Blessed in Return Rosciel has office work on a Sunday in Hong Kong. But she’s willing to take a day off and travel all the way from Kowloon with her husband Randy so they can meet The 700 Club Asia host Peter Kairuz on his speaking engagement at a Filipino church in Chai Wan.
Rosciel and Randy are avid viewers of The 700 Club Asia in Hong Kong. The testimonies featured in the show are their constant source of inspiration, helping them grow closer to God and to each other.
“We enjoy watching it together every night,” says Rosciel, especially if the topic is on marriage and family issues. The young couple uses Bible verses from the show as pointers for strengthening their relationship.
Rosciel adds, “The show also helps us be aware of what’s happening in the Philippines. We were able to witness the great poverty of our fellowmen in the provinces, and how CBN Asia is reaching out and helping these people.” This prompted the couple to financially support CBN Asia in blessing Filipinos worldwide through Christian programming, prayer counseling, humanitarian outreaches, and cross-cultural missions.
“Even if we’re here in Hong Kong, we know we are helping in some way through the pledges that we send,” says Rosciel.
“We’ve seen the sincerity of CBN Asia and how they help. We know there are other fundraising programs and charities out there. But with what we’ve seen through The 700 Club Asia, we ourselves were moved by the joy of those people they’ve helped, not just materially but also spiritually,” she adds.
The 700 Club Asia also inspires Rosciel to hold on to her deepest longing: “The show gives us hope that Randy and I will finally have our first baby in God’s time.”
When Peter Kairuz met Rosciel and Randy after his preaching at the International Christian Assembly, he personally prayed for the couple and spoke a blessing of a wonderful family life ahead.
“Now I can feel an answered prayer finally coming,” Rosciel says with a smile.
