God responds to prayers according to His perfect timing, which is never too early or too late. He is even capable of answering prayers instantly, without delay, like how He did with Sammie Villagomez.
A year before Sammie’s graduation, his parents made the difficult decision to stop his studies due to their family’s financial situation.
Being the eldest among four siblings, Sammie felt the weight of responsibility to support his family. Determined to finish his studies, he attempted to juggle a job and his studies, but he struggled.
Desperate to find a solution, Sammie allowed a friend’s family to “adopt” him. He thought this was the key for him to finish his education and then secure a stable job. And he did graduate.
However, despite securing a diploma, Sammie could not find a job. His efforts were in vain. This failure led him to spiral into depression.
“I was able to graduate but I could not even secure a job. I am the eldest but I felt like I was useless,” Sammie thought.

Because God knows the thoughts and pleas of Sammie, He encountered him one night.
Sammie chanced upon an episode of The 700 Club Asia, where Coney Reyes was inviting the viewers to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
He went along with the prayer and accepted God wholeheartedly. But the prayer didn’t stop there. Coney interceded for those seeking employment and Sammie, who could relate so much, prayed with her.
Then God answered him in an instant.
While Sammie was still praying, his phone rang. Surprisingly, he received a job offer from one of the firms he applied to! Overwhelmed by God’s swift response, he cried—believing it was God, and He is real.
“That was the turning point for me. That was the beginning of the growth of my relationship with Him,” Sammie joyfully recalled.
After an exam and interview, Sammie got the job.
Meanwhile, the CBN Asia Prayer Center helped him become a part of a Christian church where he can grow in his faith. Since then, he received a succession of promotions from the company he works for. Sammie acknowledges that all of this is a result of Christ’s goodness and faithfulness in his life.
Faith strengthened, Sammie declared, “In whatever profession I am right now, it is not for my own glory, but for God’s glory.”
God has always been near Sammie, so when he cried out to Him, God answered without delay. Remember that God is also near you too. Reach out to Him now and experience His surprising response.
