quickly fizzled out, replaced by growing resentment towards his life and what felt like a deaf and absent God.

After applying for countless jobs and facing continuous rejections, he began to believe the lie that God wasn’t good and that his life was destined to be unproductive, jobless, and a burden to his family.

He started losing faith. And when he needed it the most, his prayer life died. His motivation in life dwindled, and exhausted, Aaron hit rock bottom.

Like Aaron, have you found yourself in a rock-bottom situation? Are you left daydreaming about the life you want and envious of other people’s successes?

You are not alone. Aaron’s story is a testament that when you’re down, the only way is up. God can help you.

While Aaron was scrolling through social media during those hard days, he found The 700 Club Asia‘s Facebook Page. He messaged the page, hoping for something good to come out of it. And that hope didn’t disappoint, because minutes later, a prayer counselor responded. That call was a Godsend, as it rekindled his faith.

“Lord, just give me a breakthrough, and I will give to you,” Aaron recounted a prayer.

What he saw as the lowest point in his life became a launchpad for the breakthrough he’s been longing for. Afterward, he got hired as a “Collection Specialist” on his birthday. At that moment, tears streamed down his face as he experienced God’s kindness.

God’s work didn’t stop there. Through Tanikala—CBN Asia’s Holy Week special—Aaron was encouraged to support the ministry and help his kababayans, a decision that paved the way for an even greater breakthrough in his life.

Amid the pandemic, he secured a part-time job as a financial advisor for an insurance company. Because of his giving, the Lord continued to bless him with more clients and an even higher salary in his newfound job—ultimately enabling him to become a greater blessing to his family.

Thanks to God, Aaron, once an insecure and unemployed college graduate, now stands as a secure and fulfilled career man. Truly, there is hope for those who feel hopeless and discouraged.

If you are struggling in life, Aaron has an encouraging message for you, “The security of my life is in Jesus. When you are faithful to God and put Him first, He will be faithful as well.”

To you who are reading this article, refuse to believe the enemy’s lie about your situation and about God. Have faith that you will be at the center of the prayer you’re uttering right now. Soon, you’ll be secure, employed, and living the abundant life that God wants for you.

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matthew 6:33 NIV)

Is God Calling You?

What if God calls you to go to one of the poorest countries in the world, would you respond?

Danny and Dovie Siega faced the same question, too.

They were both graduates of the Asian Center for Missions (ACM), the missionary training arm of CBN Asia. In response to a divine call echoing in their hearts, they went on a transformative journey as missionaries in Uganda in 2005.

Despite its abundant resources, Uganda is among world’s most underprivileged countries. Along with the extreme poverty, a significant portion of Ugandan students struggle to attain even basic levels of literacy and numeracy.

The heart of the missionary couple resonated with Uganda’s pressing needs. Having determination and hearts full of kindness, they didn’t let challenges or cultural differences discourage them from helping the Ugandan community.

Their journey began with reaching out to children, establishing a school for the little ones of Uganda to care for them and share messages of hope.

It didn’t stop there. The children’s parents were also able to hear about Jesus. As the seed of faith grew, the couple planted a children’s church that also thrived.

Trusting in God’s guidance, Danny and Dovie continued to spread love and hope to Ugandan children. Their school that started with just 8 students grew into a thriving school teaching thousands. The joy of seeing so many children get the chance to learn and succeed was a reward beyond measure for the couple.

“If you want to change the nation, you need to invest in education,” Danny shared.

Do you share the same heart with Danny and Dovie?

Do you feel that God is calling you to bless the nations?

When Danny and Dovie heard God’s call, they responded in faith. They extended their reach to Sudan, a neighboring country facing similar struggles—poverty and education. Danny used his knowledge of aquaculture to introduce fish farming, while Dovie poured her heart into an orphanage, sharing hope with vulnerable children.

They also stepped in as compassionate trauma counselors, spreading comfort and God’s peace to communities caught up in the armed conflicts in Sudan.

To Danny and Dovie, the Asian Center for Missions has been a key support throughout their missionary journey.

“I thank God for ACM for investing in our lives. We were able to see our purpose,” Danny shared.

Dovie’s voice echoed with sincerity, “To all the staff of ACM, whether you’re here or in the mission field—may the Lord bless you. Glory to God!”

Is God calling you?

