Superbook Presents Season 5 at Media Conference

Superbook Philippines held a media conference on Thursday, May 23, at the CBN Asia Studio, to announce the highly anticipated launch of Superbook Season 5.

Content creators and press people attended the event; some mommy bloggers brought their kids too and they all got to experience a sneak peek of what the brand-new season brings.

“While the first four seasons introduced stories and characters, Chris and Joy, with a light approach, Season 5 will be more serious, and also highlighting their growth in faith with stronger, more mature characters,” said Icko Gonzalez, CBN Asia’s Head for Superbook.

He added, “Expect new settings, characters, and enriching teachings in this exciting new season of Superbook!”

The highlight of the event was the screening of one of the episodes, titled Sermon on the Mount. The episode follows Chris, Joy, and Gizmo as they try to apply the teachings of Jesus from their Superbook adventures. They are transported back to the time of Jesus’ famous Sermon on the Mount.

The screening heightened the guests’ excitement for the new season and brought out laughter as the audience enjoyed the wit of Chris and Joy and their efforts to live out what they learned.

Mommy content creator Pamela Gasgonia shared her thoughts on the episode, saying, “It doesn’t mean that when we ask God for something, He will give it to us immediately. It’s important for children to also learn how to wait and understand that they need to take action while they wait.”

Christian content creator Lance Ocab shared his thoughts during the MediaCon, “I enjoyed the experience, especially watching one of the episodes. Witnessing this, I see the potential impact Superbook can have on children.”

He also reflected on the challenge of making Bible stories relatable to children, “It’s challenging. I am eager to see how Superbook will handle this challenge.”

For Ronieth Dayaoa, a Gen Z Christian content creator and author, Superbook creates a lasting positive impact on children.

Superbook helps children to be exposed to the love of Jesus and many other lessons that will create a ripple effect as they grow,” she said.

Inspired by the mommy content creators, Ronieth added that if she has children in the future, she plans to use Superbook to teach them about faith.

The event also featured the appearance of Gizmo, who was joyfully welcomed by everyone. The Superbook team, media partners, and their kids capped off the MediaCon by singing and dancing to The Salvation Poem—making the event more fun and meaningful.

Gather your kids and join Chris, Joy, and Gizmo for another series of Superbook adventures in Season 5, premiering on Philippine television this June 3. Tune in Monday to Friday at 8:30 a.m. on A2Z and Kapamilya Channel.

Superbook Shares the Gospel to the Aeta Community

There’s no stopping Superbook from sharing the gospel with the children all over the Philippines!

The Superbook team brought the fun-filled event Gizmo on the GO! at To God Be The Glory Christian Academy in Zambales. Many children from the Aeta community attend this school.

The day was filled with joy as the students arrived. They couldn’t hide their smiles and excitement! Everyone eagerly participated in the games and activities.

The highlight for many was watching the Superbook episode He is Risen, which tells the story of Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection to save mankind from sin and death (John 19-20). This timeless Bible story not only taught them life lessons but also led them to receive Jesus in their hearts.

Fifteen-year-old Rijanaly shared her thoughts after watching Superbook. “Having Jesus in our lives is important, especially when we face tough times. I also learned to love and obey my parents,” she said.

Teacher Romalyn Ladringan shared that Superbook is an effective tool in teaching God’s Word to children, “It’s crucial to instill God’s Word in children so they can carry these lessons with them throughout their lives.”

The students’ excitement soared when their beloved robot friend, Gizmo, joined them. Together, they joyfully danced and sang along to The Salvation Poem. They also prayed a heartfelt prayer to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior, making the day more meaningful for them!

The children also received loot bags filled with yummy snacks and Superbook gifts.

Through Gizmo on the GO!, CBN Asia not only brought a joyful afternoon to the children of the Aeta community but also sowed seeds of faith, hope, and love. The lessons they have learned from Superbook can resonate in their hearts for years to come, shaping their character and guiding them on their life journey.

Join Superbook’s mission to share Jesus and touch the lives of children and families throughout the Philippines. Send us a message on Facebook if you want to be involved in our ministry.

Luke Conde, Rain Matienzo Star as Pandemic Lovers in CBN Asia’s Holy Week Special, “Tugon”

CBN Asia will once again captivate audiences with its much-anticipated Holy Week special, Tanikala presents “Tugon,” airing this Good Friday, March 29, at 5:30 p.m. on GMA.

