Is Doing Good Really Worth It?

Have you ever wondered if your small acts of kindness even make an impact?

For Liza Andal, her commitment to doing good has made an impact on hundreds of people’s lives. Be inspired by her story.

Liza has worked in Israel as a caregiver for 18 years. As she lived there, God placed a mission in her heart.

“There must be a reason why I’m still here,” Liza shared.

She became part of an organization in Israel called BARACO (Batangas Radiant Colligation) that aims to help people in need, people with disabilities, and families who were hit by calamities.

As she continued to serve in this organization, she crossed paths with Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines. She was inspired to work hand-in-hand in blessing others and helping her kababayans in need.

“In this town, people don’t usually go to hospitals for check-ups because they worry about their lack of money,” Liza exclaimed.

When you are doing good things, sometimes it may feel like it doesn’t make a difference.

But this is the truth: simple acts of kindness can become the hope that someone is praying for. Your good deeds can change lives.

One of the beneficiaries of the medical mission conducted by Operation Blessing and BARACO is Liza Ebora, an elderly woman suffering from a condition that made it difficult for her to move around.

Because of the meaningful partnership, Liza received a new wheelchair and some much-needed supplies.

“Thank you for the blessing you have given me. With my condition, this is a big help for me. Thank you, Lord, and thank you, everyone,” Liza gratefully shared.

Who would’ve thought that a simple wheelchair and supplies could bring comfort to the lives of people? This is love in action, and it is a love that makes a difference.
Do you sometimes wonder why people live in different circumstances? Some do well, while others suffer.

But for Liza Andal, an Operation Blessing partner and volunteer, she sees it as an opportunity to display God’s love. For those who are able, she believes that God’s purpose for them is to become a channel of blessing to those who don’t have the same privilege.

“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.”  Galatians 6:9 NIV

Finding God’s Hope in the Storm

When the storms of life hit and everything falls apart, how do you find hope? How do you begin again?

In life, we sometimes experience different kinds of storms, and we find ourselves asking if there is still hope.

Shirly’s story is proof that God can restore what was lost, rebuild what was broken, and give hope to start again.

Shirly Nalla, a mother of six children, lost her entire home and eatery business due to Typhoon Tino that hit Cebu. She felt so devastated because she lost their family’s source of income. In the blink of an eye, she was left with nothing.

After seeing the aftermath of the storm, she was overwhelmed by despair after realizing she had to start all over again.

She felt hopeless and helpless because they had nowhere to turn to and don’t have enough resources to rebuild their livelihood.

In the middle of a difficult challenge, it can be hard to have a grateful heart. But despite what Shirly went through, she was able to remain thankful and look at the brighter side of life.

“I almost lost hope. But then I realized, ‘Thank You, Lord, because my family is safe,’” Shirly expressed.

God’s answer to her situation came right on time. After the storm, a lifesaving moment came for Shirly when she was chosen as a beneficiary of Operation Blessing’s Livelihood Rehabilitation Project, which included Financial Management Training to help families rebuild their future.

Through the program and her community’s support, Shirly was able to rebuild her livelihood.

Truly, all hope isn’t lost for those who have faith in God. For Shirly, Operation Blessing was heaven-sent. True enough, there is always a rainbow after every storm. And in the storm, she experienced God’s love in action.

“I am so happy! I am deeply grateful to God. Thank you so much for your livelihood program, Operation Blessing. Thank you to everyone who helped us,” Shirly expressed with heartfelt gratitude.

She might have gone through a challenging time, but God did not leave Shirly. He used people to bless her so she could start again. From feeling of hopelessness and discouragement, Shirly was filled with joy and renewed hope because of God’s blessings and goodness.

Are you going through life’s storms?

Shirly’s story is a comforting reminder that God is always with us and that His love never stops moving. Her life is a testimony that restoration and new beginnings are possible because we serve a God who turns situations around.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1, NIV)

What’s the Secret to a Lasting Marriage?

That’s what Primo and Zosima Buce discovered when what started as an exchange of vows became a promise they faithfully lived out for more than 40 years.

It hasn’t always been easy, especially when Zosima had a stroke and lost her ability to do many of the things she used to.

Once a home-cooked meal and sari-sari store vendor, now became a stay-at-home housewife that needs extra care.

“I can’t do the things I want to do anymore,” Zosima lamented.

Are you also experiencing challenges in your marriage? Where do you turn to for hope?

Trials may sometimes create a crack in marriage, but for Primo and Zosima, the hurdles strengthen their bond. Their love reflects God’s love—selfless and unconditional.

