An Appeal for MIndanao

As of this writing, over 440 people have already died when Typhoon Sendong (International Code Name: Washi) traversed Northern Mindanao triggering severe flooding, the worst the region has experienced. The storm directly hit Cagayan de Oro City and Iligan City and left a path of destruction in the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Camaguin Island, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur and Zamboanga.

Some people say this is like 2009's Typhoon Ondoy--all over again.

Earlier today, Operation Blessing, The 700 Club Asia's humanotarian arm, has mobilized its resources in Mindanao through its Davao office to immediately send help to our fellow brothers and sisters now in dire need.

OB will send its mobile water station that will ensure a steady supply of potable water in the evacuation centers. Aside from this OB will give out 1,000 mats and blankets so that our kababayans will have a dry place to sleep on.

Operation Blessing is committed to providing relief to those who are suffering in Mindanao due to Typhoon Sendong. We are appealing to you today to ask for your help. As these areas start recovering and as we assess the whole impact of the typhoon, more needs will surface that must be met quickly. You can click this link if you want to give now.

Our resources are only good for a few short days. We need you to make OB your channel of blessing to our suffering brothers. We ask you to prayerfully consider how you can help. If you have seen the news, you know that the situation right now is critical. OB needs you to act fast.

If you are abroad, the quickest way to send money is through our website www.obphil.com and clicking on the "Partner" or "Donate" button. This link will lead you to our secure credit card giving page.

Philemon 1:6 says this, "I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ."

Thank you so much for what you will do today and I know that God will bless you in return as you help those who are in need.