Starring Luke Conde and Rain Matienzo, Tugon tells the story of real-life couple, Nolo and Jasmine Lopez, who met online and found love and healing in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Luke plays Nolo, a young man scarred by childhood abuse and struggles to reconcile his faith in God. As a man with big dreams like Nolo, Luke reveals that he felt a deep connection to his role when his career was put to a halt during the pandemic.

“I wanted my career as an actor to continue. I had work with my previous network but because of the pandemic, I somehow lost my chance to continue that dream,” Luke recalled.

He continued, “Actually, when we were shooting this special, that feeling I had during the pandemic came back to me. It was like a rewind of what I experienced during that time.

Meanwhile, Rain breathes life into the character of Jasmine, who is haunted by her past traumas and the pressures of being a breadwinner. Despite their differing personalities, the actress sees herself in Jasmine, appreciating their shared courage in facing life’s challenges.

“I can relate to her fighting spirit. I am a fighter in my own way, but with Jasmine, you see it in her steadfastness. I am inspired by how she does it,” Rain shared.

Drawn together by a TikTok video, their characters find solace in music and faith. However, Nolo’s dark past resurfaces, testing their bond, while Jasmine confronts her fears about the future.

Tugon is directed by Timmy Yee and written by Seth Blanco and Shekinah Gram.

“Viewers can learn so many lessons in this film. One of them is the art of waiting for the right person,” the telecine’s director said. “It proves that love isn’t bound by unplanned circumstances. It proves that even in uncertain times, love can be victorious.”

See how their story unfolds. Watch CBN Asia’s Holy Week special, Tugon, on Good Friday, March 29, at 5:30 p.m. on GMA.

God Can Turn Your Coins into Miracles

Have you ever asked this question: What can simple coins get me?

Vicky Leal wondered about the same thing, and was surprised as God showed how her simple coins could lead to great joy and miracles.

Vicky lives a simple life as a seller of gallons of water. From her humble income, she would set aside coins and save them in hopes of putting them to good use.

Little did she know, God will show His faithfulness with the little that He entrusted Vicky.

One day, Vicky came across an episode of The 700 Club Asia, featuring families who received help from the ministry’s humanitarian arm, Operation Blessing. It moved her heart to support CBN Asia with the coins she has saved up.

“I am so happy because I get to help people like the ones I watched on the show. They really need help. We may not provide everything they need, but at least we get to ease their burden,” Vicky shared.

Do you ever feel like what you have is not enough?

Have you doubted blessing others, and felt that it’s not worth it?

Vicky thought about those things, too. But God proved His faithfulness to her and showed that giving is worth it. Her obedience pleases God.

Not long after, an answered prayer came to Vicky’s life. She received a ticket to go to her province and spend time with her family—all expenses paid.

Vicky lives a simple life. She doesn’t have the most glamorous one, but she has a joyful heart through her generous giving. Through the little that she had, she was able to bless and improve the lives of others.

“Life is good and enjoyable when Christ is at the center. God’s love for me and my love for others—these are the things I’m proud of and thankful for,” she said.

Through Vicky’s partnership with CBN Asia, many families received the help they need and heard about God’s saving love.

You, too, can be a blessing like Vicky.

Truly, it’s not about the amount, but the heart of the giver—the willingness to give. Remember, the little you give may be the answer to someone else’s prayer.

So, with a cheerful heart that gives, pray and believe that God can turn your coins into miracles.

“Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” (2 Corinthians 9:7-8 NIV)

5 Life Lessons You Can Learn from Superbook Season 3 Characters

Are you looking for entertaining Bible stories filled with lessons for you and your family? Superbook’s got your back!

Superbook is CBN Asia’s animated series that follows Chris, Joy, and Gizmo’s time-travel adventures as they witness the stories of people in the Bible.

Don’t miss the premiere of Superbook Season 3 Tagalog episodes on the Batang Superbook YouTube Channel starting July 8!

Read more to get a glimpse of 5 of the many life lessons in store for you!

1. Ruth’s love and loyalty to family

For Ruth, family always goes first. Despite everything she has gone through, Ruth chose to stay and care for her mother-in-law Naomi (Ruth 1:1 – 18).