“To be loving and generous, that is the secret of our marriage,” they said in unison.

Primo’s love in action is displayed daily by taking care of his wife. He prepares meals and bathes her in the early hours of the morning before heading to work at a steel fabrication shop.

With his income of 500 pesos per day, they couldn’t afford to get the medical attention that Zosima needs.

“For as long as we live, we will never give up. I only trust in the Lord. I know that He will help me,” Primo declared. He and Zosima held on to faith that God will be their provider.

And God did, in the form of Operation Blessing’s Mobile Medical Clinic.

The mobile clinic visited their community in Barangay San Francisco, Cavite, where they offered free medical checkup, reading glasses, dental services, ECG, other medical tests and medications.

Zosima’s confidence in God’s help led her to receiving the medical assistance that she needs – laboratory tests and medications. Operation Blessing also generously gifted the couple with food and other essential items.

Putting God at the center, reflecting His unconditional love, and being generous and loving—for Primo and Zosima, these are the secrets to a lasting marriage, and also ways of showing love in action to our kababayans in need.

Let God use you in giving hope and sharing His love. Be one of our partners today by visiting cbnasia.com/give.

Can God Restore a Broken Heart?

Sometimes, life’s trials can feel overwhelming, thankfully, God’s love has a way of bringing hope even in the darkest moments.

Melanie Remigio can attest to that.

Melanie’s husband went to Saipan to work and provide for their family. For three years, they were in a long-distance relationship, and Melanie believed their marriage was still strong.

Her world was shattered when she later discovered that her husband had been unfaithful. Their relationship became distant, and the pain was heavy.

Yet, for the sake of their only daughter, Melanie chose to endure the pain.

Have you ever found yourself enduring, holding on, because you knew someone was depending on you? Where do you depend on?

Melanie found out she can depend on God.

During her lowest point, she came across The 700 Club Asia. She felt it was God’s way of comforting her and giving her hope. She was drawn to the program because it shares stories, including testimonies about marriage.

“The host at that time was sharing about struggles in her marriage. I felt like the episode was meant for me, and it seemed as if the hosts were already praying for me,” Melanie shared.

Encouraged by what she watched, Melanie began to believe that there was still hope for her marriage. She prayed to the Lord and held on to His promise that what God has joined together cannot be separated.

Despite the challenges she was facing, Melanie chose to be a blessing to others. She donated to CBN Asia to help those in need.

“I believe that when you give cheerfully and wholeheartedly, God will bless you abundantly in return,” she shares.

God moved in Melanie’s family. She and her husband had an open, heart-to-heart conversation and were given a chance to restore their marriage. Her husband promised never to repeat his mistake, and Melanie felt a deep sense of relief.

Their relationship was not only restored but grew stronger. They began calling each other more often, and their family bond deepened.

Soon after, Melanie was blessed with a food business, while her husband found a better job in Saipan. Grateful for God’s faithfulness, she was able to give again to God’s ministry, CBN Asia.

“Do not lose hope. Stay close to the Lord, because nothing is impossible when you pray to Him,” she encourages.

Are you coming to God with a broken heart?

Melanie’s story is a reminder that even in the midst of pain and betrayal, God’s love is always at work. No matter how difficult the situation may seem, with faith, prayer, and perseverance, restoration and blessings are possible.

God Will Meet You in Your Brokenness

Are you heartbroken?

You are not alone. Carmela Gozum knows exactly how you feel. Yet in her brokenness, God met her and gave her hope. So, if you feel lost, lonely, or broken, let her story inspire you.

At a young age, Carmela faced a life‑changing dilemma when she became pregnant. Her ex-partner refused to take responsibility and turned his back on her and her baby. In that moment, she felt the pressure of what lies ahead—the struggles she would endure and the fear of an uncertain future

“He wasn’t ready for such a big responsibility. So, does that mean everything falls on me? It’s not even all my fault. But why is all the responsibility—something so heavy for me—being placed on my shoulders?” Carmela had so many questions.

She tried to face the struggle alone by intentionally hiding her pregnancy from her parents. However, as time passed and the baby grew in her womb, the weight of regret grew heavier, leaving her crying through the night as she struggled with overwhelming fear and discouragement. She’s worried not just about her future, but also about the future of her child.

The deep sense of brokenness Carmela carried had become almost unbearable. Overwhelmed by her situation, she found herself contemplating the thought of ending her life.

“Just when I was about to reach for the knife, it felt as if Someone whispered to me. At that moment, I snapped out of it and realized, I still want to live. I have a child,” she recalled.

