iMultiply: Enlarging The Tent On ACM's 15th Year

“Enlarge the place of your tent, stretch your tent curtains wide, do not hold back; lengthen your cords, strengthen your stakes.” (Isaiah 54:2)

Everything that has life grows. And everything that grows, multiplies…

In the past two years, Asian Center for Missions (ACM) has been deepening and expanding its relationship with the Body of Christ as it extends its ministry all over the Philippines through the Global Bayanihan program introduced by ACM Philippine Director Nathaniel Ramos.

This program involves mobile training methodology, which changed the old trend of inviting people to an ACM center for training. Instead, ACM now goes where the people are, as the Holy Spirit leads.

In Mindanao, for example, after organizing the Body of Christ and gathering churches interested in ACM’s Missionary Training Program (MTP), a mobile training was conducted in Tagum City, instead of asking its residents to travel almost two hours south to ACM’s center in Davao.

As part of the growing harvest, graduates of the mobile training just finished their local exposure trip in one of the lumad people groups in Mindanao.

Now celebrating 15 fruitful years, ACM is heeding God’s call to “expand its roots and enlarge its tent” (Isaiah 54:2), thus the theme iMultiply came forth, revolving around Peter Kairuz’s words, “Year of Multiplication.”

In terms of training, ACM not only works on enlarging its tent by expanding through mobile trainings, but also through multiplying the sowers of the seeds as more and more people are being raised up by God to become goers. Moreover, ACM envisions having mobile training with centers and trainers all over the Philippines and even outside the country.

Furthermore, iMultiply not only refers to the tent, but also to the people passing on the anointing to others. For instance, in the missionary care (MCare) program, ACM is multiplying missionary care volunteers all over the Philippines, especially where trainings are happening. Each member plays a part in the multiplication process.

As ACM’s ministry continues to move to the churches in a grassroots level, intercessors, MCare workers, mobilizers, supporters, and even the goers multiply themselves by sharing the fire and the anointing in their own chosen calling. And the process goes on and on. The work is no longer just according to the capacity of ACM as a missions organization. As the anointing is passed on, more and more people are being exposed to God’s move, and eventually they participate and become involved in the ministry.

For the past years, the Lord has been working through ACM in facilitating in the deployment of missionaries. Presently, it has trained 1,200 people. The number may seem small but the effect is exponential. One missionary can affect a community and even a nation.

God has promised 2010 as a Year of Multiplication for CBN Asia and its Family of Ministries. There are more seeds to plant and more fruits to harvest. The work has just begun. On its 15th year, ACM continues to press on towards more years of fulfilling the Great Commission and taking part in the multiplication of the harvest, as it celebrates God’s faithfulness and abundant provisions through the years.
