What Happens When You Trust God for a Breakthrough?

Have you ever asked God “why” during a difficult season?

Merlinda Ramos did.

In 2020, she received the devastating news that she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She needed surgery and chemotherapy—all during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Fear and uncertainty overwhelmed her.

“How bad is it, Lord?” she prayed, unsure if the cancer had spread.

In that moment of fear, she came across The Answer, a special program by CBN Asia. Through the healing prayers on the show, she felt God’s comfort and surrendered her life to Him.

I believe God is powerful, and nothing is impossible with Him, she declared.

As she continued watching, she saw how CBN Asia, through its humanitarian arm, Operation Blessing Foundation Philippines, was helping those in need—by providing a water pump for a community. Touched by this, she felt led to give and become a faithful supporter.

“I want what I give to reach others too,” she said.

But the battle wasn’t over. When she noticed a discharge from her breast, worry crept in.

As she waited for her mammogram results, she turned to the Lord again. She reached out to the CBN Asia Prayer Center to help her pray. The Lord also gave her a strong support system—people who encouraged her, prayed for her, and even helped financially.

God answered her prayers. Two years later, she was finally cancer-free! Through it all, she never felt alone because of God and the people around her.

Today, Merlinda serves as a Christian educator, dedicating her life to God’s work. She continues to give to CBN Asia, believing that God can use her to bless others.

Truly, nothing is impossible with God. He brings breakthroughs in His perfect time.

Your Faith in God Can Heal You

“God did and God can do it again.”

This is what Allen Cabaracruz held onto when she faced health challenges.

It all started back in July 2024 when she felt a sudden pain in her left breast and only thought it was due to hormonal imbalance. But later on, it became more alarming when she saw blood discharges.

As this weakened her body and restricted her from doing her daily routines, it also sparked fear in her heart that hindered her from seeing the doctor.

Are you experiencing the same struggles? How do you cope?

Allen held on to her faith.

While her body was depleted, her faith did not stumble. This is what the Lord saw in her heart and gave her hope through The 700 Club Asia.

Her worries disappeared and was replaced with assurance when she watched one of the hosts, Camilla Kim-Galvez, share her testimony about overcoming health struggles. This inspired Allen to fully surrender her health condition to the Lord.

Her faith continued to thrive as she decided to give back to God’s ministry by supporting and attending CBN Asia’s 30th Anniversary Concert, Beyond Measure, last September 2024.

The Lord’s presence came down upon her through the testimonies and powerful messages shared during the concert. One particular moment that uplifted her was when she remembered the story of the bleeding woman in the Bible.

Allen was encouraged that she can wear God’s Word as an armor against the trials she was facing.

Through the strength in faith that God gave her, her prayers were answered. Allen’s miracle came – with no medications, the pain and discharge from her left breast suddenly disappeared.

“He gave me an instant healing,” she claimed.

Apart from the physical healing she received, God also blessed her humble dishwashing soap business and landed a job after not having one for 14 years.

“Even when we don’t deserve it, God is still faithful,” Allen declared.

Are you praying for healing?

Allen’s experience is a testament that the Lord honors your faith and obedience. He is your great healer. He walks with you in every season of your life. May you rest in these truths as you wait for your breakthrough.

God Can Turn Your Weaknesses into Blessings

All of us have weaknesses. But here’s the good news: God can use your weakness for a greater purpose!

That’s what happened to Jordan Escusa.

Jordan, a Filipino immigrant in the US, was verbally and physically abused because of what people say his “ugly” and “robot-like” voice. So, he decided to seek protection from a gang.

Smoking weed, skipping school, and stealing things—these became Jordan’s lifestyle as a gang member. However, instead of finding safety, he experienced more violence from his co-members.

Even after getting disciplined by his parents, Jordan did not stop from doing his vices. But he had a constant thought that anytime, he could end up dead or in jail.

And so, he decided to go back to the Philippines to take a break and escape danger. Thankfully, his relatives worked together to bring him closer to God.

Jordan attended a youth camp, where he heard a message that changed his life.

“It was His grace that saved me from all those times that I could’ve died or gone to jail,” he said.

Jordan surrendered his life to God. He lost interest in drugs and sought forgiveness from his parents.

Do you also have something that you have to surrender to God? You can still come to Him and ask His forgiveness today!

As 1 John 1:9 (NIV) says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Jordan discovered a love for Christian rock music. It became his way of sharing the Gospel.

He became a regular listener of a radio show hosted by Joyce Titular—who was also a co-host of The 700 Club Asia.

Jordan eventually met her, and their friendship opened a great opportunity for him.

Joyce discovered Jordan’s talent when she recommended him to host an event that she was supposed to do.

