Julie Ann Mena’s teenage years were marked by heartbreak, betrayal, and a desperate longing to be truly loved.
At just 17 years old, Julie became pregnant with her boyfriend, Reymark. Hoping that fatherhood would finally change him, she chose to stay and build a life with him. But instead of stepping up, Reymark continued pursuing other women. Feeling unloved and exhausted, Julie was ready to give up.
“I felt like there was no more hope,” Julie recalled.
But one night, everything changed. While watching The 700 Club Asia, Julie found herself crying along with the prayer on screen.
“I prayed and surrendered everything. I didn’t want to keep looking for love elsewhere. I am tired.”
That moment became her breakthrough.
“After that, I experienced peace,” Julie recalled.
She finally found the love she had been longing for—not from a man, but from the One who loves perfectly and unconditionally.
“Real love can only be found in the Lord. It’s the kind of love that no spouse, parent, or child can ever match,” Julie shared.
Unknown to Julie, God was already moving in Reymark’s life. While working abroad, a fellow OFW invited him to church. There, Reymark encountered a kind of love he that transformed the way she would love Julie.
“That’s where I felt the kind of love I couldn’t find anywhere else in the world,” he shared.
But just as God was beginning to restore them, a painful truth surfaced: Julie had also been unfaithful. Their relationship was hanging by a thread.
Yet God’s grace covered even this.
In 2019, Reymark returned home. Despite all they had been through, he proposed and this time, they said “yes” to forever with Christ at the center.
That same year, God blessed their marriage with another child — a beautiful symbol of new beginnings.
Julie now looks back with deep gratitude.
“I’m thankful because God fought for our relationship when we no longer could. He held us together when everything was falling apart,” she testified.
Today, the couple who once deeply hurt each other now serve passionately in their local church, mentoring others and sharing the same hope they found in Jesus.
“If God was able to change our lives, then I know God can change the lives of others, too,” Julie said.
Their story is living proof of 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.”
So did God give up on their broken relationship? Not at all.
They both cheated—but God redeemed, restored, and rewrote their story into one of unconditional love and purpose.