May this story inspire you to answer in faith. Danny and Dovie’s missionary journey proves that as you heed God’s call, He will always be with you—as He promised in Joshua 1:9 (NIV):

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Will You Still Trust God After a Series of Losses?

What would you do if you lost important people in your life?

Joebert and Vangie Maningo have experienced this firsthand.

After getting married, Joebert and Vangie desired to conceive immediately. God answered their prayer and blessed them with a beautiful daughter, Yesha Samuelle.

However, after 2 weeks, Yesha got sick and was diagnosed with Sepsis, a condition where the body responds improperly to an infection. Thankfully, God healed Yesha, and she grew up healthy.

After 2 years, God blessed the couple with another child and named her Zia Gabrielle. Like Yesha, Zia was diagnosed with Sepsis, but her condition worsened.

Vangie knew it was hopeless, but Joebert continued hoping his daughter would make it. Sadly, Zia did not. When Vangie entered the hospital room, she was heartbroken to see her baby’s heart monitor flat-lined slowly.

“We were devastated,” Joebert lamented.

Not long after Zia’s passing, Joebert’s father died, followed by Vangie’s mom. Their hearts were completely broken, and on top of it were debts they did not know how to pay.

A sliver of hope seeped through their darkest nights when they received the good news that Vangie is pregnant again. Their joy was cut short 3 months later when the baby lost heartbeat—on the day of Joebert’s birthday.

Have you been in this kind of seemingly hopeless situation before?

How did you recover?

For Joebert and Vangie, it was through God’s help.

While the couple was devastated after all the loss, their firstborn Yesha fervently prayed to God to give her a sibling.

The child’s faith moved her parents’ hearts to hope again. Not long after, they gave birth to a baby girl, Keziah Hadassah.

Joebert requested tests and found out Keziah has Sepsis along with other complications. But what broke their hearts more was that Keziah had a big hole in her heart.

Desperate to find hope again, Joebert watched The 700 Club Asia’s miracle stories and stumbled upon King Hezekiah’s story in the Bible, where God healed him from his sickness.

“If God can do it for them, He can do it for us,” Joebert declared with faith.

God did not fail them.

Keziah survived her open-heart surgery. Today, Keziah is a healthy baby girl, and the Maningo family will always look back on how God moved miraculously in their lives.

True enough, nothing is impossible with God!

If you are going through a season of loss, let God be your source of hope. Remember, He has your best interest in mind, and nothing is too hard for Him!

So, take heart! Surrender your worries to the Lord and believe that if He did miracles for Joebert’s family, He could do it for you, too.

“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” (Jeremiah 32:27 NIV)

Does God Really Answer Our Prayers?

What would you do if your hard-earned money were gone in an instant?

Would you still believe that God answers prayers?

Jowena Tan pondered the same questions. If you are going through the same thing, witness how God moved in her family during the toughest moment in life.

Jowena served as a nurse for 20 years in Saudi. After saving enough money for her family, she decided to go home to the Philippines and start a trucking business in General Santos City.

Just as they were starting their trucking business, Jowena faced problems.

The client failed to pay them for months, and she was unable to contact them. Doubts clouded her mind. What will happen to her family? What will happen to her employees?

“Imagine, that happened in December, so we needed to pay for the 13th month of our employees. We had little money left. My husband has reached the point where he was very depressed,” Rowena lamented.

In these difficult times, Jowena held on to the power of God’s Word.

“I did not lose hope. I am blessed. I said, ‘Those birds, they are flying. They are chirping, they are really happy. How much more for us whom God created higher than them?

God touched Jowena’s heart to give to CBN Asia. She decided to commit and surrender everything to the Lord. (chronicpainpartners.com) He trusted God and believed that He will answer their prayers.

She held on to God’s promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

AS Jowena and her husband decided to trust God, they experienced great blessings. A client called and paid Jowena! She was greatly blessed because she knows this was God’s answer to their cries and prayers.

Jowena and her family received blessing after blessing. Their client now pays them regularly and by God’s grace, Jowena was also able to work again as a nurse in General Santos.

For Jowena, they can now face any challenges because she knows that God is their help and strength in times of hardship. She knows that the Holy Spirit is within them and their faith as a family became stronger.

If you are facing any problem now, remember that our good God listens and answers our prayers!

