Operation Blessing Responds to Earthquake in Turkey

Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, sent out a team of medical professionals to provide immediate medical assistance to the survivors of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Turkey that left more than 4,000 buildings destroyed and killed 50,000 plus people. They also sent a team of staff and volunteers to help in the disaster response.

As the Turkish communities still experience shock and trauma due to a series of earthquakes, Operation Blessing conducted psychosocial activities for the traumatized children, helping them to process their grief and trauma through holistic mental health program.

Moreover, the team also arrived in Hatay and traveled to the city center where many survivors benefited from its medical services. The survivors in the area were given food boxes, water, and were provided emotional and psychosocial support, especially to those who had already lost their loved ones.

Currently, the Operation Blessing continues its medical assistance and relief efforts as many people remain in evacuation centers and need basic necessities and support to ease their pain and trauma caused by disaster.

Your Giving Fills a Meal of Pandemic-Hit Families

“The ECQ made everything so hard for us again.”

For Marife Sampaga and many other families in the fish port community in Navotas City, the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) again means another season of hardship in meeting their everyday needs, especially food.

In their case, they lost their jobs because of the ECQ. No source work means no income, which means no food on the table.

Just when they are facing possible starvation, your giving brought the answer to their prayers right at their doorsteps.

Marife and many other pandemic-hit kababayans in her community received free meals from the Operation Blessing Disaster Response Team, together with 7th CRG – Civil Relations Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Mobile Kitchen, and DLL-Sagad Off-Road Volunteers.

“We are very thankful for the food given to us. Thank you so much, Operation Blessing!” Marife said gratefully.

Your generosity has come a very long way in reaching pandemic-hit families in the Philippines. You did not just bring them packs of food but also hope.

Their community is just one of the many areas that continue to suffer from the impact of the pandemic.

And more Filipino families are waiting to be reached out especially in these trying times, and you can be a blessing to them!

Be part of the mission of bringing hope and blessing to more communities!

A Ray of Hope from you, for the Cagayanos

A Ray of Hope from you, for the Cagayanos

“I feel so hopeless whenever I remember what happened,” lamented Victor dela Cruz, a 50-year-old resident of Amulung in Cagayan Valley.

He could not help but become emotional every time he recalls the tragedy they experienced when Typhoon Ulysses lashed some parts of Luzon and caused major damage in the Cagayan region.

When the waters flooded their whole barangay, all their livestock – including a carabao and a cattle – drowned because they had to ensure the safety of their families first.

Those were the most distressing days of his life, and possibly, for most of the Cagayanos

For 3-5 days, they stood drenched on their rooftops with nothing to eat, crying for rescue. All they could do was to pray for their lives to be spared from the imminent danger and for the water to subsideBut when it finally did, the next scenes were more devastating.

We couldn’t even eat that time, Victor recalled. His small farm remained covered with mudalong with the other houses in their neighborhood.

Now that the typhoon has already left the country, Victor and other typhoon survivors were left wondering about how to rebuild their lives.

We are hoping that someone would help us to start over again. We need carabaos in our farms so that we can provide food for our families and for our community, Victor shared.

That is why when CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, visited their community, Victor saw a ray of hope.

Hand in hand with faithful partners from Victory Christian Fellowship, the Philippine Armyand off-road volunteers, Operation Blessing provided much-needed food items, hygiene kits, and shelter materials to the residents of Barangay AnabuculanUnag, and Abolo in Amulung.

Families – including Victor’s household – received food bags that would help them get by for a week. Apart from the material relief, the survivors also received prayers and words of encouragement from the team.

They heard the message of hope that one day, with the help of God, they can all get back on their feet.

This Social Welfare Week, you can help them rebuild their lives with dignity!

Through your prayers and giving, more disaster-stricken kababayans would receive the help they need and would see that there is hope – through God and through you.

You can make a tangible change and you can make it today!

Be Part of Our Relief Efforts! Send Hope and Healing through Operation Blessing

The massive flood brought by the recent typhoons has turned hectares of rice fields into lakes.

Because of this, farmers like Ignacio Victoria cannot help but look over the flooded fields and lament over their huge loss. It is hard for him to absorb that their main source of livelihood is now submerged in floodwaters, and they are not able to salvage any of it.

“I feel sick just by looking at our rice fields. It was our family’s only source of food and income. We tried to recover some sacks of wet grains, but they are rotting already,” Ignacio grieves.

Even before Typhoon Rolly and Typhoon Ulysses razed our country, the lives of our farmers are already challenging.

