The
Philippines was the first country outside of the United
States to air The 700 Club in 1976. The show now draws
audiences in over 180 countries of the world and is
translated into more than 70 languages. Both The 700
Club and The 700 Club Asia, which was launched in the
Philippines in 1995, showcase true-to-life stories of
modern-day miracles. These include instant physical
healing, deliverance from vices and self-destructive
behavior, and rebirth into a new life of peace and wholeness
through prayers and a personal relationship with Jesus
Christ as Savior and Lord.
The 700 Club and its Asia version do not depend on paid
advertisements, but the donations of televiewers who
believe in bringing biblical Christian values and the
power of God for positive change through the mass media.
The name of the program derives from the first 700 people
who pledged to donate $10 a month to shoulder the production
cost of $7,000 a month during the show's initial telecasts
in the Sixties in the U.S.A.
The
700 Club also provides televiewers with a 24-hour telephone
counseling service where they can ask for prayers for
healing, biblical advice on their daily problems and
challenges, and give feedback on each show.