From that moment, Carmela realized the true value of life. She gathered her courage and did what she had long feared—she told her parents about her pregnancy. To her surprise, they embraced her with love and care, accepting her fully.

“Why didn’t you tell me? You should’ve told me,” these were the words of her mother, when she finally learned the truth.

The same way applies to God and His love for us—always waiting for us to come to Him with our struggles and heavy burdens. He is always willing to accept us as we are.

One night, Carmela came across The 700 Club Asia, which featured the testimony of Bettinna Carlos, who was also a single mom. Bettinna’s words resonated with her: that all we truly need in life is Jesus—our source of strength, the giver of life, and the very standard of love.

“Bettinna’s strength comes from the Lord alone. Maybe I can do it too if He becomes my strength,” Carmela realized.

And that’s God’s love in action. Carmela may have stumbled many times, but God’s love kept drawing her back into His presence—teaching her to release the past and step into the future God has prepared for her.

Now, Carmela has given birth to a healthy baby girl—a symbol of new hope and the future God has graciously entrusted to her. She named her Loureign Ruth: Ruth, after the biblical name, and Loureign, meaning “Lord, You Reign.”

“I keep saying sorry to the Lord for all the times I’ve failed, yet He’s still there. His love is so beautiful,” Carmela testified.

If you feel broken, if you are hurting, and you feel helpless, hang in there. Hold on to Jesus. In every trial and every failure, the Lord and His love continue to reign—constant, unchanging, and unconditional.

Are you struggling? We are here to pray for you. Call the CBN Asia Prayer Center at 8-737-0700.

Can Faith Help You Heal After the Storm?

When life takes away all that you’ve built, where do you turn for strength and hope?

For Renato Hingone, faith in God helped him begin again. So if you are going through life’s storms, let his story inspire you.

Renato and his family were among the many survivors of Super Typhoon Tino when it struck Liloan, Cebu, last year. In the blink of an eye, strong winds and relentless floodwaters swept away his home and small business.

As the disaster unfolded, he felt a profound sense of loss and helplessness, watching everything he had worked for disappear almost instantly. As a father of three, his biggest concern was how to help his family rebuild their lives.

Amid the struggles, Renato cast all of his worries to God and volunteered for Operation Blessing’s disaster response program in their community. He helped repack and distribute relief goods to fellow survivors.

Renato fully trusted the Lord for provision because despite the loss, serving others became his source of strength. Each bag of rice and canned goods he prepared was not just relief items—it was a testimony of hope. It was a reminder that even in difficult seasons, God can use him to share His love with others.

Do you believe the same?

Do you believe God can use you to bless others—even while you’re going through your own struggles?

Even in your pain, your faith and willingness to help others can be a source of hope not just for the community, but also for yourself.

That’s what happened to Renato.

Just a few months later, Operation Blessing initiated a livelihood turnover—and Ronato was one of the beneficiaries!

He received essential supplies such as fresh ingredients, meat stock, and appliances that helped his family rebuild their business and get back on their feet.

Are you facing life’s storms?

Renato’s journey is a beautiful reminder that God is faithful. No matter what storm you’re going through, take heart—the Lord restores and renews all things. Hold fast to faith, and trust that God can restore you and help you bring healing to others.

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” (Proverbs 11:25 NIV)

Will I Ever Find True Love?

It’s a question many people are afraid to say out loud.

Not because they don’t want love, but because disappointment and pain have taught them not to expect it.

For Myla Lim, that question came early. Her parents left when she was still young, choosing to build new families. The responsibility of raising her and her siblings fell on her grandfather. Their days were marked by hunger. They barely had enough to survive.

“Life was hard. There came a point when we had to ask for food, and people gave reluctantly, but it was already spoiled. We just washed it and ate it anyway,” Myla recalled.

Then life took even more from her. Their home was destroyed by a typhoon, followed by the passing of their grandfather. Because of this, her brother left for Manila to find work—where he found the mother who abandoned them.

When Myla was brought back to her mother’s care, she hoped for safety, warmth, and love. Instead, her life shattered, as night after night she was abused by her stepbrother.

“It was devastating. I was a good child. My only dream was to have a good family and food every day. Why did this happen to me?” she cried.

The abuse ended only when they were relocated to Cavite. At 20 years old, Myla finally finished elementary school. Instead of dreaming big, she chose to work, because survival became her priority.

As if her heart had not endured enough, then came another betrayal. At a friend’s birthday party, she was pressured to drink alcohol, and while intoxicated, someone took advantage of her. The abuse resulted in a pregnancy. Lost and broken, Myla longed for her mother—who rejected her again.

