I believe in the wind, even though I cannot see it. I know without it, I will die. No matter how much I inhale, how hard I inhale, how often I inhale… if there is no wind I will naturally die. I was designed this way; it is not a flaw, but an ordained dependence of my human body to need air to live.

I believe there is a God, even though I cannot see Him. The earth tells of His glory, I know He exists and that without Him I cannot settle all my debts or any financial obligation. HE IS AN IMPORTANT PART OF MY DEBT SOLUTION. It is impossible for me to be truly debt-free without Him!

It is God who:

1. Gives me skills – Exodus 36:1-2 “And every skillful person; in whom the Lord has put skill and understanding to know how to perform all the work.”
2. Gives me success – Genesis 39:2-3 “The Lord was with Joseph, so he became a successful man… his master saw that the Lord was with him and how the Lord caused all that he did to prosper in his hand.”
3. Gives me promotion – Psalms 75:6-7 “For promotion and power comes from nowhere on earth, but only from God."

These three roles are very important if I am ever to pay off my debts and be physically, emotionally and spiritually free of debt’s bondage. It is only God who can provide these. Nobody else.

Let’s begin our journey; we all have robbed God out of His R.O.L.E. We’ve tried to clean our own mess, and naturally, have created more mess. Time for a U-turn, a turn back to God:

Recognize Him – God is the owner of everything. “The earth is the Lord, and all it contains” (Psalms 24:1). Outstanding author Larry Burkett observed when we acknowledge God’s ownership, every spending decision becomes a spiritual decision. No longer do we ask “Lord what do You want me to do with my money?” The question is restated, “Lord, what do You want me to do with Your money?”

Obey Him – even through financially tough and difficult times. A.W. Tozer said, God can’t use a person to the maximum, until he or she has been hurt deeply. This is true. Howard Dayton reaffirms, “I’ve learned lessons of trusting the Lord and drawing close to Him that I never would have learned apart from difficult times. “ Tough times have a purpose. Ask for His wisdom in your tough time, and obey what He has to say.

Love Him – even if you are perplexed and helpless. At these exact times, and even with your last amount of strength, embrace God tightly. He will embrace you back, His arms will wrap around you and just LOVE you, LOVE you, LOVE you.

Exalt Him – “…your redemption draws near” Luke 21:28. Lift up His name in the midst of your financial battle. There is power in His name. As you exalt Him, you will strengthen your faith in Him, in His wonders and His works. Pray to see tough times the way God sees it. When you do, you will see that He is truly worthy to be exalted!