Like Ruth, be loving and faithful to your family. One way to show love for them is to lead them to Jesus. You can express loyalty to them by staying with them in their most challenging times or comforting them whenever they feel sad.

2. Naaman’s humility

Naaman is the commander of the Syrian army. Even if he is a high-ranking official, he cannot find a cure for his leprosy. He showed humility by listening to his Israelite servant girl, telling Naaman to ask help from a prophet from their town (2 Kings 5:1 – 13).

Having a humble and teachable heart encourages others to express their opinions and suggestions, too.

3. Obedience of Eliezer, Abraham’s Servant

Eliezer followed his master’s order even though it was not easy. He trusted God and prayed for His guidance. Through the Lord’s leading, Eliezer was able to accomplish the task (Genesis 24:15 – 27).

Obeying God and relying on Him will lead us to His good and perfect will for us.

4. David’s merciful heart

Forgiving someone who hurt us is often easier said than done. David experienced this when he was being chased and threatened by King Saul. When he saw an opportunity to get even with the king, David chose to show mercy instead of seeking revenge (1 Samuel 24:1 – 7).

God forgives His children when they turn from their sinful ways and return to Him. May this truth remind us to extend mercy and kindness to people who have wronged us.

5. Daniel’s unshakeable trust in the Lord

Daniel believed that God would do something amazing in their hopeless situation. Though the task was difficult, he chose to seek God instead of worrying. Daniel prayed for the Lord to reveal to him what King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream was and help him interpret its meaning (Daniel 2:1 – 20).

You can trust God in every situation, even when all hope seems lost. Rely on Him and believe in His mighty power.

Superbook Shares the Message of Jesus to the Children of Lipa, Batangas

Gizmo once again embarked on an extraordinary adventure to spread the love of Jesus to children everywhere!

Recently, the lovable robot from Superbook visited Lipa, Batangas. The “Gizmo on the GO!” event prepared by the Superbook team ignited the hearts of Filipino families and young fans—through an unforgettable experience filled with games, activities, and the powerful message of the gospel.

Among the eager attendees was Ernest Buenviaje, an energetic 10-year-old who considers himself a certified Batang Superbook.

“I enjoy watching Superbook because it teaches valuable moral lessons that we can pass on to future generations as we grow older,” Ernest shared.

Just like Ernest, a lot of children had fun as they dived into a world of Superbook wonder in different stations inside the activity area. Aside from entertainment, the activities prepared for the kids taught them valuable lessons.

The Creation Station, a hub of creativity, delighted them with Superbook-themed coloring pages that came to life with their vivid imaginations. The Arcade Station experience was a blast as they engaged in Superbook games. The Photobooth Station captured the joyous moments of children as they proudly showcased their artwork from the Creation Station.

The highlight of the day was an exciting game called “Gizmo’s Lab,” where Ernest emerged as the winner! When asked about his secret, he humbly shared, “I prayed before playing the game, like how I pray before taking tests in school.”

It wasn’t just about games and fun. Superbook left a lasting impact on the young hearts as they gathered to watch the lesson-filled episode, “The Good Samaritan.” Through this story, they learned the powerful message of kindness and helping others, no matter their differences.

The crowd erupted with joy as Gizmo showed up on stage!

They sang and danced to “The Salvation Poem,” creating an atmosphere of celebration and praise. Gizmo’s heartfelt invitation to receive Jesus as their Lord and Savior touched the children’s hearts and many responded with a resounding “Yes!”

As a token of appreciation, the children received Superbook gift bags, filled with treasures that would continue to inspire their faith journey. The bag included bread, chips, juice, a copy of “Book of Hope” and Superbook stickers.

And of course, who could miss the chance to capture a memorable photo with their beloved robot friend, Gizmo?

Once again, Superbook’sGizmo on the GO!” brought smiles, laughter, and life-changing moments to children and families. It’s a testament to the incredible impact Superbook has in sharing the love of Jesus and teaching valuable life lessons.

Mom Shares How Superbook Helped 2 Generations of Their Family Learn More about God

What is one thing from your childhood that you want to pass on to your kids?

For SuperMom Rosabelita, it’s the Bible lessons she got from watching Superbook back in the ‘80s and ‘90s.

Rosabelita loved watching Superbook Classic and The Flying House when she was younger. Now, it’s her daughter Paula’s turn to join the fun Bible adventures of Chris, Joy, and Gizmo!

