Have you ever wondered if hope can still be found when everything falls apart? When life keeps throwing a series of trials, and you don’t know what to do.
Kate Boren found herself in the same situation, too.

Worry filled her when her firstborn, Isaiah, was diagnosed with autism at 2 years old. The doctor’s observation about their son’s speech delay left Kate and her husband distressed.
Yet, amid their concern, she was also in denial. Countless questions flooded her mind as she poured out her heart to the Lord, wondering why this was happening to her family when she had been faithfully serving at church.

During this challenging season, Kate came across an episode of The 700 Club Asia featuring Daisy Callanta, a mother who faced a similar struggle with her son, Josiah.
Hearing their testimony rekindled Kate’s hope and renewed her faith that Isaiah, too, would one day find his voice. It was also through the program that the friendship between the two women blossomed.

With consistent therapy, her son’s speech began to improve, bringing immense joy to the family. Their happiness grew even more when Kate was blessed with another son.
However, another wave of hardship struck when she lost her job during the pandemic, forcing her to stop Isaiah’s therapy sessions. Not long after, Kate also suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage, losing what would have been their third child.
Overwhelmed by grief, she fell into depression and felt utterly hopeless.
Where do you turn to in the middle of your pain?
God comforted Kate through one of her passions—music.
Her husband, Francis, stood by her side and offered encouragement by suggesting she try busking. Though hesitant at first, Kate decided to give it a try.

Singing and playing the guitar for a live audience became her way of praising the Lord, especially as she performed worship songs. In doing so, she not only expressed her devotion but also inspired those who listened.
The new source of income allowed her son to resume his therapy sessions, where he continued to make steady progress.
As Kate continued watching The 700 Club Asia, her faith in the Lord grew even stronger and reminded her of His guidance and provision at every step of her life.
“You will fall and then you will get back up. You will learn to trust completely in the Lord,” she shared.

If you’re struggling to find hope in your darkest moment, remember that God has not left you. The same God who spoke light into the darkness can speak life into your situation.
