Reverb Worship PH Hosts First Open Mic Event “Resonate”

Reverb Worship PH held its very first Open Mic event, “Resonate,” last August 29, 2025, at the CBN Asia office in Makati.

The gathering brought together friends, musicians, Reverb Worship artists, and music lovers who simply wanted to listen and connect.

It kicked off with a fun and meaningful icebreaker that helped everyone get to know each other—setting the tone for what the night was also about: building connections.

Christian musicians from different backgrounds, churches, and walks of life came together to share their music. Performers like Pasky, Adiel, Cassie, Remz, Francis Soriano, Marc Danielle, and Grace Vidad with her family took the stage to sing both covers and original songs. Reverb Worship artists Vee Jay Dela Calzada and Rhea Rodriguez also blessed the audience with heartfelt performances.

But the night wasn’t just about music—it was about stories. Each song carried a testimony, each lyric spoke of faith, struggles, and hope. It was a beautiful reminder that music is more than melodies; it’s a way to tell stories that inspire and resonate with our hearts.

That’s exactly why the event was called Resonate.

“We hoped that each song would not just inspire but reverberate in the hearts of the people. So that when they go back and remember it, they’ll be led into an encounter with Jesus,” shared CBN Asia’s Vice President for Media, Icko Gonzalez.

The most powerful part of the night was when everyone lifted their voices in worship, guided by Rhea and Vee Jay. The Reverb Worship team also prayed and ministered to the attendees, making the night even more meaningful.

One performer, Grace Vidad, came with her husband and two daughters who also performed. She shared how this opportunity was God’s way of reminding her not to give up despite her family’s struggles.

“This opportunity is God’s message to me not to stop. He reminded me that He sees me, He sees what we’re going through. He knows that the songs I write are for Him,” Grace expressed with gratitude. “I thank Reverb Worship and CBN Asia for this opportunity to sing with my family again.”

Beyond music, Resonate carried a deeper purpose. Part of the donations collected will go toward supporting a scholar, chosen by Reverb Worship and Operation Blessing.

“This program gives underprivileged students a chance to pursue their education and dreams. Isn’t it wonderful that while you’re enjoying music, you’re also helping someone?” shared Ivy Catucod, CBN Asia’s Special Projects Assistant Manager.

To top it off, guests enjoyed giveaways and raffle prizes, made possible by generous partners like Ptr. Lester Macaya and Mr. John Go of DB Audio by Astron and Serenity Gifts. Their support made the event extra special, and we’re deeply grateful.

Resonate was more than just an open mic night, it was a night of worship, community, and purpose. It reminded us that music can unite people, tell stories, and even change lives.

We invite you to partner with us in creating more opportunities like this—events that not only inspire but also make an impact. Together, we can spread God’s love through music and support those in need.

5 Life Lesson We can Learn from the Story of Esther

A beauty like no other turned a simple Jewish girl from being an ordinary citizen to being the queen of an entire nation! But there is something more about her than what meets the eye—she possessed a courage that helped save her entire race from annihilation.

Here are five lessons you can learn from the story of Esther:

  1. You Are Where You Are for A Reason

God led Esther’s steps and used her as an instrument to save the Jewish people from being wiped out.

Esther became the Queen of Persia after King Xerxes’ wife, Queen Vashti, was deposed. Among all the beautiful women in the empire, Esther’s beauty and personality stood out. The king was so delighted in her that she was declared queen! Upon the request of her cousin, Mordecai, she kept her nationality a secret and later on revealed it to save her people from the impending danger Haman had planned.

God has a purpose for your life, and He allows things to happen for a reason. Like Queen Esther, God may have brought you where you are for a special purpose. Maybe you are in a workplace filled with workmates who need to hear about Jesus. Or in a campus surrounded by students who need the Lord in their life. Maybe you’re the only Christian in your family who God will use so your loved ones could hear about Him. If you find yourself in a position like Queen Esther, remember her story. Who knows? God may have placed you there for such a time as this.

  1. You Can Run to God in Times of Trouble

When Queen Esther learned about Haman’s evil plan toward the Jews, she asked Mordecai to gather all the Jews in Susa to fast with her for three days and nights. Fasting is a spiritual discipline that Christians do. We fast to acknowledge our dependence on God and focus on Him.

Esther knew that the first thing we should do is to run to do God. Only He can help us face and win life’s biggest battles.

  1. Have Courage

During the time of Queen Esther, it was against the law to approach the king without being summoned. But even if it meant risking her life, Esther went to see the king. In Esther 4:16, she bravely said, “And then, though it is against the law, I will go in to see the king. If I must die, I must die.”

With her faith in God and her people standing with hers in prayer, Esther took the most difficult decision of her life, faced the king, and saw God’s deliverance.

  1. Pride and Hatred Lead to Destruction

Haman’s anger was aroused when Mordecai chose not to bow down to him. Because of this, he decided to kill all the Jews. Haman asked for the king’s approval to issue a decree that would have all the Jews killed. Before something tragic happens, Queen Esther had already approached the king and planned a way to stop their annihilation. In the end, the Jews were saved, and Haman was executed.

  1. God is Sovereign

The Jews may have feared for their lives when they learned of Haman’s evil plan, but God proved that He is sovereign overall. God used Queen Esther to stop Haman’s plans. She invited Haman for a banquet with the king and exposed His evil plans of destroying the Jews. When the king learned about this, He was angered! He ordered the execution of Haman.

God is with us through difficult times. Always remember that He is actively working behind the scenes and His plans will always prevail in our lives.
