Is your heart hardened by the pain others have caused, making it hard for you to forgive?
That was what Rea Ang-Go experienced.

Her father was shot when she was two years old, and without a father, her mom was left to take care of the family.
Rea knew her mother would struggle to work because she wasn’t able to finish school. In their Chinese culture, women were expected to take care of the home, not pursue an education.
Her uncle became the manager of the business her father used to handle, and they were given only a small income, just enough to get by.

Because of this oppression, her mind was filled with questions like, “Why didn’t they find the killer of our father?” and “Why is this happening to us?”
She felt like everything that had been happening was so unfair, and that they were being oppressed. Her anger grew and grew, until it consumed her and hardened her heart to the point that she couldn’t forgive.
Have you ever been hurt so deeply and repeatedly that your anger begins to consume you?
Yet God is good, and He never wanted Rea to live that way.

One night, while watching television, she stumbled upon The 700 Club Asia. Rea knew it was God’s way of speaking to her, and through this, she gave her life to Jesus. Rea experienced renewal in God.
He began to soften her heart until she longed to know Him more deeply. God also placed in Rea’s heart the desire to give to the ministry. The Lord blessed her generous heart, and she never lacked anything. God provided for her and her family faithfully.

It is indeed God who changes even the hardest heart. When you are in Christ, He gives you a heart that is aligned with His.
In time, Rea realized that God wanted her to surrender everything, even the anger and unforgiveness she held on to. She wholeheartedly obeyed, and the weight on her shoulders was lifted.

Today, Rea can say with confidence that she feels no anger toward the people who hurt her in the past.
“I can surely say, there’s no anger in my heart anymore. God has wiped it all,” she said. She now lives in the freedom that comes from God. As written in His Word:
“Hatred stirs up quarrels, but love makes up for all offenses.” (Proverbs 10:12 NLT)
Because God has filled Rea’s heart with His love, it became easier for her to forgive and let go of the grudges she once held.
