A real estate agent shares her secret in closing deals… and more deals: How much are you willing to give?

For Maricar Betita, this question used to be very difficult to answer. Since her income depends on how good she convinces customers to buy properties, she struggled in giving.

“I’m already a Christian, and yet at times, I find myself doubting whether to give or not. I used to feel uncomfortable in giving, fearing I might lack,” she confessed.

Being in the real estate business for quite some time, Maricar has gotten used to the system. No closed deals, no commission.

“Sometimes, I do this little debate with myself. I know that God is convicting me to give, but I’m overwhelmed with so many concerns and worries,” she admitted.

Wholehearted Giving

It was through watching The 700 Club Asia and calling The 700 Club Counseling Center that Maricar realized the importance of wholehearted giving.

“The testimonies in the show really spoke to me. I decided I won’t be a half-hearted giver anymore, and so I asked God to change my heart. I prayed to Him to give me a giving heart,” she shared.

“I started pledging last February 2010, during one of The 700 Club Asia’s live TV special. I committed to give P2000 without hesitation, even if I haven’t received my commission yet. It was indeed a step of faith.”

And God did not disappoint her.

Deal or More Deals

The next day after she pledged, Maricar was surprised when she closed a deal worth P2 million.
“I was amazed at how fast God returned what I gave. The commission that I got for that deal amounted to P60,000,” she happily recalled.

“Despite my husband losing his job, I continued giving to The 700 Club Asia. I was not worried because I know He will provide for our needs.”

The moment Maricar started giving, more opportunities also came her way. Soon, she was closing deal after deal... after deal. And the blessings just wouldn’t stop.

“I remember giving P2,500, and two days after, I closed a deal worth P2.4 million, with P70,000 as my commission. It’s really amazing! Each time I give wholeheartedly, it’s tested, I never lack,” Maricar testified.

“Before, I used to lack, even if I have money. It’s because I don’t give. Thank God, I found the secret. The more I give, the more I get. The more I don’t give, the more I lose.”

Maricar used to limit herself in giving. But God showed her the real deal: Giving is receiving.
