| People
who suffer from allergies, arthritis, chronic fatigue,
heart problems or other sickness and diseases may be surprised
to learn that often it is not one major thing that causes
bad health. Instead, according to Don Colbert, M.D., "It's
a multitude of little things!"
He
believes negative emotions, dead food, and toxic household
products people use daily can destroy good health.
A
board-certified family practice medical doctor who specializes
in nutritional medicine, Dr. Colbert has treated over
17,000 patients. Since 1984, he has helped patients
regain their health, and he has taught thousands how
to live pain free - even after years of suffering.
Colbert
believes, however, that good emotional and spiritual
health are essential to physical well-being.
"The
Most important thing [to having good health]
more
important than vitamins, minerals, the food we eat and
the water we drink - is having a merry heart,"
he says.
He
bases his premise on the Bible, where it says, "A
merry heart does good like a medicine, but a broken
spirit dries the bones" (Proverbs 17:22).
Colbert
advises that it's crucial "for people to rid themselves
of deadly toxic emotions, such as hatred, bitterness,
resentment and unforgiveness."
In
fact, he exclaims, "Almost every cancer victim
I have ever seen had some [unresolved issue of] unforgiveness
or resentment toward someone, or even self-hate."
But,
he notes, the cancer often went into remission once
those patients combined forgiving others and themselves
with healthy eating habits and lifestyles changes.
Now,
in a new book, What You Don't Know May Be Killing You!
Colbert shares stories like these, integrated with biblical
teaching and other vital information, to help anyone
achieve optimum health.
For
example, the book explains how you can reduce exposure
to life-threatening diseases.
You
will also learn:
·
How to heal your body by eating live foods;
·
How to detoxify your system without causing more harm;
·
What dangerous chemicals you ingest every time you eat
or drink;
·
Which vitamins and minerals MUST be taken each day;
·
How emotions affect your immune system; plus much more.
Nevertheless,
Colbert emphasizes that good physical health ultimately
depends on whether or not you are emotionally and spiritually
healthy.
"How
you feel in your heart can show up in your body, he
says in his book, "for your heart and body are
more powerfully connected than you ever realized."
Therefore, he also advocates reading the Scriptures
daily to help maintain positive thoughts and emotions.
Colbert
summarizes, "A healthy mind that is full of love,
joy, peace and forgiveness should lead to a healthy
body."
