You Can Help Restart Someone’s Life with Operation Blessing

When natural disasters come and lives are greatly affected, we can’t help but hope for a quick and easy restart button.

Homes destroyed and livelihoods wiped out – this is what the citizens of Noveleta, Cavite had to endure when their area was hit by the recent Typhoon Crising worsened by the southwest monsoon.

Life is already hard for most of the residents, and it is as if the typhoon kept them from moving forward, leaving them jobless, with damaged belongings, and little food.

Such is true for Lauro, who lost his ability to walk since 2016. Alone and unable to work because of his condition, he often goes hungry—eating only once a week, or when a kind neighbor gives him food.

Meanwhile, single mother Mary Ann feared for the lives of her children and hoped for their safety when the strong winds blew their home.

Another resident, Gina, whose income comes from selling tuyo (dried fish) was greatly affected when her products were rained over and could no longer be sold. Aside from the income that her family needs, she also worries about the debts she has to pay.

With situations like these, one might ask, “How else can I stand up and face life again?”

This is the part where God’s light shines in the dark. While life’s trials are inevitable, God gives the assurance that He is always with us even in the middle of our storms.

He made a promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

This promise came alive for the residents of Noveleta, as they experienced God’s help through Operation Blessing.

Not even the flooded areas hindered CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm from delivering relief items to affected families. The beneficiaries, including Lauro, Mary Ann, and Gina received food packs that contains rice, canned goods, noodles – enough to sustain a family for a week as they recover from the calamity.

More than the material blessings, Operation Blessing shared the gift of hope by praying for the beneficiaries and giving them Bibles.

These would not have been possible if it weren’t for faithful donors like you. Your continuous support sustains Operation Blessing’s One Step Ahead Campaign.