And now, like Ignacio, hundreds of farmers are wondering how they would feed their families in the coming days. They are wondering where to find hope and encouragement amid all the storms that struck their lives.

In helplessness, they found relief.

Thanks to your partnership with Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines – Ignacio’s family would not have to worry about their meals for a week.

Ignacio and his co-farmers in Lopez, Quezon received much-needed foodnon-food items, and hygiene kits when the Operation Blessing team visited their community. Apart from the relief goods, the beneficiaries were also given the chance to hear the saving love of God and encouraging prayers through our church partners.

Today, Operation Blessing’s disaster response team is in Cagayan to send aid to families who are severely affected by Typhoon Ulysses. If you are looking for ways to lend a helping handyou are in the right place! Become part of our relief efforts to the Cagayanos by partnering with us!

Hand in hand, we can continue to send relief, hope, and healing to our disaster-stricken kababayans!

Your faithful donation, whether big or small, means a lot in helping them get back on their feet. You may support them by giving throughOperation Blessing’s website, through GCash (Operation Blessing), or through the following bank accounts with account name: Operation Blessing Foundation Phils., Inc.:

Looking for Ways to Help Families Hit by Typhoon Ulysses?

Houses fully submerged in flood waters. Families drenched on their rooftops. Vulnerable individuals pleading for help and rescue.

Have you seen these tragic images that circulated online in recent days during and after Typhoon Ulysses? Perhaps, you have also experienced some of these overwhelming scenarios, too.

Still reeling from Typhoon Quinta and Typhoon Rolly’s impact, our kababayans were caught flat-footed when Typhoon Ulysses lashed Luzon last weekend.

Typhoon Ulysses did not just trigger massive flooding – it also displaced thousands of families, claimed innocent lives, and left billions worth of residential, agricultural, and infrastructural damage.

Even after leaving the Philippine Area of Responsibility, Typhoon Ulysses’ trail of death and destruction continue to affect especially the most vulnerable.

Through your genuine prayers and generous support, you can help them recover from this calamity in your own little ways! Help rebuild a life by partnering with CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, the Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines.

Operation Blessing has been working hand-in-hand with church partners and local government units in typhoon-affected communities, so you can ensure that affected families will get the help they desperately need.

Some say that Typhoon Ulysses is worse than Typhoon Ondoy that battered the country over a decade ago. The road to healing and rehabilitation might be long but just like a decade ago, the Filipinos will rise by lifting each other.

Prayers and Helping Hands Needed for Typhoon Rolly-Affected Families

When Typhoon Rolly first made its landfall in the Philippines, the next scenes became devastating.

Dubbed as the strongest storm in the world this year” by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)typhoon Rolly – with international name Goni – packed catastrophic wind speeds of 225 kilometers per hour and smashed into Catanduanes in the Bicol Region last Sunday.

The typhoon’s impact was very much felt in Bicol – bending lamp posts, causing power outages, submerging towns in water, destroying crops and infrastructures, and burying hundreds of houses in volcanic rocks and mudflows from the Mayon Volcano.

Typhoon Rolly has already left the country but it also left thousands of families reeling from the impact.

CNN Philippines reports that to date, the devastating storm has also claimed 20 innocent lives and left tens and thousands of families in evacuation centers – all in the middle of the deadly pandemic.

Realizing the critical need of affected communities, the Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, CBN Asia’s humanitarian arm, has prepositioned its disaster response team to Bicol and other affected provinces even before the typhoon’s onslaught.

Families from the coastal area of Barangay Anibin Sipocot, Camarines Sur – whose homes were totally washed out by the typhoon – received much-needed food items and sleeping mats. On the other hand, the residents of Barangay San Roque, in Lopez, Quezon were given food bags to share with their families.

Today, the team visited Barangay Lanigayin Polangui, Albay, and distributed food supplies and sleeping mats.

Aside from the immediate relief, the team offered prayers and words of encouragement to help comfort the affected families, through the support of Operation Blessing’s church partners.

Meanwhile, the Operation Blessing team is currently on the ground to assess the needs of displaced families and other affected individuals in Naga.

Amid the threat of COVID-19, thousands of families are forced to stay in evacuation centers and are still needing continuous humanitarian aid. Because the typhoon also ravaged their livelihood, a lot of them are now wondering where to get their next meal.

Through your prayers and support, we can help our kababayans get back on their feet!

Your partnership with Operation Blessing enables us to provide life-saving supplies like food and non-food items, sanitation kits, and medical care to disaster-stricken communities. In this dark timeevery donation serves as the light to those who are in great need.

Help affected families to recover from Typhoon Rolly!