This started Jordan’s radio ministry career. And in 2014, he received the KBP Golden Dove Award for “Best Radio Jock!”

The voice that was once mocked by others was used by God to spread His message to others.

“God is able to take something that is probably viewed by the world as garbage and turn it into something else,” Jordan shared.

Jordan’s story is a testament to 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV):

“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”

Do you want to surrender your weaknesses to Jesus too? Call us today and we’ll help you learn more about Him.

Is Breakthrough Possible Even After a Series of Trials?

Sometimes, life gives us more trials than we can handle. There were moments when they come consecutively without prior warning, leaving us stunned and unable to come up with wise solutions.

When everything feels overwhelming, we start to wonder, “Is breakthrough possible? Is there a light at the end of this long and grueling tunnel?”

That’s what Marcha Liwanag constantly asked when a series of trials hit her life.

Despite growing up financially challenged, Marcha was full of dreams. She had a vision of who she wanted to become. Initially, her relatives abroad offered support, and everything seemed to go well as planned.

But something happened that put her dreams on hold. She entrusted her heart to a man who could not honor his marriage vow, and Marcha became legally separated at a very young age.

Brokenhearted, she continued pursuing her dream and focused on improving herself. She went to Dubai to work, but a year later, she noticed something on her skin.

“My hand started to have wounds. It was found out that I have skin lupus and the water in Dubai didn’t complement my skin condition,” Marcha said.

She reluctantly went back to the Philippines, putting her dreams on hold.

Marcha struggled to find a job in the Philippines and had a hard time supporting herself. She took teaching units in hopes of becoming a teacher, but it was still hard to sustain her daily needs.

With a broken dream, a broken heart from a failed marriage, and a downcast spirit due to an illness and lack of provision, Marcha felt that life was sucked out of her.

From someone who knew exactly what she wanted to become, all of a sudden, she didn’t know what to do and had no hope for the future.

Are you going through something similar?

But indeed, God comforts those who mourn.

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those whose spirits have been crushed.” (Psalm 34:18, ICB)

During those times when she was losing hope, Marcha watched The 700 Club Asia. God met Marcha where she was. He revived her hope and renewed her strength.

While watching the program’s live telethon, she sent a prayer request to find a teaching job. One of the hosts prayed for her during the live broadcast, which made her feel very blessed.

“I prayed along and claimed the answer to that prayer,” Marcha recalled.

And indeed, God answered her prayer—she was hired as a teacher! Finally, her lifelong dream came true.

She received a breakthrough after a series of trials, proving that no matter what challenges come, there is always hope in God and nothing is impossible in Him.

May you experience God in the same way.

Are You Questioning Your Breakthrough?

Is it hard to believe that your breakthrough is coming?

Let Marlon Villamater’s story remind you that we have a loving God who will help and save you.

Marlon, a Telecommunications Engineer working as an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) in the UAE, had a stable job that allowed him to provide comfortably for his family back home in the Philippines.

However, his marriage with his wife, Neriza, faced a difficult test when he became involved in paid sexual services while living in the Middle East.

One day, Marlon started having severe stomach pain, which quickly worsened into digestive problems, constant vomiting, and other complications. The pain was unbearable and began to affect his mental health.

He fell into depression, and as hopelessness took over, he started hearing voices pushing him to end his life.

Are you going through a similar experience?

Hang in there, there is hope for you.

Just as he was about to give up, Marlon heard a still, small voice that felt like a warm embrace. A sense of peace covered him, and he believed it was God speaking to him.

Curious about what he had experienced, he started searching for answers and came across Miriam Quiambao’s story on The 700 Club Asia. Her testimony moved him and gave him a desire to know Jesus more. Determined to learn, he went out and bought his own Bible.

“Jesus, if that was really Your voice, then speak to me through Your Word,” Marlon prayed as he opened his Bible.

He was led to John 14:26, “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

At that moment, Marlon felt God’s presence so deeply. He knew in his heart that it was Jesus who saved him from ending his own life.

Marlon’s life began to change as he started his breakthrough of knowing Jesus.

He was introduced to a Christian family in the Middle East who welcomed him and invited him to church. He also kept watching powerful testimonies on The 700 Club Asia and called CBN Asia’s Prayer counselors for guidance and prayers.

Marlon also took steps to restore his marriage and eventually decided to return to the Philippines for good. He led his family to the Lord, and today, they are happily serving Him together.

“It’s not just about receiving blessings or sharing them, it’s about sharing the Gospel, sharing Jesus. That’s what The 700 Club Asia is all about,” Marlon said.

How Can I Find True Love?

Have you ever asked this question before?

