The Philippine premiere of Christian animated film “Light of the World” lit up Cinema 2 of SM Megamall and gathered media partners, content creators, celebrities, and moviegoers together for an inspiring night celebrating faith and creative storytelling, held last October 21.

The film was produced by The Salvation Poem Project and brought to local theaters by CBN Asia.
Following the pre-show activities at the red carpet, hosts Neo Rivera and Via Antonio opened the premiere night with warmth and lively banter that immediately drew the crowd in. Felichi Pangilinan-Buizon, one of the hosts of The 700 Club Asia, followed with a heartfelt prayer, reminding everyone that “there is no darkness God’s light cannot dispel.”

“When parents watch this show, it will help them explain how Jesus is the Light of the World—through its animation, storytelling, humor, and the life of Jesus,” CBN Asia Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Tan expressed in an interview.

Guests also got to see a short behind-the-scenes feature showing how the movie was made, and heard a message from directors John Schafer and Tom Bancroft.
When the lights dimmed and Light of the World appeared on the big screen, the audience laughed, smiled, and even shed tears. As the film ended, the theater erupted in cheers and applause, a clear sign of the movie’s success and powerful impact on the viewers.

This message resonated deeply with everyone present—a reminder that even in one’s darkest moments, the light of Christ still shines.
“What I love the most about Jesus is His kindness and how He healed the sick people,” Andrea said.

Meanwhile, Enzo’s father has a message for the parents, “It’s different when you tell them the story and then they see it on the big screen through animation, it helps them understand and visualize what they’ve learned.”

“I’m glad that Light of the World will finally be shown here. The people behind this film are the same creative minds behind Superbook and even some great Disney movies we grew up with. They poured their talent and passion into telling the story of Jesus through the eyes of John—it’s refreshing and offers a new perspective,” said Icko Gonzalez, CBN Asia’s Vice President for Media.

CBN Asia extends its sincere gratitude to donors: GIGA, Bron Michael’s Catering Services, Intext Builders and Construction Corporation, and to its official media partners—Love Radio, iFM, Win Radio, and Light TV Radio—for their support in making this inspiring premiere a success.
