CBN Asia Recognized at Malacañang as Philippines Exits Financial Action Task Force Grey List

CBN Asia was honored as one of over 200 awardees at the national recognition ceremony for the Philippines’ successful exit from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Grey List.

President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led the ceremony and personally handed the plaques of appreciation to the honorees. Representing the ministry, President and Chief Executive Officer Peter Kairuz, along with Vice President for Administration and Malou Ibañez, accepted the plaque of recognition on the organization’s behalf.

“As a non-profit organization, the award speaks about CBN Asia’s integrity, about our commitment to cooperate with our government in however way we can. We are here to be good citizens, be good stewards of what the Lord has entrusted to us,” Kairuz said.

The FATF Grey List includes countries under heightened monitoring due to risks such as money laundering and terrorism financing.

This milestone reflects stronger global confidence in the Philippines’ financial systems. Being officially removed from the grey list brings multiple benefits to the country: it strengthens greater trust from international investors, creates more opportunities for local businesses, and lowers remittance costs for our hardworking overseas Filipino workers sending money back home.

For CBN Asia, it brings greater transparency, credibility, and trust to the way resources are managed – a powerful testament that, by God’s grace, integrity and excellence remain at the heart of its mission. With every resource entrusted to the ministry, it remains faithful in stewarding resources, knowing that good governance is the foundation of true transformation.

“CBN Asia was honored, but we were there on behalf of our nation. By the grace of God, we were part of this achievement. It was truly a great honor,” Malou Ibañez said.