You are not alone. Everyone wants to be loved. Every person longs to be seen, accepted, and cared for through good and bad, through ups and downs.

When this longing is not met, people look for it elsewhere.

That’s what happened to Daymeer Baetiong.

Born from an affair, he was raised in a family that never truly felt like his own. Surrounded by a world that wasn’t built for him, he carried the quiet pain of not belonging.

He sought acceptance elsewhere since he struggled to find it within the walls of his home and found it in friends who introduced him to alcohol.

“It felt like we were family. We were happy and complete,” Daymeer said.

Their drinking sessions became frequent, sometimes leading to moments of physical intimacy. One night, a friend in his 40s kissed him. Uncomfortable, Daymeer pulled away, dismissing it as drunken behavior. Yet, deep down, he believed physical intimacy meant love.

That belief was shattered when seven friends raped him and recorded it.

His innocence was stolen, his heart was broken, and his soul was tainted on that horrendous night. Worse, his so-called friends blackmailed him with the video, trapping him in an even darker reality—one where he became their sex slave for four years.

Has something similar happened to you? Have you also been betrayed by the people you trusted, and have looked for love in the wrong places only to be deceived and used?

No words could describe how broken and miserable Daymeer felt.

When it became unbearable, he decided to end his life to protect his family’s name.

But that night, he finally found true love.

The kind of love that doesn’t disappoint, a love that never fails or gives up—the love of God.

As he watched The 700 Club Asia, Daymeer felt overwhelming peace as he listened to Peter Kairuz talk about Jeremiah 29:11, and prayed along.

For the first time, he felt home. He felt truly loved.

Everything changed since then. He found a godly father figure who was a missionary and mentored him, and he also relied on the Prayer Center of CBN Asia.

“They became my safe place and prayer partner. They didn’t judge me. They allowed me to cry, share my story, and patiently listened,” Daymeer shared.

Now that he has experienced God’s love, Daymeer wants to guide others to Christ.

You too can do the same. Partner with us and see lives changed by God’s love!

God is a Father to the Fatherless

Are you longing for your father’s presence?

JR Etis was.

His dad worked overseas as an OFW, as a result, he navigated his childhood without a strong father figure. Without his dad by his side, JR often felt vulnerable. In addition to this, he was bullied in school. He had no one to stand up for him, no one to run to for protection.

“My classmates would discourage me, saying that I am hopeless and would not graduate,” he shared.

When his father finally retired and returned home, JR was overjoyed. He believed this was his chance to make up for lost time and to bond with his father, to experience what he had longed for all his life.

But that moment never came. Shortly after coming home, his father became sick.

“The doctors told us he had prostate cancer—stage 4. We were completely shocked. There were no signs,” he recalled.

Before JR could truly get to know his father, he passed away.

Because of this, JR sank into deep depression.

Have you ever felt the same way—like the pain is too much to bear, and you have nowhere to turn?

That was JR’s reality. But little did JR know, God was moving.

He had a friend who never gave up on him—constantly encouraging him and sharing the Gospel. That same friend also urged him to watch The 700 Club Asia.

One night, as he tuned in, he heard the host, Peter Kairuz, praying for someone struggling with depression. Something inside him stirred. Deep down, he knew that prayer was for him.

Desperate for help, he called the number on the screen. A prayer counselor answered, prayed over him, and encouraged him to surrender his life to Christ. Right then and there, JR made the decision to accept Jesus into his heart.

“The prayer counselor advised me to attend church, and I followed,” he shared.

And that decision changed everything. His journey with God wasn’t instant, but it was real. Step by step, JR grew in faith. He found strength in God’s Word, healing in His presence, and hope for the future.

Years later, JR has completed his degree in IT. He, too, is working as an OFW—this time in Abu Dhabi, UAE. But more than just building a career, he is building the Kingdom of God.

He now serves as one of the core group leaders in Every Nation Church in Abu Dhabi, helping others find the same hope and healing he once desperately needed.

JR’s story is a testament to God’s faithfulness. No matter how broken you feel, no matter how deep your sorrow—there is hope in Jesus. He can turn your pain into purpose, just like He did for JR.

“You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.” (Psalm 30:11)

Like JR, are you struggling with grief, depression, or loneliness?

You are not alone. Call us today and allow us to journey with you in prayer.

How Do You Respond When Things Don’t Go as Planned?

Was your plan interrupted by something unexpected?

Christopher Franco’s goal was interrupted by an accident, but it led him to something even better.

Christopher had big dreams of working abroad to create a better future. With everything ready for his move to Saudi Arabia, he was excited and hopeful.

Just a week before his departure, he met with friends in Laguna for a farewell gathering. But in an instant, his life changed forever.

