Blessings Beyond Measure Pressed down, shaken together, running over—these words best describe how 52-year-old Emelita Somigao of Quezon City has been receiving blessings from God since the day she committed to give for His Kingdom’s expansion.
For three years, Emelita has been a devoted viewer of The 700 Club Asia, but it was only in June 2009 when she started partnering with CBN Asia as a faithful donor. She sends her pledges every month, and in return blessings overflow in her household.
“Not once did God fail me. His provisions are always abundant,” Emelita shares.
“I used to cry every day when we’re experiencing tough times financially. My husband’s pension was withheld, and we could not sustain our small sari-sari store. So we had to close it,” she tearfully recalls.
As a result, her husband became so depressed that he goes home drunk almost every day. That broke Emelita’s heart. She could only pray and ask God to intervene in their helpless situation.
One evening, as she was watching The 700 Club Asia, she saw how giving to God will open the windows of heaven. So she prayed earnestly, and for the first time, Emelita decided to pledge P500.
Amazingly, blessings just flowed! They were able to sell their owner-type jeep. Her husband’s pension was released, so they were able to buy a van. The van, which is now hired daily, gives them an income of around P24,000 every month.
And much to her delight, Emelita revived their sari-sari store and even started a food business. Her daughter was also hired in a call center and is now earning constantly.
Emelita has seen so many manifestations of God’s generous hands. No doubt, His blessings are always sufficient and even more than enough!
“Each time I pledge, God blesses me in return, with provisions greater than what I expected. God is indeed faithful!”
