If you’ve been burned by a scam, you might be wondering that same exact question. Is it really possible to bounce back?
The money came quickly.
That’s how it started for Kai Reyes.

When the lockdown stole her income, fear crippled her household. Bills didn’t stop. Needs didn’t pause. So, when she saw an investment opportunity online promising fast returns, it felt like a lifeline.
At first, it worked. The payouts were real. Encouraged, she added more. She even withdrew from their insurance savings. Friends saw her posts and joined. It felt like she had found a solution, not just for herself, but for others too.
Then one evening, everything unraveled.
The company’s office was raided. The news spread fast. And just like that, hope turned into horror.
“When I saw it on the news, I realized, we were really scammed… around 1.3 Million pesos,” Kai recalled.
But the heavier loss wasn’t just the money.
It was trust.
Friends she had influenced to join began asking questions. Some were angry. Others were hurt. Guilt weighed heavily on her heart. Anxiety and depression followed. She tried to repay them little by little, blaming herself for what happened.
At her lowest, she found herself watching The 700 Club Asia. One testimony caught her attention, a story about giving even in lack. Though her online bank account only had 700 pesos left, she chose to give it through GCash. She cried as she prayed, asking God to help her and her children.

It wasn’t an easy step. It was an act of surrender.
“I even cried over it… ‘Lord, this is really all I have. Please help me because my children are pitiful,’” Kai lamented.
A month later, her phone rang. A friend introduced her to a catering business opportunity. That simple conversation became Contemporary Cuisine by Mela. Orders came in. Partnerships followed. Slowly, stability returned.

Kai did not recover all the money she lost. But she gained something far greater, renewed faith, restored purpose, and confidence that God provides.
Today, she continues to give faithfully, setting aside a portion for the Lord whenever blessings come. She knows now that every success carries God’s hand in it.

Maybe you’re carrying regret, financial loss, or disappointment today. Maybe you trusted something that failed.
Hang in there. God is not finished with your story. He sees the tears, the guilt, and the fear. And He is able to restore what was broken.
As the Bible says:
“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19 NASB)
God is not limited by your past mistakes. He is your Provider. He is your Restorer. When you surrender everything to Him, He can open doors you never imagined.
Let’s pray together:
Lord, You see those who feel ashamed or defeated. You know the weight they are carrying. Restore what was lost. Replace guilt with peace. Open new doors of opportunity and provide for every need. Remind them that You are their faithful Provider. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