Do You Trust God Even When Money Is Tight?

It’s not too hard to give when you are financially secure.

What if you don’t have enough money, will you still bless the Lord through your finances?

Hanelyn Cua and her husband went through that experience.

Providing for their family’s everyday needs became a challenge for them, but their struggles didn’t stop them from giving back to God. Even when they only had Php 50 left, they still gave it joyfully to Him.

How does God honor this kind of faith? Find out from their story!

Hanelyn’s husband lost his job. With no source of income for months, she was always filled with worries for their family.

Their financial struggles did not stop Hanelyn from giving to the Lord’s work. As an active donor of The 700 Club Asia, she encouraged her husband to also give to the ministry.

“He went to a convenient store, and he gave Php 50,” she recalled. That moment, Hanelyn realized that her husband’s faith is bigger than their circumstances.

What happened next surprised them—Hanelyn’s husband got a job offer. However, it only lasted for 3 months.

“I’m always encouraging my husband that God has something better for him,” she shared.

Despite their financial problem, they did not lose hope. His husband promised that even if he doesn’t have enough, he will still choose to honor God through his finances.

“He said that even if we lack money, we will give back Php 500 to God whenever we receive our income,” she said.

Are you inspired by their faith? Do you also want to give back to God amid your financial lack?

God honored their obedience. Finally, Hanelyn’s husband got a job offer again, but this time, as a warehouse manager of a company. Hanelyn also had the opportunity to start her own online business.

Their trials and challenges did not weaken their faith. Rather, it made them stronger and wiser!

“Thank You, Lord, for not abandoning our family,” Hanelyn was in tears when she shared how thankful she is to God.

God wants you to have faith that always chooses to trust Him regardless of what you have.

Remember, He is the God of abundance! He can bless your faith more than you expected.

Like Hanelyn and her husband, do you also choose to trust God with your finances? You may start doing so by supporting His ministry and partnering with CBN Asia! Give through GCash or through cbnasia.org/give.

How Do You Respond When Unexpected Blessings Come?

A wedding is like a magical story where two people who love each other get together. However, after all the happiness of the wedding, comes the reality that every couple must face—living together.

For many couples, this is something they’re excited about. Just like Edna and Noel Gonzales.

“It is an advantage to have a partner who serves with you in the ministry,” Noel said.

After getting married, they encountered financial issues. Noel, a Pastor, and Edna, now serving in church, moved to Sta. Rosa, Laguna. With no familiar faces or family around, they used their wedding funds to find a home, embracing a leap of faith.

As time passed by, the money ran out. Left with no other options, they made a home within the very walls of the church they served.

“We were in a little room in the church. It was crowded and really hot, but my husband and I didn’t complain. We understood that this is part of the sacrifice we had to make,” Edna recalled.

Are you also experiencing this? Hold on because God is at work!

Edna and Noel’s dedication to their congregation never wavered. Despite their own limitations, they hosted Bible studies and cared for their fellow church members. They shared the importance of tithing and giving to the Lord, leading by example.

Specifically, Edna’s giving heart reached beyond their local community, supporting organizations like CBN Asia, particularly its humanitarian ministry, Operation Blessing.

“I view CBN Asia as fertile ground. By contributing, I believe I’m making a difference for those in need,” she explained.

Edna’s giving bore abundant fruits!

An unexpected blessing emerged in the form of a generous church member who gifted them with a television, which they were praying for months. And in her 50th, she received a house and a car, which they used for their ministry! The couple’s steadfast dedication to serving the Lord did not go unnoticed.

“My husband doesn’t have to rush home from his appointments because we have a car to use,” she shared.

Edna’s journey shows us that giving isn’t limited by circumstances. Despite financial struggles, her heart stayed open, sowing kindness and generosity.

Her story is a reminder that God’s blessings flow abundantly when we faithfully manage what we’ve been given. When we prove ourselves to be good stewards, more blessings are entrusted to us.

As God said in His Word in 2 Corinthians 9:6, “Remember this—a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.”

Edna and Noel inspire us to stay firm in faith and bless others even in lack.

If you’re facing financial hardship, keep the faith!

The God who aided Edna is with you too.

You can also be generous like Edna! Partner with us today! If you need prayers, our 24/7 Prayer Center is here, ready to pray with you.