“How can I be a mother when I never had a mother to learn from?” she lamented.

How do you believe in love when the pain just keeps piling up?

For Myla, her child became the reason she chose to keep going. She found a job through the help of a friend—where she met the man who would become her husband.

However, when she gave birth, Myla was diagnosed with leukemia and ulcer. She was afraid she might not live to see the family she was beginning to build.

Until one night, she chanced upon The 700 Club Asia. She was moved by the prayers and in that moment, she surrendered her life to Jesus.

“I prayed along. I was told to tell the Lord everything I felt, to forgive those who hurt me, and to forgive myself,” Myla recalled.

She wept. And for the first time, her heart felt light.

Seeing how God changed her life through the program, Myla was inspired to support God’s ministry. She held on to her faith, and believed God was not finished with her story.

God did not disappoint her. In 2019, Myla experienced His miraculous healing—the leukemia and ulcer were gone!

Beyond physical healing, God healed her heart and helped her forgive those who caused her pain. Grateful for the love that restored them, their family now volunteers in their local church.

“Time and circumstances crushed me, but the Lord made me whole again,” Myla testified.

Have you stopped believing in true love?

Maybe life has given you reasons to. Maybe painful experiences convinced you that love does not last.

Thankfully, Jesus showed what real love looks like. As the Bible says,

“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16 NIV)

God’s love for you does not fade, fail, or walk away. It’s the kind of love that chose you, pursued you, and offered Himself on the cross so you can be forgiven, restored, and begin a life filled with hope.

If you’ve stopped believing in true love, this is your reminder: it has never stopped reaching for you. And today, you can receive it, by accepting Jesus into your life.

The Blessing of Giving with Joy

“This is the last that we have… what if we give it to God’s ministry?”

This was the question Allan Perez and his wife asked. A question that led to a life-changing decision. With the last money they had, they chose to give to CBN Asia.

Allan owned a small eatery, but because of low sales, he had to close it permanently. With the business gone, he asked himself, “What now?” They only had Php 1,000 left, and his two children were still going to school.

Using that Php 1,000, Allan decided to start a small fried chicken business. He bought a few chickens and sold them to his former eatery customers.

But the business did not start well. There were days when he sold only one chicken, sometimes not even enough for their daily needs.

Like Allan, are you going through a tough season?

In times like these, where do you turn to?

In the middle of his worries, Allan came across The 700 Club Asia. He joined the prayer, which gave him comfort and challenged his faith.

Moved by the call to give, Allan and his wife did not hesitate. They gave the last two hundred pesos they had.

God did not fail them. Through their joyful and heartfelt giving, their business slowly began to grow. Orders started coming in, and as God continued to bless their family, Allan also continued to support CBN Asia through regular giving.

Even when the pandemic hit in 2020, their business was not affected. God provided for their children’s education, and they were able to finish college. The Lord also blessed them with not just one, but two new fried chicken shop. Their business continues to grow.

Are you struggling to give?

Allan has an encouragement for you, “When you give to the Lord, He will give it back many times over, just like what He did for us. We never expected that the two hundred pesos we gave would return in so many ways.”

When God gently leads us to give, we can always trust Him. What we faithfully and joyfully sow for the sake of God, we will also receive, because He is faithful.

As God says in His Word:

“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.” (2 Corinthians 9:7 NLT)

Is God calling you today to be a blessing to His ministry? If so, you can take that step of faith by being our partner today. Visit cbnasia.com/give to know how.

Do You Feel Hopeless Right Now?

Maybe you’ve been struggling for a long time. You’re trying to stay strong, but the weight of everything has made it hard to keep going.

Can you relate to that feeling?

Daniel Dela Cruz knows exactly how you feel. His story began with loss, carried years of pain, and almost convinced him that his life will always be broken and hopeless.

When his parents separated, he was left in the care of his grandmother and aunt. As years passed, one question haunted him.

“Why did my parents leave me?” he lamented.

If you’ve ever felt abandoned, you know that pain doesn’t just disappear. It follows you and shapes how you see yourself.

And sometimes, the hardest truth to accept is this: the people closest to you are the ones who hurt you the most. In Daniel’s case, the abuse came from his own uncle. Simple mistakes turned violent.

“Every time my uncle saw me do something wrong, he would scold me and beat me. One time, I just bought the wrong thing, and he strangled me with a wire,” Daniel shared.

Can you imagine being a child and realizing you are not safe? That was Daniel’s reality. He began to question his worth.

“I kept asking myself, why do I have to experience things like this? It felt like I was never treated as family,” he recalled.

