Two inspirational songs produced by Reverb Worship PH, CBN Asia’s music arm, received nominations and special citations at this year’s Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA).
Joselle Feliciano’s bossa-nova track “Wala Nang Hahanapin Pa” has earned a special citation for Best Inspirational Religious Song. Arranged and produced by Gino Cruz, this heartfelt ode to the beauty of God’s creation invites listeners to celebrate the beauty of life—from nature’s wonders to everyday joys.
“This recognition has taught me that the greatest blessings can often come from choosing to follow the Lord in His simple requests,” Joselle said. “I set out to write “Wala Nang Hahanapin Pa” to praise God in my own musical style—jazz and bossa nova. I wasn’t really sure if it would work but tried, while asking the Lord for the grace and creativity to finish this song.”
She praised God for the recognition in the 15th year of the prestigious award-giving body and shared the milestone with everyone who made it possible.
“It is amazing how far He would take what little we contribute and use it to bless many. Thank you, CMMA! Thank you, Lord! To Him be the glory, forever and always!”
On the other hand, “Muli” by gospel rapper JDP Jack D’Preacher bagged a special citation for the Best Music Video category. Directed by Lyle Apalisok, the music video beautifully encapsulates the song’s raw themes of sin, addiction, and redemption, and elevates its message of God’s forgiveness that anyone seeking a fresh start can resonate with.
“I want to thank Lord Jesus because He turned my mess into a message. I never imagined that a song that once existed only in my mind would be given such recognition. The song “Muli” is not about me; it is the story of the Lord and how He freed me from the chains of sin and accepted me despite my repeated mistakes. So, I will never claim this CMMA award as my own, it belongs to God!” JDP Jack D’Preacher said.
Director Lyle Apalisok echoes his sentiments and shares how getting the nods from prestigious award-giving bodies like CMMA affirms and fuels his work as a Christian artist.
“It is a beautiful affirmation of God’s purpose for my work as an artist. This award honors the value He places on what I create and the journey I share with those who inspire me, especially my wife Julia. Collaborating with a team deeply passionate about their craft and the gospel has been a profound blessing.”
As Reverb Worship songs garner acclaim, Icko Gonzalez, CBN Asia’s Special Projects Manager, hopes that CBN Asia’s music label continues to reach a wider audience and share God’s love, hope, and healing.
“Receiving this recognition is truly a gift from the Lord, and we are beyond grateful. It’s humbling to know our songs are reaching and blessing thousands. Thank you to everyone who nominated and voted for us. Our prayer is that these songs continue to transform hearts and draw people closer to Jesus.”
