1. Ruth’s love and loyalty to family

For Ruth, family always goes first. Despite everything she has gone through, Ruth chose to stay and care for her mother-in-law Naomi (Ruth 1:1 – 18).

Like Ruth, be loving and faithful to your family. One way to show love for them is to lead them to Jesus. You can express loyalty to them by staying with them in their most challenging times or comforting them whenever they feel sad.

2. Naaman’s humility

Naaman is the commander of the Syrian army. Even if he is a high-ranking official, he cannot find a cure for his leprosy. He showed humility by listening to his Israelite servant girl, telling Naaman to ask help from a prophet from their town (2 Kings 5:1 – 13).

Having a humble and teachable heart encourages others to express their opinions and suggestions, too.

3. Obedience of Eliezer, Abraham’s Servant

Eliezer followed his master’s order even though it was not easy. He trusted God and prayed for His guidance. Through the Lord’s leading, Eliezer was able to accomplish the task (Genesis 24:15 – 27).

Obeying God and relying on Him will lead us to His good and perfect will for us.

4. David’s merciful heart

Forgiving someone who hurt us is often easier said than done. David experienced this when he was being chased and threatened by King Saul. When he saw an opportunity to get even with the king, David chose to show mercy instead of seeking revenge (1 Samuel 24:1 – 7).

God forgives His children when they turn from their sinful ways and return to Him. May this truth remind us to extend mercy and kindness to people who have wronged us.

5. Daniel’s unshakeable trust in the Lord

Daniel believed that God would do something amazing in their hopeless situation. Though the task was difficult, he chose to seek God instead of worrying. Daniel prayed for the Lord to reveal to him what King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was and help him interpret its meaning (Daniel 2:1 – 20).

You can trust God in every situation, even when all hope seems lost. Rely on Him and believe in His mighty power.