Riding his motorcycle with his friend, Christopher lost control and crashed. The impact left him unconscious. When he woke up, he felt extremely weak and confused. His friend stayed calm, but Christopher’s head injuries were serious. None of the bystanders were willing to help.

When tragedies happen, how do you respond? Do you believe that God can help you through?

Thankfully, God intervened for Christopher.

Reverb Worship artist Jack D’Preacher, drove past the accident scene along with his wife.

Jack had first-aid training, so he immediately offered to help Christopher. When his call did not connect to 911, Jack decided to personally bring Christopher to the nearest hospital.

Being in the hospital made Jack realize how our lives can be easily taken away, so as a believer of Jesus, he wanted to comfort Christopher with God’s love. He told Christopher not to worry because Jesus loves him and is taking care of him.

“Before I knew it, I was already lifting my arms as Sir Jack prayed for me. It felt like I regained my strength knowing that I can lean on someone as my Savior,” Christopher said.

The accident made him reflect on life and turn to God. He prayed, asking for strength and purpose. Each day, he felt his faith growing stronger, knowing God was with him.

During this time, Jack introduced him to his song — Muli by Reverb Worship. The lyrics spoke deeply to him, reminding him of God’s love. The song became his source of peace and hope. He realized that God is giving him a second chance to live with purpose.

Christopher’s journey is a story of faith and redemption. The experience was painful, but it became a reminder that God’s plans are always greater than our own.

Now fully recovered, He is ready for his new life abroad. His story reminds us that even in our darkest moments, God is always ready to heal, restore, and guide us toward a new beginning.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1 NIV)

Are you like Christopher who wants to know God’s care?

You don’t need to be perfect to know Jesus, come as you are, and He will meet you in your current situation.

Your Setbacks are God’s Setups for Breakthroughs

Vicky Tamban experienced this firsthand.

Vicky runs a successful business, has completed her college degree, and earned a doctorate. She became a university professor, and her family’s life was transformed in ways they never thought possible.

Before her breakthroughs, Vicky and her family endured many breaking moments.

In 1989, when Vicky and Santiago eloped at a young age, they found themselves struggling to survive. They didn’t have enough money, and even their food was limited. There were times when they could only eat rice once a week.

Santiago, worked as a laborer, while Vicky worked as a seamstress, but their combined income still wasn’t enough to make ends meet.

“We weren’t just living paycheck to paycheck, we were barely getting by,” Vicky recalled.

Are you facing the same situation? Where do you turn for help?

Vicky turned to God.

Despite their hardships, something in Vicky changed as she grew deeper in her relationship with God. A story from the Bible stood out to her—the story of the poor widow who gave all she had—just two small coins. The words of Jesus echoed in her heart:

“Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she had to live on.” (Luke 21:3-4, ESV)

This story deeply touched Vicky’s heart. One day, when she only had 10 pesos left, she decided to give it all to God’s work.

God, in His faithfulness, blessed her for it. He opened doors for Vicky, leading her to a job in a big company. She and her husband also started their own landscaping business. Their income grew, and they were able to rise above poverty.

Just as things seemed to be falling into place, Vicky’s path took another turn.

At 36, she returned to college to finish her degree. The pressure of balancing her studies with the demands of their business was overwhelming.

Slowly, their once-thriving business began to crumble, and the tension between Vicky and Santiago grew. They fought often, and her husband started picking up unhealthy habits.

The weight of it all crushed Vicky. How could this be happening when they had been so faithful? She found herself questioning God.

Like Vicky, are you facing challenges that have you questioning God’s goodness?

Don’t lose hope. God sees your struggles, and in His perfect timing, your breakthrough will come—just like it did for Vicky.

In the darkest moments of her life, God met Vicky in her need.

She watched The 700 Club Asia once again and found a renewed hope and encouragement. During the episode, host Coney Reyes shared a powerful word from God about restoring troubled marriages, which deeply resonated with Vicky.

Inspired, Vicky decided to give to CBN Asia’s work, even though money was tight.

And soon after, a breakthrough came. A client placed a large order for plants, and their business started to thrive again. Their marriage was restored, and Vicky finished her degree, earned a doctorate, and became a university professor.

Now, with every blessing, Vicky continues to support God’s ministry.

“We get to help so many people, not just with financial or material needs, but most importantly, spiritually. The 700 Club Asia is truly fertile ground,” Vicky shared.

And now, she desires to give even more.

Just like Vicky, you too can help change lives of our kababayans in need. By partnering with us, you can help reach more people, pray for them, and lead them to Jesus.

If you’re looking for your own breakthrough, start by knowing Jesus more. He’s ready to meet you right where you are.