She doesn’t want Paula to just watch Superbook for fun without learning lessons from it. So, she decided to go on a Superbook journey once more–this time with her daughter!

The mother-and-daughter duo went to participate in a Gizmo on the GO! event in Robinsons Gapan, Nueva Ecija, last April. “Gizmo on the GO!” is a fun-filled event where kids can try different activities, play games, watch Superbook episodes, take a selfie with their favorite robot friend Gizmo, and more!

SuperMom Rosabelita proudly cheered for her daughter as Paula answered every question during Gizmo’s Lab, a quiz bee part of the show, with ease. She ended up being the winner, even taking home special prizes from Gizmo!

Rosabelita shared that Superbook’s visuals appeal to kids—encouraging them to learn about biblical lessons and good values. In fact, she noticed some similarities between Chris’ experience in the Superbook episode, He is Risen with that of her daughter.

“At first, Chris had a different attitude toward his mom. But after he went to Jesus’ time and then back to the present, his attitude toward his mother changed. That also happened with Paula,” she said, testifying on how Superbook helps her teach good values to her daughter.

The SuperMom also gave advice to other parents, “I hope that they will make time to watch Superbook together with their children, so they can explain life lessons from the show.”

Watching Superbook not only helps children understand Bible lessons better, but it also gives opportunities for parents and kids to bond. SuperParents can also use the Superbook Family Discussion Guide to help their learning time be more meaningful and productive!

Are You Praying for a Child?

For some couples, having children and building their own family is one of the greatest blessings of marriage. Along with planning where to live, parents plan the names of their kids, how they will be raised, and what school they will study in.

Imagine preparing all of these and realizing that it might be difficult for you to have a child.

This is exactly how Katrina Calmona felt after her doctor told her that she had PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome), a condition that can affect the ability to conceive.

Katrina has always dreamed of becoming a mother even before she married Orven, her husband. She desired to experience the excitement of pregnancy and having a happy household.

After their wedding last 2015, they have been trying to conceive but kept failing.

This caused Katrina’s frustration. Aside from her hopes being let down, her batchmates are either on their second child or celebrating their first pregnancy.

“A few of my relatives were asking when I’m planning to have a kid,” she recalled.

Although it was not the intention, this put a lot of pressure on Katrina.

There were comparisons left and right.

Despite what she was going through, she did everything she could to be healthy and waited patiently for her prayers to be answered.

After 2 years, the test results finally came back positive. But when they were about to celebrate, it turned out to be a false positive. The doctors checked and saw that Katrina’s womb is empty.

This devastated her even more.

Instead of losing her faith in God, it encouraged her to trust God even more.

Katrina and her husband continuously watched The 700 Club Asia, which they said became their encouragement during their struggle. And just in time, they chanced upon an episode about a wife who had PCOS but still got pregnant after waiting patiently.

“It uplifted my heavy heart, and renewed my hope that if I trust God, He will answer my prayers at the right time,” she said.

While she was waiting and trusting God, Katrina continued to support God’s ministry by donating to CBN Asia. She gave 300 to 500 pesos monthly, saying that her salary was not big, but she still wanted to give back and plant a seed in God’s work.

“God does not look at the amount of what you donate, He sees your joy when you give.”

After just one year, the Lord has already answered their prayer. This time, the test came back as a sure positive. They named their baby Zoe Bliss.

After all the ups and downs they experienced, Katrina learned that she should not allow the pressure to dictate her timeline.

“We should trust God because He knows better than us. He knows when we are ready and settled to receive what we are asking for,” she added.

Other than blessing her with a daughter, the Lord continued to show favor in her life. Katrina was able to buy two properties in the Philippines.

She could not express how thankful she is to The 700 Club Asia for encouraging her to get through the tough times of her life.

If you are praying for a child or you are going through a challenging season, Katrina leaves an inspiring message for you, “I believe that God already has a plan for our life, and in the end, we should be thankful for it.”

The answer to Katrina’s prayer didn’t come when she expected to, but she did not lose hope.

She kept praying and waiting. Eventually, her blessing came at God’s right time.

God can answer your prayers, too.

Get to know Jesus and let Him prepare you for what you’re praying for.

As Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

Let God use you to encourage others. Reach out and partner with us.
