God Can Turn Your Weaknesses into Blessings

All of us have weaknesses. But here’s the good news: God can use your weakness for a greater purpose!

That’s what happened to Jordan Escusa.

Jordan, a Filipino immigrant in the US, was verbally and physically abused because of what people say his “ugly” and “robot-like” voice. So, he decided to seek protection from a gang.

Smoking weed, skipping school, and stealing things—these became Jordan’s lifestyle as a gang member. However, instead of finding safety, he experienced more violence from his co-members.

Even after getting disciplined by his parents, Jordan did not stop from doing his vices. But he had a constant thought that anytime, he could end up dead or in jail.

And so, he decided to go back to the Philippines to take a break and escape danger. Thankfully, his relatives worked together to bring him closer to God.

Jordan attended a youth camp, where he heard a message that changed his life.

“It was His grace that saved me from all those times that I could’ve died or gone to jail,” he said.

Jordan surrendered his life to God. He lost interest in drugs and sought forgiveness from his parents.

Do you also have something that you have to surrender to God? You can still come to Him and ask His forgiveness today!

As 1 John 1:9 (NIV) says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Jordan discovered a love for Christian rock music. It became his way of sharing the Gospel.

He became a regular listener of a radio show hosted by Joyce Titular—who was also a co-host of The 700 Club Asia.

Jordan eventually met her, and their friendship opened a great opportunity for him.

Joyce discovered Jordan’s talent when she recommended him to host an event that she was supposed to do.

This started Jordan’s radio ministry career. And in 2014, he received the KBP Golden Dove Award for “Best Radio Jock!”

The voice that was once mocked by others was used by God to spread His message to others.

“God is able to take something that is probably viewed by the world as garbage and turn it into something else,” Jordan shared.

Jordan’s story is a testament to 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV):

“But He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