Maybe you’ve asked the same thing, “Why am I the one going through this?” Maybe you’ve wondered if something is wrong with you to deserve that kind of treatment.

Daniel carried the same questions. The only person who truly understood him was his grandmother. But when she passed away, he lost his protector, “When my grandmother was gone, that’s when I started trying all kinds of things, because I felt like no one loved me anymore.”

With no one to lean on, he learned to fend for himself. He sold candies and dried fish just to survive. Still, the abuse continued. Eventually, the pain hardened into anger.

At just Grade 5, Daniel began drinking, engaging in vices, joining gangs, and getting into constant fights. His life became a cycle of rebellion and trouble. Deep inside, he was just a hurting child.

“I questioned God. Of all the people in the world, why did I have to be the one to experience that kind of cruelty? No one knew how much I was struggling.”

If you’re going through something similar—lost, unloved, and hurting in silence—know that you’re not alone. Even in the darkest moments, God can rescue you in ways you never expect.

For Daniel, that rescue came in a simple invitation. A friend’s father asked him to join a youth camp. That moment changed his life. He heard the pastor’s message: “No matter what you’re going through right now, the Lord is there for you. There is still hope for you.

Daniel cried, “Lord, I surrender my life to You.”

God answered his prayer and Daniel’s life changed.

Daniel became active in church, finished a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies, and later served as a camp director and Bible school professor. His passion to serve also led him to missions work in Thailand and Cambodia, where he helped start churches and a basketball ministry.

“God gave me the love I didn’t feel from my parents. He gave me peace in my heart. He gave me a new life. So Lord, I will serve You,” Daniel testified.

As a result of following the Lord, Daniel’s family began to heal. God helped him forgive his uncle and parents. His relationship with his father was restored, and he introduced Daniel to his new family. They also had the opportunity to know Jesus and started attending church more often.

“There is still hope. The Lord is always there, no matter what happens in life. We only need to keep trusting Him,” he ended.

If you feel broken and hopeless right now, if you wonder if things will ever get better, God says otherwise.

Like Daniel, there is still hope for you. God has not given up on you. No matter how painful your past has been, He can restore what was broken, heal what was wounded, and give you a future filled with purpose.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NIV)

Your story is not over. Your pain is not the end. In Jesus, a new beginning is always possible. Come to Him and receive your new life.

Do You Feel Rejected by the World?

“My doctor said I won’t get better anymore. I won’t be able to walk again, I’ll just live on.”

These were the words of Rosemarie Ape, when asked about her health condition. She had been diagnosed with polio—a condition that took away her ability to walk.

Have you ever felt that way? Experiencing the weight of your struggle that’s too heavy, glimpse of hopelessness, seems like the world has already shut you off. Rejected. Forgotten. Told that your story ends here.

But sometimes, what the world calls rejection, God calls redirection. An affirmation that your journey isn’t over—it’s just beginning.

Just like what happened to Rosemarie.

During Operation Blessing’s Mobile Medical Mission in Buhawen, San Marcelino, Zambales, The 700 Club Asia host Felichi Buizon and the team were struck by the arrival of Rosemarie—who entered not on foot, but by crawling. Her quiet determination spoke volumes, and captured everyone’s hearts.

When asked why she went to the medical mission, she shared her story.

“To relieve the pain, especially when working, my back, body, and stomach will hurt.”

Despite Rosemarie’s condition, her desire to live a normal, purposeful life remained. Her disability did not define her.  Through the loving support of her grandmother, she continues to work, tending to her plants and helping clean their home.

These simple tasks, though meaningful, were the ones causing Rosemarie physical pain. Amid the discomfort, her prayers have always been for daily provision, considering her current situation.

“I hope that when I wake up, there will be medicine, food… wheelchairs, things like that,” she shared.

Her prayers were answered—and you are one of the instruments God used to fulfill that prayer.

Through your continuous loving support and generous donation to CBN Asia, Operation Blessing was able to provide for Rosemarie’s needs, including medicine, groceries, and even a wheelchair. This vital aid now empowers her to do her daily activities, without disability holding her back.

Before leaving, Felichi Buizon had an encouraging conversation with Rosemarie, sharing the meaning behind her name—Rose for kagandahan (beauty), and Marie for minamahal (beloved).

“You are loved. The Lord loves your beauty,” Felichi said.

Amid challenges, Rosemarie still found the strength to see beauty in her situation. And that alone is a testament to how God deeply loves her. The world’s rejection did not define her—it affirmed that God sees her, protects her, and is always by her side.
